Chapter 61

Chapter 61

"Go to hell."

Jiang Ning shouted, and changed the gun in his hand. He stood on the city wall and fired crazily at the zombies that crawled over from the psychics. Gradually, the fighting team moved the front line with him.

Because the city wall had not been fully built, the zombies were also very smart. They scattered, avoiding the areas with city walls in front and attacking the city from the left and right.

Most of the zombies stayed in the area with city walls to hold back the people with special abilities there, while the other zombies scattered. As long as they were allowed to enter the city, this war would be a defeat for normal humans.

Therefore, the location where Jiang Ning was fighting shifted a little bit without noticing, away from the city wall and Qin Xu. He was now hiding behind a car for cover and throwing □□ forward.

There was a rumbling sound, blowing up dirt and dust. Jiang Ning felt like he was going deaf. Amidst the noise of the explosions, he seemed to hear someone calling him.

"Jiang Ning! Jiang Ning! Over here!"

The fallen dirt fragments obstructed Jiang Ning's vision. He looked around in a daze and saw a waving arm with a leopard-print sleeve.

He recognized him immediately: "Brother Tiger!"

Jiang Ning, holding the gun in both hands, crouched down and staggered as he ran to Meng Hu. Seeing Meng Hu's head covered in blood, he was startled: "Brother Hu, are you in trouble?"

Meng Hu snorted, "What bad luck! I got hit by the plaque. Why are you here? Aren't you with Qin Xu?"

After hearing what he said, Jiang Ning turned around and looked. Only then did she realize that she had run a little too far. She fired two more shots in the opposite direction, steadily blowing the heads of the two zombies apart. "There's nothing we can do. The fighting power of these two sides is too weak. They need a sharpshooter like me, hehe~"

He was still in the mood to joke, hiding behind the cover and firing a few more shots seriously.

Meng Hu gave him a thumbs up: "You are really good now, one shot kills one." There was real amazement and surprise in his eyes. When he and Jiang Ning first met, Jiang Ning probably didn't even dare to set off a firecracker. He has made great progress.

Although they made rapid progress, they couldn't handle the overwhelming number of zombies. They had limited personnel and ammunition to fight. Jiang Ning fired another round of bullets, but when he touched it, it was empty.

"Brother Tiger, give me some bullets."

Meng Hu threw an empty bag over: "I have none either."

Jiang Ning stared at the empty bag, then at the zombies that were charging at him. With a clang, he drew out his saber and, gritting his teeth, charged at the first zombie that pounced on him.

The Bengal Tiger followed closely behind.

At the city gate, Qin Xu used a large-scale supernatural attack. The city fell into darkness at this moment, and all the zombies in front of the city gate were frozen.

Even the city walls were covered with a thin layer of ice.

When he is not providing electricity to the entire city, his ability can be converted into any kind of superpower he possesses, and freezing is undoubtedly a very useful superpower.

Fortunately, there are other people with fire abilities here, so it is not completely dark here. Everyone can see where the zombies are and take this opportunity to get rid of them as quickly as possible.

Qin Xu turned his head to look at Jiang Ning's original position. When he didn't see anyone, his pupils shrank sharply, and dozens of frozen zombies turned into powder.

Jiang Ning, who was in close combat with the zombies, was far away from the city wall. When he lost the light, his vision went dark and he was hit by a stick from a zombie that appeared out of nowhere. He was knocked to the ground and spat out a mouthful of blood.

But soon, his eyes adjusted to the darkness, and the saber circled the zombie's neck, tore off the opponent's head, and smashed it at another zombie.

"Jiang Ning, are you okay?" Meng Hu's voice was heavy. Close combat is very tiring.

Jiang Ning wiped the blood off her face and said, "It's okay."

The thunder from Qin Xu's side lit up the night sky again. The thunder was like hundreds of silver snakes descending from the sky, drilling into the bodies of the zombies, making crackling sounds, slowing down the movements of the zombies, and then being quickly chopped off by others.

The war did not end until dawn. Although the psychics were very powerful, they could not withstand the new hordes of zombies that joined almost continuously.

These zombies seemed determined to take this place down, and they were surprisingly united in their efforts.

The psychics all looked exhausted and dusty. After fighting all night, what they saw at dawn was not the dawn of victory, but a horde of zombies still coming towards them from afar.

Qin Xu was panting heavily. He had used his large-scale supernatural powers dozens of times that night, and even he was almost exhausted.

He turned around to look at his exhausted companions, and among the zombie corpses scattered all over the ground, there were some familiar faces of his companions. Should he give up this place?

But if they give up, those with special abilities will have a chance to escape, but what about those hiding in the air-raid shelter?

Looking at the optical computer on his wrist, there was a green human figure in the upper left corner, representing Jiang Ning. It was mentioned before that the two optical computers were connected. The optical computer in his hand, as the host, could judge Jiang Ning's condition through this human figure. Green meant it was normal and safe.

If it turns red, it is dangerous.

The data next to the little man showed that the physical fitness area had turned red. It seemed that his little zombie was very tired after this night.

Jiang Ning was indeed exhausted. He was almost paralyzed with exhaustion, and his body was covered in blood, mostly from other zombies but also his own. The zombies temporarily stopped attacking at dawn, so they shouldn't be tired.

Jiang Ning lay on the roof of the car, looking at the gathered zombies. It seemed that they were planning to regroup and then launch a final attack.

Meng Hu lay on his side, his head facing away from him. One of his ankles was twisted in an incredible arc, painful just looking at it, but he seemed oblivious to the pain. He was smoking a cigarette and muttering, "Damn it! This isn't a fight an ordinary person like me should be participating in. Ah—I shouldn't have applied to join the organization in the first place. Now I could be shivering in the safety of a bomb shelter."

Jiang Ning: "Do you want me to take you there now?"

Meng Hu threw the cigarette butt to him and said, "Fuck, I was just kidding. I have to fight these zombies to a victory today."

Jiang Ning looked towards the city gate. It was quiet there too. He contacted Qin Xu and the call was quickly connected. Qin Xu's tired face appeared on the screen. He forced a smile and said, "Hi, my brother Xu. You look very tired."

Qin Xu glanced at him and said, "Well, I need your kiss to replenish my energy."

Meng Hu turned over and muttered, "That's corny."

I really didn't expect that the cold-faced Qin Xu could be so corny.

Jiang Ning pouted her lips and moved closer to the screen. She gave him a kiss: "Kiss! Give Brother Xu some energy." Then she put her face closer to the screen: "I want a kiss from Brother Xu too."

Qin Xu also gave him a kiss without hesitation.

The two of them clung to each other across the screen for a while. Then the zombie hordes began to move. Jiang Ning sat up on the roof of the car. "Qin Xu, see you later."

Qin Xu had too many people with special abilities, and their abilities were usually used on a large scale, which could easily lead to accidental injuries. So he hesitated and didn't call Jiang Ning over.

"Yeah, see you later."

The two men looked at each other and hung up the phone. Qin Xu did not give the order to retreat. The zombies surrounding them had left them with no way to retreat.

They must win this battle.

Jiang Ning closed his eyes and felt that apart from the zombies nearby, there were no zombies farther away. They were all coming closer. If they could win this time, they would have a long period of peace.

“Charge!!!”

Meng Hu shouted and limped out. The fight was so fierce that Jiang Ning was blood-thirsty. His hands were covered with wounds. Two fingers were twisted as he was trying to pull an iron rod out of a zombie's neck. He kicked the zombie that was pressing Meng Hu away. Meng Hu tried to get up, but he couldn't get up. He really had no strength left.

"Brother Hu! Wake up!" Jiang Ning shouted and slapped Meng Hu twice, causing Meng Hu to open his eyelids that were about to close. He dazedly saw two bloody zombies behind Jiang Ning, with their bloody mouths wide open as if trying to bite Jiang Ning.

Jiang Ning was still staring at Meng Hu and slapped him twice: "Brother Hu, can you hear me?"

Meng Hu raised his hand tremblingly: "Zombies, zombies, run!"

Meng Hu used up all his remaining strength, turned over suddenly, and tried to protect Jiang Ning with his body.

Jiang Ning felt dizzy and screamed as he changed directions with Meng Hu. Looking over Meng Hu's shoulder, he saw two zombies that were killed by thunder. At the moment of the thunder, he thought he saw the skeletons of the zombies.

"Qin Xu!"

Although he didn't see anyone, he knew it must be Qin Xu. Sure enough, a figure jumped over after a while, grabbed Meng Hu who was pressing on him, and threw him aside.

Meng Hu touched his body in disbelief. He was not bitten by the zombies.

Jiang Ning was pulled up by Qin Xu. Qin Xu hugged him and kissed him, then hurriedly left to go somewhere else to save people. The two of them didn't even have time to say a word.

"Ha! I didn't turn into a zombie." Meng Hu lay back down again without any strength.

Jiang Ning watched Qin Xu's back as he left. After killing another zombie, she fell to the ground next to Meng Hu with her legs weak.

Meng Hu looked up at the sky: "Jiang Ning, wait, just kill me. I don't want to become a zombie."

Jiang Ning's throat was sore and dry, and she didn't even have the strength to reply. In her peripheral vision, she saw people falling down one after another. The sky was filled with fire and dust, mixed with a strong smell of blood, which made her feel nauseous.

It seemed like they had lost this war.

Is everyone really going to turn into controlled zombies? His eyelids are so heavy that he wants to close them.

Crunching sound, something beneath him was frozen. Jiang Ning moved his head and watched the thin ice spread, eventually freezing the entire city.

His body was covered with white frost. Only one person could do this.

Jiang Ning didn't know where she got the strength from, but she sat up and turned to look into the distance. In the frozen world, Qin Xu's figure was floating in the air, with blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.

The spreading ice froze all the zombies nearby, making them unable to move. This was no longer a large-scale use of superpowers. Qin Xu was fighting for his life.

Blood kept gushing out of him, and those who reacted began to kill the zombies as quickly as possible.

Jiang Ning cried and got up, running towards Qin Xu: "Qin Xu!"
