Chapter 76 Wen Ran Disappears
Chapter 76
Yan Jue raised his hand to hold up Wen Xi's frame which was sliding down, and said, "A Quan, you guys should spread out a little and just follow Ran Ran."
Ah Quan glanced at the people around him who were constantly looking at him, smiled awkwardly, and exchanged a glance with Hu Zi, who then walked away. This dispersed the crowd, and the surrounding tourists began to circulate again, and Wen Xi's discomfort at being watched was alleviated a lot.
Wen Xi looked at the headband on her head in the small mirror on the shelf. She tilted her head, and the little bear on it also shook its head. With the round black-framed glasses, it looked a little silly.
"Are you a little bit dull?"
The little bun on the back of the boy's head came loose while he was playing, and he didn't know where the hairband fell. His hair was a little messy, and the fluffy plush just covered the black headband. On his round head, there were two small bears that looked like two plush ears.
Yan Jue first raised his phone to take a picture, and then, in front of Wen Xi's eyes that were expecting a different answer, he commented in a fair and conscientious tone: "It looks like a not-so-smart little bear that has become a spirit."
Wenxi: (⊙_⊙)
How can it be more stupid than being dumb?
Wen Xi pursed her lips unsatisfiedly: "Then I don't want this."
As he was about to take off his headband, Yan Jue stopped him in time, "It just looks a little silly, but it's actually very cute."
As he spoke, he pulled up the photos he had taken. Wen Xi took a look at the photos and found them indeed very cute. He paused and pretended to be in deep thought for three seconds before speaking: "If you think it looks good, buy it."
Yan Jue looked at the cocky Wen Xi, shook his phone, looked at him and smiled softly: "Okay, thank you Teacher Wen Xi for letting me feast my eyes."
Eyes met.
Wen Xi pursed her lips, restrained herself from getting cocky, raised her chin, and said nonchalantly, "It's my duty. You're welcome."
This little bear headband was naturally added to the shopping list. After shopping in the accessories area, the two of them walked outside and happened to run into Wen Ran who was being played by A Quan.
Wen Xi took out a little bear headband from the shopping bag and said, "I'll give you another little bear."
Wen Ran reached out and touched the little bear headband, turned around, took Wen Xi's hand, looked up and asked, "We are the same now, brother, does this look good on me?"
Wen Ran was wearing a little bear headband that looked like little bear ears, with big sparkling eyes and an ignorant look of unknown suffering, just like a baby bear. Wen Xi probably understood why Yan Jue called him a stupid bear spirit.
"Of course they are beautiful. I was just shopping with Brother Quan. Are there any toys you like?"
Wen Ran held up the stuffed lion doll in her hand and said, "My lion can talk. Look."
Wen Ran pinched the doll hard with her fingers, and a mechanical sound of "I love you" came out from the doll's chest.
Wen Ran shared enthusiastically: "The shopping guide also said it can record."
"Can it record audio?" Wen Xi was surprised that xx Amusement Park sold such a talking toy that could record audio. He picked up the doll, opened its vest, and found a button on the back.
Wen Xi pressed the button, and a system voice sounded, saying "Please start recording after the beep," followed by another beep. Wen Xi didn't say anything and pressed the button again, and the system voice sounded, saying "Recording ended."
After figuring out the procedure, Wenxi pointed at the button and said to her sister, "Press it once to start recording. When the beeping sound comes, you can speak. After speaking, press it again to record. Ranran, do you want to record?"
There were tourists nearby who were already recording in the store, and most of their words were "I love xx" and the like. Wen Ran held the doll, glanced at the people surrounding her, and suddenly buried her head in Wen Xi's arms: "Let's record it when we get home."
Wen Xi and Yan Jue and the others looked at each other, then looked down at Wen Ran's red ears. He could guess what his sister was going to say. His heart was pounding. He patted Wen Ran on the back and said, "Then go home and record it. I'm really curious about what you have to say."
"Do you want to know what your brother has to say?" Yan Jue asked.
Wen Ran couldn't resist the temptation and looked up at Wen Xi curiously: "What would my brother say to the lion?"
Wen Xi lowered his head and said mysteriously, "This is a big secret."
Wen Ran hugged Wen Xi and rocked him, and the little bear on top of his head also rocked his head: "Brother, brother, tell me."
As soon as Wen Ran softened her voice and started to act like a spoiled child, Wen Xi couldn't stand it anymore. He bowed down and squatted down. He was so soft-hearted that he had to pretend to be a mature adult as much as possible. After three seconds of contemplation, he said, "I'll tell you one person."
Wen Ran's eyes lit up instantly, and she hugged Wen Xi's neck and nodded, as serious as a soldier, covering her mouth with one hand while speaking through her fingers: "I will keep it a secret."
Wen Xi could hardly suppress the corners of his mouth that were raised, and he imitated Wen Ran's cautious appearance, put his hands together at his lips, leaned close to Wen Ran's ear and said seriously: "Of course, brother likes Ran Ran the most."
After Wen Xi finished speaking, he felt a kiss on his cheek, a very light yet solemn kiss. He widened his eyes and turned his head away in a daze.
Wen Ran's eyes sparkled, her expression was very happy, she covered her mouth and said cheerfully, "Then I'll tell you in secret, what I'm going to say is the same as my brother's."
Wenxi said: "Don't tell them our little secret."
"Little secret!"
The two smiled at each other. Yan Jue stood aside, looking at the shadows of the round ears standing up on the ground, and quietly took pictures with his camera.
After coming out of the shopping mall, it was almost two o'clock. Everyone was hungry, so they went to the park's specialty restaurant. After ordering, it was exactly two-thirty. They were at a square table, and the window opposite them just happened to see the afternoon park tour convoy.
This is a perfect shooting position. Wen Xi happened to have bought some peripheral dolls, so he took a lot of beautiful photos of Wen Ran with his camera. He planned to print them all out when he got back and make an album that records Wen Ran's life trajectory. When she grows up, no matter what the future holds, Wen Xi hopes that when she opens this album again, she will think of the happy moments, which will bring joy and comfort to Wen Ran.
The food was served and A Quan reminded Wen Xi to eat. Wen Xi then stopped reluctantly. Wen Ran wanted to see the photos, so Wen Xi gave her the camera and walked back to his seat.
When he was about to sit down, he noticed that the cap on Yan Jue's head was a little crooked. He raised his hand to touch it. Yan Jue instinctively tilted his head back, "What's wrong?"
Yan Jue was extremely busy. After dealing with his brother's car accident last night, he was still able to thoughtfully arrange today's outing and quietly take pictures behind him, giving Wen Ran and him a perfect outing experience.
The man was dressed in black today, black pants, black T-shirt and black hat. He was like silent lightning and also like a solid rock. The eyes that were regarded as cold and ruthless by others were now looking at him calmly.
Wenxi said: "Thank you."
Yan Jue was stunned for a moment, then lowered his hand, which was casually placed on the table, to Wen Xi's waist, and patted her to show his understanding.
Wen Xi rubbed the blunt edge of the cap with his fingers, feeling itchy. He looked at Yan Jue and leaned over involuntarily. Their faces got closer and closer. When their lips were about to collide, a loud "click" sound came unexpectedly from the opposite side.
Wen Xi was startled and trembled. He looked at the deep eyes so close to him, his eyes widened, his heart trembled suddenly, and he came back to his senses in an instant.
He quickly stepped back, pretended to be calm, straightened his hat, coughed twice, and said, "Your hat is crooked. I'll help you straighten it."
Then, under everyone's teasing looks, he sat back down, pretending to be calm.
Wen Ran sensed that the atmosphere was not right, so she walked over to Wen Xi with the camera in her arms. Looking at her brother's ears which were redder than tomatoes, her childish mind vaguely sensed something, and after hesitating for a moment, she walked around to Yan Jue and handed him the camera.
Yan Jue took the camera, and the latest picture on the screen was a photo of Wen Xi bending over, holding the brim of his hat, with their faces very close together, looking like they were kissing, but in fact they were not kissing.
"Brother, I didn't mean it." Wen Ran whispered, "I don't know why it was so loud. Did it disturb you?"
As Wen Ran questioned him seriously, Yan Jue looked at Wen Xi, whose ears were originally red. His cheeks slowly turned pink. He lowered his head and dared not look at people, like a pink bear who was caught stealing honey.
Yan Jue's eyes fell on this photo with a great atmosphere again, he curled his lips, raised his hand and patted the back of Pa Wenran's hand, and said in a soft voice: "I didn't disturb you, you did a great job."
Wen Ran asked uncertainly: "Really?"
"Really?" Yan Jue pointed at the photo and showed it to her. "It's a beautiful photo. I like it very much. My brother will like it too."
Wen Ran looked at the photo in which no face was shown, then met Yan Jue's affirmative eyes and nodded in confusion.
Yan Jue patted her on the back and said, "Let's go eat."
Since Yan Jue said it was okay, Wen Ran didn't bother herself any more. She nodded and put the matter behind her, then sat back in her seat and enjoyed her meal.
A Quan Huzi tactfully sat close to Wen Ran, fulfilling the duties of bodyguard and part-time nanny.
Yan Jue was fiddling with the camera, looking through the photos taken by Wen Ran. The girl pressed a few buttons casually to set it to continuous shooting mode, recording everything. Wen Xi noticed that his hat was crooked, and he wanted to straighten it, but for some reason he bent down to kiss his face.
He was flipping through the pages casually, and soon a pair of slender white fingers appeared in his sight, grabbed his wrist, and pulled the camera down without saying a word.
"I want to see that picture."
Wen Xi knew that Yan Jue was fiddling with the camera instead of eating just to wait for him to take the bait. Wen Xi, who had seen through everything, was determined not to be tempted by the bad man, but the desire to watch in her heart was like a kitten's paw, slowly scratching her sensitive heart.
It was so tempting that Wen Xi hadn't reacted yet, and her uncontrollable curiosity had already drawn her to Yan Jue.
Yan Jue lowered his eyes and looked at the little bear Wenxi who was showing an annoyed expression under his eyelids. He reached out and pinched the red tip of the stupid bear's ear.
Wen Xi paid the price of having one of his ears ravaged and finally got to see the photo as he wished.
In the photo, Yan Jue was lazily protecting his waist, looking like he was completely under control, while he was leaning down with one hand holding the brim of his hat and the other hand supporting the armrest of the seat, looking like he could not resist the temptation and was very eager.
"My sister captured the true nature of a certain pig. What do you think?"
Wen Xi raised her eyes and met Yan Jue's half-smiley gaze. Her throat rolled over, and she stood up. She said awkwardly but stubbornly, "I just wanted to hold your hat for you. It's just a borrowing of the position. Big stars always do this when filming movies."
Yan Jue casually placed the camera on the table, snapped his fingers, and said nonchalantly, "I don't believe it. I seriously suspect that the big star Wen has some intention of turning the fake into real."
Wen Xi, who actually wanted to make the fake play real, glanced at the bodyguard who pretended that he didn't exist, blushed and silently pulled the camera on the table to her side, and changed the subject very stiffly, saying: "Let's eat."
Yan Jue chuckled, and after a while, he heard a very soft murmur from the side: "I don't believe it either."
*
After finishing the meal and resting, it was almost 3:30 in the afternoon.
Today's garden tour mission had to continue. Just after walking out of the restaurant and not far from the amusement facilities, Wen Xi felt his hand being pulled. He looked down and saw Wen Ran with a red face. He said in a low voice very embarrassedly, "Brother, I want to go to the bathroom."
Wen Xi glanced at the three big boys next to her, looked around, saw the long queue for the bathroom, and gave Yan Jue a look. The three people opposite her were stunned for a moment and nodded a little awkwardly.
"I'll wait for you in the pavilion next to it." Yan Jue pointed to the lounge next to it.
Wen Xi nodded, took Wen Ran's hand and walked towards the bathroom.
There were always long queues of women in public places. Wen Xi held Wen Ran's hand a little unnaturally as they stood in the long queue of women.
Standing in the line, Wen Xi realized that Wen Ran actually brought a lion doll with him.
He glanced at the team whose turn it was about to take, and asked, "Please let me hold the lion."
Wen Ran hesitated and refused: "I want to take it."
Wen Xi didn't expect Wen Ran to be so obsessed with the lion doll. After thinking for a moment, he bent down and said, "Then be careful and don't drop it on the ground."
Wen Ran patted her coat pocket, which was just big enough to fit the palm-sized doll in, and vowed, "I will protect the lion."
Wen Xi rubbed her head and said, "I'll wait for you outside."
Although there were a lot of people, it was Wen Ran's turn soon.
Wen Ran went to the bathroom. It was not appropriate for Wen Xi to stand alone at the door of the women's restroom, so he moved to the side to avoid the sight of tourists.
Wen Xi was waiting for Wen Ran outside. It was a bit awkward to just stand there, so he took out his phone and shared the photos they took in the morning with Ming Yao.
Wenxi looked up in the direction of the bathroom. There was a change of tourists coming in and out, and he didn't recognize any of them. Perhaps because there were so many people, the cleaning staff pushed out a large cleaning cart.
There was no sign of Wen Ran. I looked at the time and saw that five minutes had passed.
Wen Xi thought that there might be a lot of people in the bathroom, and Wen Ran needed some time, so he lowered his head and continued to chat with Ming Yao. After another five minutes, there was still no one at the bathroom door.
Wen Xi looked at the line which was getting shorter and shorter. He was worried that Wen Ran might have an upset stomach after playing around all morning and having a large cup of shaved ice for lunch. He took a few steps forward anxiously.
After hesitating for a moment, he walked to the front and grabbed a female student who seemed easy to talk to.
"Hello."
The female student turned around and was stunned to see that it was a boy. She looked at the sign of the female restroom and asked in surprise, "What's wrong?"
Wen Xi showed the other person a photo of Wen Ran and said apologetically, "This is my sister, her name is Wen Ran. She is a five-year-old girl. She has been in for a while and hasn't come out yet. I'm worried that she is not feeling well. Can you help me check on her?"
The female student looked at the genuine anxiety and worry on Wenxi's face, nodded enthusiastically, and said, "Okay, I'll go and help you take a look, just wait a moment, don't worry."
After they finished talking, the female student went straight into the bathroom. Wenxi could still hear her say, "Sorry, I'm looking for my child." The female student's figure quickly disappeared from Wenxi's sight.
The park was crowded and noisy, so Wen Xi couldn't hear any voices from inside. After waiting for three or four minutes, the female student reappeared in front of him with an uncertain expression and said, "I'm sorry, I walked around and called Wen Ran many times, but no one responded. Did she go out by herself and didn't see you, so she went to look for someone else in your family?"
Wen Xi felt empty inside and said thank you with a stiff smile. The female student nodded and left, looking back every few steps. Wen Xi was very nervous and took out his cell phone to call Wen Ran's watch phone.
“Beep-beep-beep-beep”
The bell rang three times and was cut off.
When I called again, the system reported that the user's phone was turned off.
Click.
The phone fell to the ground.
Wen Xi staggered back a step, his face pale.
Wen Ran is missing.
