Dirty thoughts

Dirty thoughts

The initial trip in the morning went smoothly, but the sky was very gloomy. Lu Yu looked up at the sky and ordered, "Speed up, it's going to rain soon."

Fugui, the coachman, responded and whipped the horse faster.

Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. In less than half an hour, it began to rain heavily, and the raindrops fell like broken strings.

Even though Bai Miaoke was holding an oil-paper umbrella on horseback, a large area of the hem of her clothes was wet.

She was wearing a light blue waisted robe today. After being wet by the rain, the color became darker. From a distance, it looked like an irregular landscape painting.

But her mood was not so good. She frowned as she looked at the muddy road under her feet and the endless empty wilderness beside her.

"The rain will probably continue for another half an hour. Come with me to the car to take shelter from the rain." Lu Yu's voice sounded behind him.

He was also holding an oil-paper umbrella and looked up. Bai Miaoke looked at him through the rain curtain and felt that his sharp eyes had become hazy.

She quietly touched the painting in her arms, jumped off her horse and walked towards him.

It was the first time she got on his carriage in two days. She didn't see Chun Xing following. She was about to call out, but the man opposite her spoke as if he could read her mind: "Your maid and Fugui are in the car at the back."

After hearing this, Bai Miaoke sat down with peace of mind and looked around the furnishings in the carriage.

The interior of the carriage was very simply furnished, with only a long couch and a small square table with writing brushes, ink and a teapot on the table.

Lu Yu picked up the teapot and poured two cups of water, then pushed one of the cups in front of Bai Miaoke.

Because there was only one long couch, the two of them sat side by side, with half an arm's length between them. Bai Miaoke could just see the man's well-defined profile.

She thanked him, picked up the warm tea and drank it all in one gulp, feeling her limbs that had been chilled by the rain warm up.

Lu Yu poured her another cup of tea, then spoke slowly: "What are you looking for? Why don't you just ask me directly."

Bai Miaoke sighed in his heart. He had indeed guessed that he was the one who took the painting. What an old fox!

After thinking for a moment, she spoke slowly: "I... I happened to see that when I passed by, and then..."

After stumbling over her words, she reflected in her heart that her lying skills were getting worse and worse, and how could she come up with such a lame excuse.

Lu Yu couldn't help laughing and asked with a smile, "Passing by? Miss Bai, are you saying you passed by my bedroom again in the middle of the night?"

Hearing the word "again" that he emphasized, Bai Miaoke felt a little shy for the first time in her life. The heat quietly climbed up her cheeks from her heart. She took out the painting from her arms and threw it to Lu Yu in anger.

The man took the painting with both hands and did not let it fall to the ground. He turned around and saw Bai Miaoke's rosy face.

As far as Lu Yu could remember, this was the first time he saw this "little liar" blush, and he couldn't help but look at him twice more.

It was not until Bai Miaoke was about to hit someone that he unfolded the painting on the table and asked sincerely, "Do you like it?"

Bai Miaoke was stunned for a moment, not realizing what he was saying, until she followed his gaze and saw the back of the woman in the painting.

It was the first time someone drew her, even though it was just her back. She naturally liked it in her heart, but Bai Miao didn't want to admit it. She snorted and didn't answer.

Lu Yu suddenly said, "I like it."

This time Bai Miao was really stunned. She didn't know whether he was talking about the painting or the person... She turned her head to look at him and happened to meet his serious eyes.

It was the first time that Bai Miaoke felt her heart beating so fast that she felt the sound of her heartbeat almost drowned out the sound of rain outside.

Bai Miaoke had to admit that this man was quite handsome and looked at her so seriously that it was hard for her not to be moved.

But she still has important things to do!

She cleared her throat and decided to take the initiative: "The Prime Minister has a good eye."

Hearing this, Lu Yu smiled again, and looked at Bai Miaoke's red ears and her pretended calm words in a good mood.

It doesn't matter, he has always been a patient hunter.

Isn't it said that the Prime Minister is aloof and arrogant? Bai Miaoke felt that he smiled too much today...

Then, she saw the man slowly and methodically rolled up the painting and put it into a wooden painting tube, then placed it on a shelf nearby.

There were several similar painting tubes placed on it. Bai Miaoke looked around, trying to see if there was a route map inside.

The man's calm voice returned: "I have memorized the route by heart, just follow me."

Then he added: "Don't worry."

Bai Miaoke felt a little complicated. She was the young master of the Bai family, and she was the only one who made the decisions on even the tens of thousands of taels of silver business. She was also the one who had the final say in Yueying Pavilion, and no one dared to force her to take on tasks she didn't want to do.

It was the first time someone spoke to her in such a coaxing tone, and she did not respond.

He just listened to the sound of rain outside which had become much lighter, lifted the car curtain and took a look, then said to Lu Yu: "The rain has lightened a lot, let's continue on our way."

After saying that, he prepared to get up and get off the car.

Lu Yu subconsciously grabbed the corner of her clothes, and she turned around to look at him.

As if he felt something was wrong, Lu Yu held out his hand again and said, "Just take the carriage. We'll be there soon."

Bai Miaoke's attention was attracted by the hands he retracted. They were a pair of slender, white hands with distinct joints. At this moment, they were clenched into fists, and several blue veins on the back of their hands were clearly visible.

She started to daydream again...

So I just sat down again and thought, I will be leaving tomorrow, so it would be nice to look at the handsome guy again.

After she sat firmly, Lu Yu raised his voice and asked everyone to set off.

Accompanied by the sound of staggered horse hooves and rain, Bai Miaoke was chatting with Lu Yu at first, but soon she felt a little sleepy.

She didn't know why she felt so sleepy next to this man, and fell asleep without realizing it.

The path was muddy and uneven after the rain, and even though the guards were extremely careful, the carriage still couldn't stop shaking.

Bai Miaoke's head, which was resting on the car wall, also swayed.

Lu Yu stared at her for a few seconds, then moved towards her calmly, so that the two of them were only less than a fist's distance apart.

When the carriage passed by the puddle and shook again, Bai Miaoke's head leaned on Lu Yu's shoulder.

She rubbed it unconsciously, found a more comfortable angle, and fell asleep again.

Lu Yu felt the top of her hair against his neck, and a few strands of hair brushed against his skin, causing an itch, but he didn't dare to move for fear of waking her up.

Lu Yu's body was stiff and he remained motionless, but his heartbeat was getting faster and faster. He tried to calm his heartbeat, but it was in vain.

He lowered his head slightly to look at the woman's calm face. Her eyelashes were long and dense, casting a faint shadow on her fair skin.

Her skin without makeup is as smooth as a baby's, and only a small mole at the corner of her eye adds a bit of liveliness.

Looking down, she saw the slightly pursed red lips. Lu Yu couldn't help but think about how soft those lips must be, and her throat rolled unconsciously.

Lu Yu's eyes continued to move downwards, and she saw the light blue man's robe. She must have made some disguises, and the wide robes concealed her curves, but Lu Yu suddenly remembered her graceful figure when she pretended to be a dancer in Zuichunlou, and suddenly looked away, spitting on her own dirty thoughts in her heart.

The carriage swayed slowly for half an hour before arriving at Yecheng.

"Master, we have arrived at Yecheng." Fugui's voice sounded outside the car.

Bai Miaoke's eyelashes trembled, but she still didn't wake up.

Lu Yu tilted his head slightly to look at her, frowning, feeling that something was wrong. He raised his hand and placed it on the girl's forehead, feeling the burning temperature.

Suddenly the car curtain was lifted, and Fugui and Rong Qing, who had not heard his response, stood outside the car with nervous faces, both stunned.

They looked with complicated expressions at the handsome scholar leaning on the Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister's hand on the scholar's face, and were speechless for a moment.

It was Fugui who reacted first. He closed the curtain and said to the people outside as calmly as possible: "Sir, it's okay. Everyone, go and guard."

Knowing that they had misunderstood something, Lu Yu was not in the mood to dwell on it now because Bai Miaoke had a fever.

It was his fault that his body was too stiff just now and he didn't notice her abnormality.

He ordered, "Go into the city and find a clinic immediately."

Although he deliberately lowered his voice, Bai Miaoke still woke up. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, not realizing that she had just leaned on the man.

Lu Yu secretly moved his numb shoulders and said, "You seem to have a fever."

Bai Miaoke touched her slightly hot face and muttered, "No wonder I feel so tired."

She then asked, "How long did I sleep?"

"More than half an hour." Lu Yu replied.

Feeling the carriage still rumbling, Bai Miaoke opened the side curtain and asked, "Are we in Yecheng now?"

Lu Yu nodded lightly, and listening to her still energetic voice, his heart gradually settled down.

Bai Miaoke was still looking at the street vendors and several shops with white signs. She was in a good mood and was not affected by her physical discomfort at all.

She asked excitedly, "Shall we go eat first? How about that restaurant?"

As she spoke, she pointed to a restaurant on the side of the road and showed it to Lu Yu. The latter looked in the direction of her finger towards the three-story restaurant. He knew without asking that this was another property of the Bai family.

"Not yet." His tone left no room for rejection.

Bai Miaoke glared at him unhappily: "Then where are we going now?"

Before Lu Yu could reply, the carriage stopped at a roadside clinic.

Bai Miaoke's face wrinkled and her eyes widened: "It's just a minor cold, I don't need to see a doctor!"

She had been practicing martial arts since she was young and had always been in good health, rarely falling ill. This cold was most likely caused by sleeping outdoors in the past few days and the light rain she had just gotten in.

She dared to say that she didn't need to take any medicine and would be fine after a good night's sleep the next day.

But she underestimated how stubborn Prime Minister Lu was on certain matters. He asked, "Do you want to go down yourself or ask them to invite the doctor in?"

Bai Miaoke sighed helplessly, compromising. She straightened her messy sleeping clothes and prepared to get off the bus.

Lu Yu suddenly raised his hand and gently smoothed a strand of her hair. Bai Miaoke gave him a grateful look and jumped out of the car first.

Breathing the fresh air after the rain, she felt refreshed both physically and mentally, and all her illnesses disappeared.

Lu Yu got out of the car behind her, and as soon as he got off the car, he noticed the inquiring gazes of the guards around him.

They were all from the Jinyiwei who knew the rules, so even if they were curious they were very secretive. Unfortunately they could not escape the attention of the Prime Minister who was the most observant of people's words and expressions.

Fugui asked with concern: "Sir, are you feeling unwell?"

He coughed lightly, shook his head, and said to Bai Miaoke: "Let's go."

Bai Miaoke lowered her head and followed him into the clinic.
