Wedding Day
"Miss, please get up and dress quickly. The matchmaker is here!" Chun Xing gently shook Bai Miaoke, trying to wake her up.
Bai Miaoke narrowed her eyes and glanced at the sky outside. It was the dim morning light, just beginning to brighten.
She was about to cover her head and continue sleeping when she heard Chun Xing saying earnestly, "Miss, today is your wedding day. If you don't get up now, you won't have time to put on your makeup!"
"There are many guests today. When the time comes..."
"Okay, okay, I'm up!" Bai Miaoke pulled back the quilt and interrupted her chatter.
Four matchmakers rushed in. Bai Miaoke was too lazy to move, so she let them put clothes on her.
The matchmakers kept moving their hands and praising her endlessly: "The princess's figure is really..."
"Yes, the groom is really lucky."
"My lady, let me help you put on your makeup."
Bai Miaoke sat there yawning until the matchmaker started to knead the noodles for her. Bai Miaoke screamed and was woken up by the pain.
"What is this for?" She touched the place where she had been strangled and took a deep breath.
"Princess, the bride has to go through this step before putting on makeup." The matchmaker wanted to continue.
"No need, just put on your makeup." Bai Miaoke quickly refused.
The matchmaker wanted to say something, but was stopped by Chun Xing's eyes.
An hour later, Bai Miaoke finally finished her makeup, wearing a phoenix crown and a bridal gown, and painted her lips red.
If she is usually very bright and elegant, she is even more beautiful after being dressed up today. The gorgeous wedding dress is just the icing on the cake for her. All eyes are attracted by her exquisite and beautiful face.
"Princess, please put on your veil and wait here for the groom to pick you up." The matchmaker came over with the veil in her hand and said.
"Give it to me." Chun Xing took the veil from her hand, but had no intention of covering it.
Bai Miaoke lifted her skirt and walked out.
The matchmaker hurriedly asked, "Princess, where are you going? You should wait in the room."
Bai Miaoke glanced at her, not wanting to spoil the fun of her wedding day, so she said, "If you have nothing to do, come and hold up my skirt for me, so I can walk faster."
Several matchmakers were speechless and looked at each other, not daring to offend this man again.
Bai Miaoke ignored them and went ahead in a hurry.
In order to catch up with her wedding, Yu's uncle and Zhuyu's cousin rushed to the capital from Jiangnan a month in advance. They just arrived last week and stayed in Bai's house.
When Bai Miaoke arrived at the front hall, Mr. Bai was talking to Uncle Yu. When they saw her, everyone present fell silent.
Mr. Bai looked at his daughter in her wedding dress and couldn't help but redden his eyes. He turned his head away and secretly wiped away his tears.
The same was true for Uncle Yu. He was unable to see his younger sister get married in person, but seeing his niece, who looked so much like his younger sister, get married made up for his regrets.
"Dad, uncle, why are you crying? Doesn't it look ugly?" Bai Miaoke looked a little surprised.
Zhu Yu, who was standing by, couldn't help but say, "My cousin looks so good today! They are just so happy that they are crying with joy, right?"
"Yes! Yes! My dear daughter is getting married, Dad is happy!" Mr. Bai put on a pleased smile.
Uncle Yu, who was standing by, seemed to have thought of something and asked, "Xiao Ke, why did you come out? Shouldn't you be in the backyard?"
"I've also invited some friends to witness it, so I have to entertain them." Bai Miaoke said as a matter of course.
The two elders felt that something seemed to be wrong, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong for a while.
Soon a servant came in with the guests.
The first ones to arrive were Xiao Heng and Mudan. The last time Bai Miaoke saw them at Zuichunlou, they were both hiding from each other. This time, Mudan was holding Xiao Heng's arm, and the two looked much closer.
Bai Miaoke's eyes darted back and forth between the two of them. She wanted to ask what was going on, but Mudan grabbed her arm.
"It turns out to be my dear sister. I thought she was a goddess from heaven!" Mudan looked at her over and over again, praising her incessantly: "Beautiful! So beautiful!"
Bai Miaoke felt embarrassed and whispered, "Okay, okay, stop talking!"
Xiao Heng said hello to the elders present and then stopped talking. Master Bai looked at him with some worry. This child was raised by him, and he had been interested in Xiao Ke before. Master Bai couldn't help but worry that he would be unable to get over it.
Noticing the old man's gaze, Xiao Heng said, "Uncle, I want to talk to Xiao Ke alone."
Mr. Bai did not comment. After all, they grew up together, and Xiao Heng spent almost as much time with Bai Miaoke as he did with her biological brother Bai Yongsi.
Bai Miaoke subconsciously glanced at Mudan, and seeing that the latter had no reaction, she followed him to the corridor that could be seen at the back.
"Hey, what's going on between you and Mudan?" Bai Miaoke asked curiously.
Xiao Heng's emotions, which had just been brewing, were interrupted by her. His eyes unconsciously glanced at Mudan who was sitting in the house drinking tea, and a shy expression appeared on his face.
Bai Miaoke couldn't help laughing out loud, and the phoenix crown on her head jingled, bringing Xiao Heng back to his senses.
He looked at Bai Miaoke with a complicated expression and said, "Although he is the prime minister, if he treats you badly in the future, just tell me and I will kill him."
Bai Miaoke raised her eyebrows and teased, "On my wedding day, you say these unpleasant things? If he treated me badly, would you still have to do anything?"
Xiao Heng also smiled, and for the first time he spoke to her in a brotherly tone: "Xiao Ke, I hope you can be happy."
Bai Miaoke nodded vigorously and said with a smile: "You too!"
When the two were walking back, a servant came to report that the wedding carriage had arrived at the door.
"Are we there? Let me go take a look!" Bai Miaoke smiled happily and was about to walk out when she was stopped by her father.
"No! Wait here." Bai Miaoke pouted, but finally sat down and waited quietly.
Lu Yu came quickly and didn't keep her waiting for long.
The sound of gongs and drums was heard, and the matchmaker shouted "The groom is here!"
Lu Yu, who was also wearing a red wedding dress, had a straight posture, a dignified bearing, a handsome face, and was extraordinarily handsome. He walked in with a smile in his eyes, and when he saw Bai Miaoke sitting opposite him, the corners of his lips curved.
Bai Miaoke was also looking at him, following his footsteps with sparkling eyes. The two looked at each other, and Bai Miaoke read bright surprise in his eyes.
I couldn't help but give him a huge smile and wink.
Lu Yu couldn't hold back the smile any longer and looked away reluctantly.
"The son-in-law has met his father-in-law. You can rest assured to leave Ke'er to me." Lu Yu bowed deeply to Mr. Bai.
"Okay, okay, you have to treat her well." Mr. Bai's eyes were red again.
Bai Miaoke stepped forward, took Master Bai's arm and said, "Let's go, we still have to go to the wedding ceremony."
The big house they had previously taken a fancy to had already been renovated according to Bai Miaoke's ideas. Since there was no marriage involved, the two families unanimously agreed to get married there.
When the group reached the door, Lu Yu suddenly stopped, picked up Bai Miaoke and carried her horizontally, and put her into the bridal sedan in front of the onlookers on the street.
"Is this the Miss Bai? Why doesn't she cover her head with a veil?"
"Hush, keep your voice down. She is a princess now. She is so beautiful. If I looked like this, I would not wear a veil."
The sound of passers-by talking came over, and Bai Miaoke and Lu Yu smiled at each other.
Of course there is a veil, it is just a little interest of the couple. Bai Miaoke still wants to see her wedding with her own eyes and show off the phoenix crown on her head that weighs four kilograms. She can't wear it in vain.
The sedan chair swayed slightly as it moved forward. Bai Miaoke lifted the curtain and immediately saw Lu Yu riding a tall horse in the front.
Looking at his straight back, Bai Miaoke couldn't help but think of the day she saw him paraded through the streets as the top scholar a few years ago. He was also so high-spirited and it immediately touched her heart.
Those neglected girlish feelings finally took root, sprouted, and bore sweet fruit.
The sedan chair stopped and the matchmaker shouted for the bride to get out. Bai Miaoke lifted the curtain and saw her brother Bai Yongsi standing in front of the sedan door, blocking Lu Yu behind him.
"I'll carry you in." Bai Yongsi bent down, picked up his sister, and walked into the hall step by step.
The Duke of Zhenguo and his wife had been waiting here for a long time, and Mr. Bai and Uncle Yu also sat in the main seats.
"First bow to heaven and earth, second bow to parents, and then husband and wife bow to each other."
"The ceremony is over."
The guests were divided into seats for men and women. The bride was supposed to be waiting in the room for the bridal chamber, but Bai Miaoke sat in the female seat.
"Thank you all for coming to watch the ceremony. You're welcome!" Bai Miaoke said, then picked up the wine glass and drank it all.
Seeing how cheerful she was, the women present toasted her one after another. Bai Miaoke was in a good mood today, so she drank a few more glasses. Finally, Mrs. Lu saw that she was a little drunk and personally sent her back to her room.
However, few of the male guests dared to force Lu Yu to drink. His thunderous methods from a few days ago were still having an impact, and he had no intention of dealing with them.
After hearing a bunch of auspicious words, it was already dark, so Lu Yu said goodbye and went to the backyard.
Bai Miaoke had already taken off her phoenix crown and was lying on the bed, letting Chun Xing comb her hair.
Lu Yu walked in quietly. Chun Xing wanted to salute when she saw this, but was stopped by Lu Yu. He took the comb from her hand and sat down on the bed to continue.
Chun Xing tactfully left, leaving only two people in the room.
Lu Yu picked up a strand of her long hair and played with it in his hand, looking deeply at the girl lying on the bed. The fitting crimson inner garment outlined her slim figure.
Bai Miaoke rested her head on her arm with her eyes half drunken, and said incoherently, "Chun Xing, go see if Lu Yu is here."
"A night of spring is worth a thousand gold, so don't waste it."
"I'm going to do it hard... hehehe."
"By the way, where's the veil? Bring it to me quickly."
Bai Miaoke's rambling words made the man behind her curl his lips. He stood up, picked up the veil on the table, and said, "Here, my lady."
Hearing his voice, Bai Miaoke turned around slowly, and after seeing his face clearly, she pounced on him.
A light scent of fruit wine accompanied by the fragrance of gardenia wafted in the air. Lu Yu held her in one hand and walked to the table. He picked up the wine jug on the table and poured two glasses of wine.
When Bai Miaoke picked up the wine glass and was about to drink it all, the man grabbed her wrist and passed it through his arm.
"Be good, let's drink from the wedding cup." Lu Yu coaxed softly.
After drinking, Bai Miaoke yelled that she wanted to take a bath, so Lu Yu simply picked her up and said, "My dear, let me help you take a bath."
"Okay, then you have to serve me well." Bai Miaoke said as she casually placed her hand on his chest, rumbling his wedding dress.
The bedroom is connected to the bathroom. The servants have already prepared hot water, and the view is of a misty hot spring.
Bai Miaoke was already drunk, and looking at Lu Yu at this moment was more like looking at flowers in the fog, which was particularly tempting.
Then Lu Yu carried her to the bathtub and sat her down. Then two identical red undergarments were thrown aside.
Bai Miaoke soaked in hot water to wash away the day's fatigue. She sighed comfortably, and the alcohol smell was a little bit sober. However, her little face was flushed with a new blush from the steam, like a ripe peach, making people want to take a bite.
Lu Yu did exactly that.
The man's large, bony hands clasped her head tightly, leaving her no room to escape, and the two of them exchanged breaths without letting each other know.
Bai Miaoke felt like she was about to drown in his gentle embrace. One hand clung tightly to his shoulders which were covered with water droplets, while the other hand grabbed a handle under the water.
Lu Yu paused, temporarily letting go of her lips, and leaned over to her ear and said in a hoarse voice: "My lady, be gentle, if you scratch it, you will be a widow for life."
Bai Miaoke wanted to let go guiltily, but he grabbed her arm.
"I'll teach you." The man whispered in her ear.
Maybe it was because the water was too hot, but Bai Miaoke felt her palms were burning and her body was gradually getting hot.
The two people's black hair was wet and tangled in the water, rising and falling in the water, splashing water and causing ripples.
For a moment, the only sounds were the faint groans and the sound of splashing water, which lasted for a long time.
