Chapter 143 Beauty Quarter (Part 11)

Huan Yu looked at Chu Yu inside and saw him nod, so she told the little demons to start searching.

Who is Po Yue?

Hua stared blankly at Chu Yu and the others with her big, watery eyes.

"It's just an insignificant fox."

Before Chu Yu could say anything, there was a knock on the door.

"Your Highness Huan Yu."

Judging from the voice, it was that demon from before. Hua tilted his head to look, and sure enough, it was him.

"What is it?"

The little demon seemed not to recognize Chu Yu and the others. He bowed to Huan Yu and said, "Lord Huan Yu, Lord Po Yue died tragically in the alley of West Street last night. This place is not far from the Beauty Quarter. May I ask if Your Highness heard any fighting sounds last night?"

Huan Yu waved her fan and said without any politeness, "Never."

The little demon, with fine beads of sweat on his forehead, said humbly, "In that case, I'll take my leave."

Judging from the way the little demon hurriedly retreated, it seemed to be a routine matter. Her legs were trembling as she walked out.

Hua's eyes darted around, but she couldn't get any answers from Chu Yu. She turned to Wan Ke with her big eyes and asked, "Sister Wan Ke, who is Po Yue? Does she have a high status among the demons?"

It's worth making such a big fuss about finding the murderer, after all, this Beauty Pavilion is Huan Yu's territory, not some nameless or unknown place.

Wan Ke glanced at Chu Yu, and seeing that he did not stop her, she told him everything she knew, "Liao Liao, Lord Po Yue is one of the four great demon envoys of our demon realm, and also the most mysterious. He has not appeared in public for many years."

"However, he died mysteriously in a small alley on West Street last night. The murderer was extremely cruel. When Lord Poyue's body was found, all eight of his tails were severed!"

Hua Ben had been listening attentively, but when he heard Wan Ke say that the Eight-Tails had been completely severed, he asked again in surprise, "Sister Wan Ke, what did you say? The Eight-Tails?!"

Wan Ke was confused by Hua's question, "Yeah, what's wrong?"

Hua Hua asked with a serious expression, "That so-called Lord Yue is an eight-tailed fox?"

Wan Ke didn't know why Hua asked that, but seeing Hua's serious expression, she slowly nodded and said, "That's right, and Lord Po Yue's cultivation is profound. It is said that there are faint signs that he is about to break through to the Eight-Tailed Celestial Fox stage, but..."

Wan Ke continued with great regret, "Unfortunately, he was brutally murdered last night. The demon envoy of the demon realm was killed for no reason. This is no small matter. The demon king has ordered a thorough investigation."

Upon hearing that the deceased was an eight-tailed fox, Hua glanced at Chu Yu intentionally or unintentionally, then continued to ask Wan Ke, "Sister Wan Ke, when that eight-tailed fox transformed into human form, was it an old woman?"

"That's right. Lord Poyue is said to be almost 300,000 years old, but he has not been able to advance any further, so his appearance has gradually aged."

Now Hua was even more certain that the so-called demon envoy Po Yue was most likely the same Po Yue who had tried to kill her. Moreover, Hua secretly thought that it must have been Chu Yu who made the move last night.

After all, although Wan Ke and the others knew that she had been injured by the eight-tailed fox, only she and Chu Yu from yesterday knew about it and had actually seen the eight-tailed fox.

Chu Yu killed a demon envoy as soon as he arrived in the demon realm. Hua's heart pounded. It wasn't that she was afraid of causing trouble. That old hag deserved to die for daring to treat her like that. However, Chu Yu was being far too blatant.

Couldn't we have solved it discreetly without leaving a trace?

She reasonably suspected that Chu Yu did this on purpose.

Wan Ke listened to Hua's question with slight confusion, "Has Liao Liao met Lord Po Yue before?"

Without thinking too much about it, he simply said, "We've met twice before."

Wan Ke didn't think much about why someone who had just been resurrected less than three months ago and had just arrived in the demon realm would know a demon envoy who hadn't been seen in the demon realm for a long time. She just assumed that Chu Yu had told her about it.

Without paying close attention to Hua's expression, Huan Yu noticed the unusual interaction between Hua and Chu Yu, and guessed that the matter might not be as simple as Hua had said.

Hua, who hadn't been in a hurry to leave just moments before, now grabbed Chu Yu's hand and started walking out, saying to Wan Ke and the others, "Sister Wan Ke, Huan Yu, I suddenly remembered that I have something important to do. I have to go now, let's get together another day."

Before the sound faded, Hua and Chu Yuren had already vanished without a trace.

Once they arrived at their courtyard in the demon realm, Hua released Chu Yu's hand, crossed her arms, and walked around Chu Yu twice with an air of authority.

She raised her eyebrows slightly, looking at Chu Yu, "Chu Yu, don't you have anything to say?"

Before Chu Yu could speak, he put on a fierce expression and warned, "Confess and you'll be treated leniently, resist and you'll be punished severely! So I advise you to tell the truth honestly."

Chu Yu feigned innocence and looked at Hua with a blank expression. "Liao Liao, what do you mean by that? I don't understand what you're talking about."

Hua saw right through Chu Yu's little scheme at a glance. "You're still pretending? You killed Po Yue, didn't you?"

Seeing that his act had been exposed, Chu Yu stopped pretending and admitted directly, "I killed her. She should have died 110,000 years ago!"

Chu Yu's words were filled with such hostility that Hua couldn't help but lean closer and gently hook her little finger around Chu Yu's large hand. "Chu Yu, it's all in the past. She's dead now."

So you don't need to worry about it so much. However, Hua couldn't bring herself to say it. She also didn't approve of Chu Yu using such cruel methods to end that old hag. She didn't want Chu Yu to become like that. Her Chu Yu should be as pure as the moon and as cold as frost, untouched by the dust of the world.

But,

Everything Chu Yu did was for her.

Hua buried her head in Chu Yu's arms, her voice low and full of heartache as she said, "Chu Yu, you really don't have to do this. She's not worth you getting your hands dirty."

Chu Yu held Hua tightly in his arms. Where Hua couldn't see, Chu Yu's face was ashen. "Liao Liao, anyone who hurts you deserves to die!"

All those who have hurt you deserve to die!

Hua hugged Chu Yu's waist tenderly; she didn't want Chu Yu, such a good man, to have his hands stained with blood.

Such a good person like Chu Yu doesn't deserve someone like that.

The two remained silent for a long time, cuddling together until the sun had completely set. Hua poked her fluffy little head out of Chu Yu's arms.

He said pitifully, "Chu Yu~ I'm hungry~"

Chu Yu smiled indulgently and rubbed the little boy's smudged hair. "Let's go, we can't go hungry."

She sweetly replied, "Okay."

The warm candlelight in the corridor cast long shadows of the two people as they walked hand in hand toward the brightly lit area.
