Chapter 24 Staying together

Chapter 24 Staying together

On a sunny day, clusters of white clouds rise from behind the teaching building and are reflected in the small puddles beside the playground. The blue and white are intertwined together, like a flowing oil painting.

"How is Sister Ling's health?" Yuan sat on the sidelines, his hands on his chin, his eyes glued to the blue and white school uniforms on the court.

"The doctor said that my body is not in a stable condition after the operation and needs to be observed."

"I see," Yuan turned around to look at her, "but you look terrible," he raised a hand and stroked her forehead, muttering to himself, "Could it be that you have a cold?"

Feng Jian smiled and slapped her hand away. "How can you catch a cold so easily? I can help Sister Ling carry ten bags of rice a day."

"Hi hi~" Yuan responded with a smile, "Is it okay to call me King Kong Barbie?"

"Are you looking for a fight?"

"I don't want to," Yuan returned to the topic, his eyes fell on Fuji, and suddenly said, "Speaking of which, something very unpleasant happened on the day of the last competition."

"What's wrong"

Because Sister Ling's condition was unstable, she had been running around the school, the restaurant, and the hospital in the past few days, and was very busy. So she asked Yuan to help her record the data. Unexpectedly, it rained heavily on the day of the competition, causing the competition to be postponed for a week.

It seems that I have missed a lot of things.

"You weren't here that day, so you don't know how much that Kirihara Akaya said. Even Senior Fuji got angry." She clenched her fists, as if ready to hit someone at any moment. "Although Rikkai University is indeed powerful, they are really arrogant."

Kirihara Akaya

Kirihara

The boy's face of scratching his head flashed through his mind, and Feng Jian was startled: "Which Kirihara?"

"That's it."

Yuan took out a photo and showed it to him, pointing to the curly-haired boy in the khaki team uniform in the video. It turned out to be the boy who kindly led the way in the hospital last time.

"What did he say?"

"Not only did he injure Captain Tachibana of Fudomine, he also called him half-hearted, saying he was injured on the field because he lacked the skills," Yuan said, puffing out his cheeks, looking furious as if ready to fight. "And most importantly, he even said that President Tezuka was injured and absent. He said President Tezuka was also half-hearted!"

"If Senior Gan hadn't stopped me, I would have rushed forward..."

"What!"

Yuan's next words were interrupted by Fengjian's sudden standing up. The girl's voice suddenly rose eight degrees, instantly attracting everyone in the stadium.

"Well, April, what's wrong?"

Yuan carefully tugged at her clothes.

"They are more than just a little arrogant," Feng Jian crumpled the paper in his hand into a ball, with countless black crosses appearing on his forehead. "They are so arrogant that they are lawless."

He actually crossed her bottom line.

Next time I meet that guy, I must extort a guide fee from him!

——

"In order to be in better shape for the match against Rikkai University in a week, I have discussed with the principal that we should all go to a five-day training camp at the villa in Karuizawa."

As soon as Coach Ryuzaki finished speaking, cheers erupted in the moving bus.

"A villa, sounds great." Bu Er smiled as he flipped through the magazine in his hand.

"Hiss~" Kaitang stared at the huge building in the magazine.

"Then do we not have to go back to class?" Kikumaru clenched his palms, his eyes eager to try.

"That sounds great." Taocheng responded quickly.

"Do you realize that you're about to face graduation?" Ryuzaki rolled his eyes at them. "You'll have to attend tutoring after the finals."

"Ah - I don't want to tutor." Kikumaru fell on Daishi like a wilted cucumber.

"Well, studying is also important, Eiji," Oishi advised.

"It's too early for me, I'm only in the second year," Momoshiro laughed and deliberately moved closer to Kikumaru, "but Eiji-senpai is already in the third year and will graduate next year..."

Before he could finish his words, he was slapped on the forehead. Coach Ryuzaki put his hands on his hips and said sternly, "It's no use being at the bottom of the class. Momoshiro and Teacher Toyota have both told me several times that if you fail the exams again, your participation in club activities will be shortened."

"No way—"

Momoshiro's wailing, accompanied by the low laughter of the others in the car, lingered in the sky above Karuizawa for a long time.

After a while, the bus slowly stopped in the open space in front of the villa.

"No way! Is this really where we're going to stay for the next few days?" Kikumaru stared at the villa in front of him in amazement. "Will there be any weird things?"

"hiss......"

Haitang looked at the beautiful villa in the magazine, then looked at the building in front of him with peeling walls and crumbling windows. He clenched the magazine in his hand, with an expression of being deeply deceived.

A few green frogs jumped over him. Kikumaru cried out "Wow!" and reflexively jumped up and hung on Daishi. "Daishi, what is this!"

"It's just a frog. Didn't Eiji-senpai play with it as a kid?" Momoshiro put his hands behind his head and walked towards the gate. "It's just an ordinary house. How can there be such strange things..."

The voice stopped abruptly when the door in front of him was slowly opened from the inside. Momoshiro was petrified instantly, and his whole body was like a cat with its fur standing on end. He shouted "Ghost! Ahhhhh——" and rushed behind Kawamura.

"Atao~~" Kikumaru silently cast a look of contempt.

"That's really offensive, Momoshiro-senpai~"

As the door opened, two petite figures came into view. The girl with twin ponytails took off her mask and put her hands on her hips, "It's us!"

Coach Ryuzaki explained with a smile, "I asked them to come and clean up in advance."

"Anyone else?"

"Has Kazama and Minamoto already arrived by now?"

"Grandma, Kazama-senpai and Minamoto-senpai are cleaning the bedrooms on the second floor."

"Hey, Kazama is here too. Doesn't she have a cold?"

"Having a cold doesn't conflict with coming to the training camp," another slightly hoarse voice interrupted. Everyone turned around and saw the girl holding a broom standing on the stairs, a white mask covering half of her face. "I brought a whole bag of medicine."

The night in Karuizawa was extremely quiet, so quiet that one could clearly hear the shallow breathing and muttering of others. The moon in the mountains poured down from the eaves. The occasional muffled cough was drowned out by the chirping of insects. Kazama sat on the open balcony, holding his computer.

A dialog box popped up, with a message from Yukimura.

Yukimura: "I heard that you two, Seigaku and Hyotei, are going to a joint training camp. Sister Ling asked me to remind you not to bring snacks."

Kazama tapped on the keyboard: "Yukimura, how dare you say that? I still have the photo of you secretly eating cake during your last rehabilitation training." He attached a threatening emoticon.

"Kazama, you're really something. You won't let me suffer any loss at all."

"Of course."

There was silence for a few seconds before the message popped up again.

"I'm looking forward to our match next week. Rikkai University won't lose."

She turned her head and looked at the white paper beside her which was densely filled with tomorrow's training program. After a few seconds, she started typing again.

"So do we, Seigaku."

——

The first day was an endurance obstacle course race and the second day was a tennis shooting competition.

"The entire competition has four stages, and the process is kept secret for now," Fuji read out the contents on the white paper. When he read the last item, he was stunned and looked at Fengjian. "The first person to reach the final stage will receive a one-day hospitality voucher for Fengjian's restaurant."

Fengjian nodded, "Sister Ling said so."

"Hey—a one-day pass to Kazama Restaurant," Momoshiro rolled up his sleeves and prepared to sprint. "Looks like I'm definitely going to win first place."

"It's really exciting." Bu Er smiled slightly.

"But Sister Ling... Didn't your mother, Fengjian, just have surgery?" Dashi scratched his head, looking worried. "Wouldn't this be bad for her recovery?"

"It's okay," Feng Jian waved his hand, "This coupon is valid forever. You can come back when Sister Ling gets better."

"No one can compete with me, the first place must be mine, meow." Kikumaru did radio gymnastics on the spot.

"By the way," Echizen suddenly said, "where there is a first place, there must be a last place..." He swallowed, and everyone's eyes froze instantly, looking at Gan in unison, and taking a step back in unison.

The surroundings were suddenly filled with emptiness. He adjusted his glasses and asked, "What are you expecting?"

Everyone said in unison, "Absolutely not!"

"What a pity," Gan said with a disappointed expression, "There are no suitable ingredients here."

"It was so scary." Taocheng patted his chest and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Okay, stop making trouble." Coach Ryuzaki's voice sounded at the right time. She looked at Kazama and nodded.

The sound of a whistle pierced the dense forest, and the boys rushed out like a shot from a bow. Fengjian's phone also received another message from Yuan.

"They've arrived."

Kazama sighed, resigned himself to his fate, and pedaled down the mountain. The boy's resounding voice faded away, eventually dissipating into the clear sky.
