Chapter 44: Return to the Team

Chapter 44: Return to the Team

On a sunny day, the chirping of cicadas was drowned out by the flow of traffic, and a young man in a black vest on the side of the road was pedaling his bicycle so hard that it was almost smoking.

"This is Snake One, the target is leaving the hospital now."

The other side.

Qingxue Academy.

"Senpai Oishi, Kaidou said that Coach Ryuzaki will be going back home first."

Dashi stood at the entrance to the stadium and breathed a sigh of relief. "It'll take another forty minutes to set up the venue. If we go home first, we'll have enough time."

"Wait," Kazama suddenly said, and everyone's heart instantly rose. She pointed at the phone, "Kaidou just said that Coach Ryuzaki is on his way to school."

"No way!" Taocheng shouted, holding his head.

"It's estimated to arrive at school in less than ten minutes." Gan pushed his glasses calmly.

"We have to change our plans," Dashi said, feeling a headache. "Hurry, everyone, hurry up and put everything away first."

When Coach Ryuzaki arrived, he saw only an empty tennis court. "Kazama, why are you alone? Where are the others? Didn't the official team members return yesterday afternoon?"

"Well, they..." Feng Jian stood at the edge of the court with his hands behind his back, gave Ryuzaki a few dry laughs, and in his heart cursed Momoshiro a thousand times for pushing him out to delay time, "They..."

"Hey, students from the track and field team," Coach Ryuzaki frowned and called out to a few people wearing track and field uniforms not far away, "Have you seen where our tennis team members have gone?"

"Aren't the people from your tennis club here..."

"Ah—Coach, look at the sky," Fengjian pointed to the sky above his head, "The sun is shining brightly today!"

Coach Ryuzaki sighed and looked at her helplessly: "...I can see it, you don't need to remind me specifically."

However, when she looked back, the two track and field team members not far away had already disappeared. Feng Jian moved to block her view, his mind working frantically, "Um, coach, they, they all went to other clubs to learn from experience."

Coach Ryuzaki looked surprised, "Other clubs?"

Feng Jian nodded frantically. "The seniors said that going to other clubs might bring unexpected gains. Learning different combat experiences might help better prepare for the national competition. Coach, you just came back from the hospital. Do you want to go home and rest for a while?"

Coach Ryuzaki looked suspiciously at the smirking figure before her. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of a piece of canvas peeked out from the bushes at the edge of the field. Her eyes flickered to the words 'Discharge' outlined on it in colored pen. She was startled for a moment, then smiled. "In that case, let's go see what they've accomplished."

The words struck her like a bolt from the blue, and Kazama froze in her tracks. As Coach Ryuzaki turned, she snapped back, briefly meeting the gaze of the man leaning over from the sidelines, and then turned her face away.

"In that case, we'll just have to bite the bullet," Daishi clenched his fists, "We have to buy time for the others."

"Yes, Oishi-senpai!"

First stop: the basketball court.

Kawamura's figure, holding the racket and hitting the ball with one hand, stood out in the crowd, and he shouted "Burning——" to complete a beautiful smash.

Coach Ryuzaki: "The smash was good, but the racket is a bit redundant."

Kazama rubbed the tip of his nose.

Second stop: Volleyball Club.

"Oops, the ball bounced out of bounds!"

Fuji quickly retreated, his eyes opened, a sea-blue light flashed in his eyes, his arms opened like a roc spreading its wings, and the volleyball slammed heavily on the opponent's boundary line like a light tennis ball.

The whole audience was in uproar.

"The brown bear net can also be used in volleyball," Coach Ryuzaki nodded approvingly, "Fuji is very good."

Kazama poked her head out from behind Coach Ryuuzaki and gave Fuji a thumbs up, who curved his eyebrows and winked at her.

Third stop: swimming club.

Coach Ryuzaki laughed: "As expected of Kaidou, swimming is his strong point."

Fengjian quietly retreated away from the shore to avoid being splashed by the splashing water, and mentally praised Kaidou for his hard work.

Fourth stop: Football Club.

"Wow, that's a pretty good half volley. Echizen is pretty good at soccer, too."

"Still far away..." Echizen raised his chin, with a slight curve at the corner of his lips. However, before he could finish his words, the front panel of his football cap fell down and completely covered his eyes.

"Wow--"

The thrown football hit his teammate's head with a "bang", and the scene became chaotic like a domino effect.

Kazama: “…”

The fifth stop is the High Jump Association.

"Hey--"

Tao Cheng used the bamboo pole to leap high into the air, his figure almost shoulder to shoulder with the sun, and landed steadily on the other side like a smashed tennis ball, with a confident and brisk sound pouring out, "Dong——"

"It's not enough, it's not enough!"

"Hey, Taocheng this guy jumps much higher than before."

Sixth stop: Table Tennis Club.

"Hey, ha, ho—"

Kikumaru's figure jumped nimbly between the ping-pong balls, and the white balls almost formed a white line at high speed.

Coach Ryuzaki was helpless: "Kikumaru must be treating table tennis as a dance game."

Last stop: the ballet company.

"This is really difficult for Oishi..." Coach Ryuzaki looked at the graceful dancing figure on the field with a look of amazement.

"Senior Oishi is working too hard." Fengjian covered his eyes and dared not look at him directly, but his hand had already consciously opened his mobile phone and secretly took a photo.

When he thought about the scene when Senior Oishi saw the photo later, Kazama couldn't help laughing. It must be very interesting.

After visiting the club training, Fengjian breathed a sigh of relief. She glanced at the notification that Yuan had just sent that everything was ready. She calmly closed the cover of her phone and asked, "Coach Longqi, do you still want to go to the tennis club?"

Coach Longqi looked at her with a smile and said, "The welcome party is ready."

"How did you know..." Feng Jian was stunned, then suddenly realized, "So just now you..."

"With all these little tricks of yours, there's no way you could fool me," Coach Ryuzaki said, smiling as he stuffed the little star stickers he had found outside the tennis court into her hands. "Since you're so dedicated, I'll cooperate with you."

"You already know everything." The sticker in his hand was still warm. Feng Jian blushed slightly and scratched his head. "Then what about the welcome party..."

"Let's go. You've prepared so much for me, so I have to live up to your expectations," Coach Longqi walked ahead. "But don't tell anyone else what I've discovered."

"yes--"

A breeze blew by, and the green leaves on the trees slowly fell to the ground.

......

"Senior Eiji, the cake was prepared for Coach Ryuzaki, and you actually opened it secretly!" Momoshiro put his hands on his hips and pretended to snatch the cake from Kikumaru's hand.

"It's okay with me. You can eat more if you like." Coach Ryuzaki stood aside and watched everyone playing with a smile.

"I'll just try a little bit, meow~"

"No, no, I haven't tasted it yet. I want to take the first bite."

"Wait until you get it first."

"That's too much, Eiji-senpai!"

"I say, you two, it's really inappropriate to make so much noise in the stadium!" Oishi chased after them and grabbed their hands. As his elbow hit Kikumaru, the cake in his hand flew out of his hand, drew a beautiful parabola amid the exclamations of the crowd, and finally landed on the head of Kazama who was standing on the sidelines.

The atmosphere instantly froze and the field was completely silent.

Everyone's eyes fell on the sidelines. Feng Jian stood there with a frown on his face, "You two..."

The sweet aroma of cream rushed into her nose. She stared at the white cream on her fingertips. Several black crosses appeared on the corners of her forehead. She clenched her fists hanging at her sides. She had expected something unexpected to happen and had withdrawn from the battlefield early, but she was still caught in the flames of war.

"Hey, it's over. Kazama is going to be angry. It's all your fault, Tao."

"It's still Eiji-senpai who wants to run away."

Kikumaru grabbed his hair and screamed, and at the same time he and Momoshiro hid behind Tezuka who was reflected in the lens.

"Well, Momoshiro, Kikumaru-senpai," Kazama picked up the small plate of cake beside the table and gave them a "kind" smile, "We're friends, so we should share good things, right? You can't let me be the only one to get slapped in the face, right?"

"I think I don't need to do that..." Momoshiro and Kikumaru retreated repeatedly, and ran away when the girl was about to bypass Tezuka.

"Stop right there, you two!"

"Wow—girls are so scary!"

The scene was in chaos, someone knocked over the basketball hoop, and tennis balls scatter all over the floor; Gen mixed in the crowd and took the opportunity to trip Momoshiro; Kikumaru relied on the fact that he could hang on Oishi and leave Kazama helpless; Kaidou stood there motionless after someone smeared cream on his face; Kane was besieged by others who had been tortured by Kane's juice... The only one who was not made fun of on the sidelines was Tezuka.

"Everyone is very happy." Fuji, with some cream on his forehead and hair ends, stepped aside and looked at the field with a smile.

Tezuka hummed softly and continued to listen. "Maybe it's because our captain Tezuka has made a full comeback."

He turned his head and met Bu Er's smiling eyes, his expression behind the glasses slightly relaxed:

"From now on, I will stand with everyone."

"Everyone has been waiting for this day for a long time."

"Fuji, you are actually staying here alone and being lazy. Come and help me block Kazama!" Kikumaru rushed up and pulled him into the field.

Fuji reached out and grabbed Tezuka's sleeve, and while he was stunned, he pulled him into the crowd and touched the cream on the ends of his hair to his face.

White clouds rose from behind the teaching building like sticky marshmallows. The green stadium was reflected under the clear blue sky. The cheers of the crowd mixed with the sweet aroma of cake filled the air. The warm sun shone on everyone.
