Chapter Nineteen

Chapter Nineteen

The afternoon sunlight in Kanagawa streamed through the windowpanes and onto the beige sofa in the living room.

Yuzuru nestled into the soft cushions, his fingertips tracing the familiar texture of the fabric, and let out a long sigh: "Home is the most comfortable place."

The weariness from the long journey was dispelled by the sense of belonging that filled the room, and even the air smelled comforting.

Yukimura smiled and bent down, gently wrapping his arms around her waist, his palms warm against her back.

A gentle kiss landed on her forehead, carrying his usual tenderness: "Welcome home."

Yuzuru turned to look out the window and suddenly laughed: "The grass in your little flowerbed is taller than the flowers."

After she went on to university, she stayed in Tokyo. During her rare holidays, she would go to England to accompany Yukimura. She also went to China recently. Yukimura has been staying in England for training. The flower garden that was once carefully tended has been neglected for a long time, and weeds have spread wildly, covering up its original colorful beauty.

“But your little cactus is growing very well.” Yukimura followed her gaze and saw that the two cacti that Yuzuru had bought on a whim were now covered with plump, fleshy stems, gleaming with vibrant green in the sunlight.

"Oh, by the way, Yukino has two rabbits, and they had a litter a few days ago." Yukimura ruffled her hair and started talking about the new things happening at home. "Mom is worried about how to take care of this litter of little guys."

Yuzuru's eyes lit up, a familiar taste lingering on his tongue, and he couldn't help but smack his lips: "Sichuan spicy rabbit head~"

"Bunny is so cute, how can you eat bunny?" She deliberately dragged out her words, then smiled slyly, "But to be honest, it really does taste good."

Yukimura pinched her cheek helplessly, his tone serious and leaving no room for argument: "You can't eat recklessly anymore, your stomach has only just recovered."

In the evening, the two carried the local specialties they had brought back from China to the Yukimura residence—they had just returned home and hadn't had time to buy anything yet, so they took the opportunity of visiting their elders to freeload a meal.

As soon as they entered, Yukino rushed over like a nimble little bird, pulling Yuusuke towards the backyard: "Sister-in-law, come and see the little rabbits!" A large, grayish rabbit was munching on vegetable leaves, its round body wiggling; next to it were several newborn rabbits wrapped in fine white fur, their eyes still closed, huddled together timidly, looking extremely adorable.

"So many spicy rabbit heads!" Yukimura's voice came from behind, tinged with barely suppressed laughter.

Yukino blinked blankly: "Huh?"

Yuzuru quickly covered his mouth, glared at him, but the threat in his eyes couldn't hide his amusement. Yukimura took her hand in turn, the warm touch on his fingertips making her smile involuntarily.

At the dinner table, Yuzuru told us interesting stories about China, from the bustling night markets to the street food, which made Yukino's eyes light up.

When the gifts were unwrapped after dinner, the tea and silk scarves that Yukimura's parents received, and the panda doll that Yukino received, filled the living room with laughter.

As night deepened, the family members returned to their rooms to rest, and the air was filled with the warmth of family reunion.

The next day, the two returned to Momozawa's house. Her parents had already prepared a table full of their favorite dishes. At the dinner table, they chatted incessantly about how they had been doing. In the afternoon, they sat in the yard basking in the sun, talking about everyday things. Time seemed to move so slowly that they didn't want to waste it.

After visiting both sets of parents, the two finally had some time alone together.

Previously, we had restrained ourselves because we were busy, but now we have shed all our fatigue and constraints, leaving only each other.

The atmosphere in the room was gentle and tender, and their back-and-forth conversations were filled with unconcealed longing and affection. They finally fell into a deep sleep in each other's arms as dawn broke.

The wedding in Tokyo was filled with joy. As soon as Yuzuru entered the bride's dressing room, he saw Mina Miyamoto wearing a white wedding dress.

The skirt of her wedding dress was adorned with tiny pearls, which made her skin look as white as snow, and her eyes were filled with a glow of happiness.

"I was in China for a while and didn't get to spend much time with you," Yuzuru said, holding her hand with a hint of apology in his voice.

"I'm so happy that you could come to my wedding." Mina smiled and shook her hand, her eyes filled with genuine warmth.

The two sat down facing each other. Looking at his friend who was about to get married, Yuzuru suddenly felt a lump in his throat: "Mina, you must be happy." As soon as he finished speaking, tears welled up in his eyes.

Mina's eyes also reddened, and she reached out to wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes: "We will all be happy."

"Oh, let's not talk about these sad things." Yuzuru quickly composed himself and picked up the gift box beside him. "I brought you a gift." He opened the box and found an exquisite sandalwood jewelry box with a matching sandalwood hair comb, a small mirror, and a massage comb neatly arranged. The wood grain was delicate, and the fragrance was elegant.

"Wow, it's so beautiful, thank you, Yuzuru." Mina stroked the jewelry box with delight, her eyes full of affection.

The two talked privately for a while longer when they heard voices urging them to hurry up from outside.

Yuzuru smiled and said goodbye to Mina, then turned and walked towards the guest seating area, where Yukimura was already waiting. He naturally reached out and took her hand.

As the wedding music began and the emcee's gentle blessings faded, the bride slowly entered the venue, arm in arm with her father.

Yuzuru originally thought that, given Tezuka's composed personality, he would choose a traditional Japanese wedding, but unexpectedly it was a Western-style ceremony—a red carpet extended to the stage, and the couple's figures were reflected in the full bloom of flowers, making it both solemn and romantic.

Walking to the center of the stage, the father solemnly handed Mina's hand to Tezuka, who was dressed in a black suit.

Seeing the rare tenderness in Tezuka's eyes, and hearing Mina say "I do" with a choked voice, Yuzuru could no longer hold back, and tears streamed down his face.

Yukimura gently patted her back, handed her a tissue, and whispered soothingly, "It's okay, we can still see each other often in the future."

“It’s different,” Yuzuru sobbed. “She will be someone else’s wife from now on.”

Not far away, Gan pushed up his glasses, pressed the shutter to capture the scene, and silently sent it to Liu Lian'er. Then he put away his phone, a knowing smile playing on his lips.

The members of the Seigaku tennis club had already gathered together, creating a lively atmosphere. Kikumaru Eiji hugged Echizen Ryoma tightly, his voice brimming with excitement: "Little one, are you envious?"

Ryoma Echizen raised an eyebrow and turned his head away arrogantly: "You're still a long way off."

Turning his head, he saw Momoshiro Takeshi enjoying the food on the table. Kikumaru Eiji immediately rushed over: "Momoshiro, leave some for me!"

Fuji Syusuke, holding a bowl, added some wasabi, his signature gentle smile on his face, and looked at Oishi beside him: "Want some? It tastes really good."

Da Shi waved his hands repeatedly, quickly avoiding the spoon that was being offered to him.

The most exciting part was the bouquet toss. As soon as the music started, young men and women pushed forward, and Takeshi Momoshiro and Kaoru Kaido instantly stood at the front, facing off against each other.

"You want to compete with me for the bouquet too?" Momoshiro Takeshi raised an eyebrow.

"Why not?" Kaidou Kaoru sneered.

"You don't even have a girlfriend yet!"

Suddenly, Fuji Syusuke handed Aaron a tennis racket, a mischievous glint in his eyes: "Burning! Burn it, the bouquet is mine." Aaron took the racket, swung it lightly, and instantly pushed through the crowd in front.

Caught off guard, everyone sprawled out on the ground, and the bouquet of flowers, a symbol of happiness, landed right in the arms of Ryoma Echizen, who was sitting on the ground in a daze, wearing a baseball cap.

"Ah! Little one, it's you!" Kikumaru Eiji exclaimed and rushed over.

Ryoma Echizen held the beautiful bouquet, paused for a moment, then smiled faintly and said softly, "Well, not bad."

At this moment, Atobe Keigo, dressed in a well-tailored black suit and wearing white gloves, slowly walked to the center of the field.

He raised his hand and snapped his fingers elegantly. Immediately, a waiter behind him activated a device, and countless red rose petals slowly drifted down, making the wedding venue even more magnificent.

"The most glamorous one is still me, the great master." Atobe Keigo raised his chin, his tone full of his signature confidence, which drew a burst of laughter and applause from the audience.
