Chapter 121 Don't Come to the General's Mansion Anymore (2/2)

"Yes, General." Granny Deng took the items and left.

Su Ruojin said nothing more, and handed two small porcelain bottles to Su Yunfeng:

"General Su, the pills in the white bottle are for General Su. One pill a day is sufficient. After you finish taking them, I will come to your residence to check your pulse and adjust your medication accordingly."

The pills in the blue bottle were for Madam Su to take; they were meant to calm her mind, soothe her nerves, and aid sleep.

"Okay, thank you, Dr. Su." Su Yunfeng quickly accepted it.

After declining the invitation to stay for dinner at the Su residence, Su Ruojin took her leave.

The maidservant led Su Ruojin out of the mansion, when a voice sounded behind them: "Doctor Su, please wait."

Su Ruojin turned around and saw Su Muyao walking quickly towards her.

"Miss Su, is there anything else?"

"Doctor Su, I'll see you out of the mansion." Su Muyao didn't wait for Su Ruojin to say anything and continued to lead the way.

Su Ruojin remained silent, following behind Su Muyao. She knew that Su Muyao hadn't stopped her just to see her out of the mansion.

"Dr. Su, I hope you won't come to the General's Mansion anymore. If you need medicine delivered to the Su residence, I can send someone to pick it up from you regularly. Don't worry, you won't be shortchanged a penny of your consultation fee," Su Muyao said directly, without beating around the bush.

Su Ruojin raised an eyebrow. Was she being disliked?

She wondered why Su Muyao would harbor such hostility towards her when she hadn't offended her.

"I wonder if this is Miss Su's idea, or General Su's or Madam Su's idea?" Su Ruojin asked.

“It doesn’t matter who says it, Mother’s condition has finally stabilized, but seeing you triggered her illness. I don’t want you to upset her again.” Su Muyao stopped and turned to look at Su Ruojin’s face, which resembled her mother’s, with resentment in her eyes.

If it weren't for her, my mother wouldn't have fallen ill today!

Su Ruojin chuckled lightly: "Miss Su, you may not know me very well. I have a principle when it comes to treating patients: if I feel a connection with them, I will not charge a penny; if I don't feel a connection with them, I will not help them even if they come to me for a fortune. Fortunately, whether it is General Su, General Su, or Madam Su, they all feel a connection with me, so if necessary, I will come to treat them."

After saying that, she walked past Su Muyao and headed out of the mansion.

Whether Su Muyao was jealous or genuinely concerned for Madam Su, Su Ruojin wouldn't care. She didn't need a little maid to tell her what to do.

Su Muyao grew up in the Su family. Although she was adopted, everyone genuinely treated her as the eldest daughter of the Su family. She had never been treated like this before, and she was so angry that her chest hurt.

Su Muyao's personal maid, Hongxiao, was indignant on behalf of her young mistress: "Miss, she's just a doctor from Yanyang, what's so great about her?"

Su Muyao didn't reply, just stared at Su Ruojin's departing figure: "Hongxiao, if Su Ruojin comes to the manor next time, tell me immediately."

"Yes, Miss."

She would never allow anyone to hurt her mother again.

Once inside the carriage, Su Ruojin felt a bit tired and leaned against it for a short rest.

When Su Ruojin opened her eyes, she found that the carriage was still moving.

The distance from the Su residence to the inn isn't very far; it's impossible that he dozed off for a while and still hadn't arrived.

Su Ruojin sensed something was wrong and lifted the carriage curtain, only to find that the outside was filled with the shadows of trees, indicating that they had obviously left the city.

She narrowed her eyes. Had someone else made a move against her?
