Su Ruojin stepped forward and hugged Fu Linglong, "I'm sorry, Senior Fu."
Then he helped Fu Linglong into the house and laid her on the bed.
The room was simply furnished with a bed, a table, a couch, a few stools, and some bronze mirrors in the corners, through which one could see the surrounding area of Jinghuanglu. There was nothing else there.
There was neither a dressing case nor a bronze mirror, which were essential items in a woman's boudoir.
"Master, the person is in your hands now. You need to be firm. We'll wait outside." After saying that, Su Ruojin and Xiao Yanchu left.
Su Ruojin had already realized that the two had feelings for each other; her master was just one opportunity away from making it happen.
Stepping out of the thatched hut, Su Ruojin closed the door and walked to the side with Xiao Yanchu.
"Ah Jin, do you think Master can handle it?" Xiao Yanchu asked with some concern.
After all, Fu Linglong had been quite assertive before, otherwise she wouldn't have refused to see Ye Xunzhi for so many years.
Su Ruojin shook her head, "I don't know either. This is all we can do to help Master. The rest is up to him."
She didn't really know Fu Linglong well, and she really wasn't sure what to do with her.
The only thing she was certain of was that Fu Linglong still had feelings for her master. As long as that was the case, her master had a chance of succeeding.
Two full hours passed before the door opened.
This time, Ye Xunzhi helped Fu Linglong out, and both of them had red eyes.
Su Ruojin and Xiao Yanchu went up to him, "Senior Fu, we apologize for what happened before, but we had no other choice."
Fu Linglong smiled and said, "Xiao Jin, right? I've already heard what your master said. I don't blame you; you were just trying to help me."
"Senior Fu, come down the mountain with us. I can heal your face," Su Ruojin said sincerely again.
“Yes, Linglong, the conditions on the mountain are not suitable for treatment,” Ye Xunzhi advised.
Fu Linglong shook her head. "Xunzhi, it's not that I don't want to go down the mountain, but I swore to my master that I would never leave this world again. I have failed my sect."
"Linglong, how can this be your fault?"
Upon hearing this, Su Ruojin and Xiao Yanchu exchanged bewildered glances. They had no idea what had happened and were at a loss for words to offer any advice.
"Xunzhi, I have no other wish than to see you again in this lifetime. You can go down the mountain now. You are welcome to come anytime you wish, otherwise I'm afraid Xiao Jin's fur will eat Cang Lei." Fu Linglong said with a smile.
Su Ruojin smiled somewhat embarrassedly, "Please forgive me, senior. I had no choice but to resort to this tactic. I certainly won't let Mao Mao eat the Azure Thunder."
She naturally knew that Cang Lei was Fu Linglong's pet, so how could she dare to let Mao Mao mess with Cang Lei? Otherwise, she really wouldn't be able to explain it to her master.
"I know, I should be thanking you, Xiao Jin." Fu Linglong looked at Su Ruojin with a loving expression.
She grew to like Xunzhi more and more as she looked at him; he was both intelligent and sensible.
Fu Linglong knew perfectly well that Su Ruojin would never allow Mao Mao to truly harm Cang Lei. If she were truly that kind of person, she would never have become Ye Xunzhi's apprentice.
Su Ruojin was merely using this to force her out, which was actually giving her a way out. Fu Linglong also wanted to see Ye Xunzhi, so she took this opportunity to back down.
However, she still has an unresolved issue that prevents her from leaving the mountain.
Ye Xunzhi knew that this was the biggest concession Fu Linglong had made so far, and he couldn't be impatient and push her too far. If Fu Linglong ran away and hid somewhere, he couldn't guarantee that he would never be able to find her again in this lifetime.
Anyway, he still has time, so there's no rush. At worst, he can come to Jinghuanglu every day to keep Fu Linglong company; it will only take up some time.
We've waited all these years, so what's a little longer?
As they descended the mountain, Su Ruojin looked at Ye Xunzhi with a half-smile and asked, "Master, how did you manage to win over Senior Fu?"
