Upon arriving at the inn, Su Ruojin wasn't in a hurry to go out. She was quite tired from her journey and, although she had medication to support her, she needed to rest properly.
She called An Yi over, gave him some instructions, ate something, and then went to bed.
She originally didn't want to take Yanluo out this time, so as to carry out her mission in secret. However, she couldn't resist Xiao Yanchu and Yanluo's insistence. Yanluo cried until her eyes were swollen in order to come out with her.
Su Ruojin had no choice but to compromise in the end.
When Su Ruojin woke up, it was already dark.
Yanluo brought in the food to serve Su Ruojin her meal, and at the same time handed her a note, saying softly, "Miss, this is a message from the Dark Alliance."
Previously, Su Ruojin had given An Yi her contact information with the Dark Alliance, asking him to spread the news.
It seems that the Dark Alliance received the message sent by Dark One and gave this feedback.
Su Ruojin frowned slightly as she opened the note.
The note read: "General Su and his party checked into the Yunlai Inn that night. General Su was held in solitary confinement in room number two of the east wing. The next day, General Su suddenly disappeared, and no one knows where he went."
Even the members of the Dark Alliance didn't know where Third Brother had gone.
But thinking about it, it makes sense. With Third Brother's skills, if he really wanted to do something, the Dark Alliance might not be able to find out.
Third Brother, where are you?
Su Ruojin thought for a moment and said to Yanluo, "Tomorrow we'll stay at Yunlai Inn, in room number two of the east wing."
"Yes, Miss."
Since she didn't know where her third brother had gone, she decided to go check on the inn where he was staying.
Normally, prisoners should stay at post stations or government offices, but neither of these places could accommodate so many people.
Moreover, before the final conviction, Su Wenzhou was still nominally a general, so the escorts did not dare to be too negligent and chose an inn.
Given Third Brother's status as a suspect, he should have been staying in a lower room. However, the lower rooms at Yunlai Inn were large communal rooms, and it's likely that the escorts didn't want to sleep there either, so they were moved to the east wing.
The next day, Su Ruojin arrived at Yunlai Inn, only to be told that only rooms number one and three were left in the east wing, room number two was already occupied, and all the other rooms in the inn were full.
Yan Luo wanted to negotiate with the innkeeper and discuss changing rooms with the guests in room number two, but Su Ruojin stopped her.
Sometimes, doing things too deliberately can attract attention.
And so, Su Ruojin and Yan Luo moved into room number three in the east wing, while An Yi moved into room number one. The two rooms were not far apart.
Just as the waiter led Su Ruojin and the others to room number three, the door to room number two opened, and a young man came out with a gloomy face, carrying a basin in his hand, presumably to change the water.
Su Ruojin glanced at the basin of water in the man's hand, her eyes flashing. She then instructed the waiter to bring some food over before entering the room with Yanluo.
After the waiter left, Yanluo closed the door.
"Yanluo, did you see that?"
Yanluo nodded. She had also seen it. The basin of water the man was carrying contained blood, and she could faintly smell the blood as he passed by her.
The young man appeared perfectly normal and did not seem sick or injured.
It's likely that someone else is still living in room number two, and the blood in the basin probably came from that person.
Just then, the waiter knocked on the door, came in, put down the food, and was about to leave when Yanluo stopped him, "Brother, may I ask who's staying in room number two?"
