Chapter 18 Ten Plates of Smashed Cucumbers

"By the way, Madam, the person behind this restaurant is our master." Qingdai whispered mysteriously in Qu Qingxi's ear.

"Really?" Qu Qingxi was also somewhat surprised, not expecting He Liufeng to be such a hidden talent.

"Then let's eat here. After all, we shouldn't let the good stuff go to outsiders."

Guiyunlou was almost full. As soon as Qu Qingxi and Qingdai entered, a friendly waiter immediately came over.

"Guests, there are almost no seats left on the first floor. You see," the waiter said apologetically to Qu Qingxi.

"No problem, are there any seats left on the second floor?"

"Yes, yes, please come upstairs, gentlemen."

The waiter led the two directly to the second floor. "Gentlemen, you've come at the perfect time. There's just one private room left on the second floor."

"Okay, then take us there."

The three were walking in the second-floor corridor when Qu Qingxi suddenly heard a familiar voice.

Qu Qingxi stopped and turned to the waiter, "Who is the guest in this private room?"

"This..." The waiter looked a little embarrassed, but after being given some loose silver, he immediately changed his attitude and lowered his voice, "Sir, let's go inside and talk first."

Once inside the private room, the waiter closed the door and whispered, "Sir, the people in that private room just now were the Crown Prince and Miss Ren, the fourth daughter of the Marquis of Dingguo's family."

"I see." Qu Qingxi nodded gently.

"Sirs, what would you like to eat?" After answering the question, the waiter immediately began his work.

"How about this, bring me one of all your signature dishes." Qu Qingxi was incredibly generous; with money in her pocket, she didn't feel guilty at all about spending it.

"Oh? Sir, we have at least fifty signature dishes here. I see there are only two of you. Isn't that too much?" the waiter said sincerely. There were only two women in front of him. Fifty dishes seemed like too much.

"How about this, bring out twenty dishes that you think are delicious." Qu Qingxi was too lazy to choose herself, so she gave the choice to the waiter.

"Alright, sir, please rest assured." The waiter rarely received such high regard from a customer, and his smile became even more sincere.

After the waiter left, Qu Qingxi turned her head to look at the bustling street, then remembered what the waiter had said and looked at Qingdai.

"Qingdai, if you need to contact the manager of Guiyun Tower, how do you do it? What kind of token do you need?"

“Madam, that’s not necessary. The manager here recognizes me.” He Liufeng had previously met with the manager of Guiyun Tower with Ling Mu and Qingdai, so no token was needed.

"Madam, what do you want to do?" Qingdai asked curiously.

"Qingdai, go tell the manager here that all the dishes Ren Nuanyun ordered in that private room should be changed to cucumber salad." It's such a rare opportunity that everything is going perfectly; it would be a shame not to give Ren Nuanyun a little surprise.

"Huh? They've all been replaced with smashed cucumbers? Why?" Qingdai looked at Qu Qingxi with great confusion.

Qu Qingxi said meaningfully, "Qingdai, you don't need to know so much. Just do it. If the people over there ask, just say they ordered it themselves. Oh, and remember to tell the shopkeeper that a plate of cucumber salad costs five taels of silver."

Qingdai was initially puzzled, but then, as if she had thought of something, a lewd smile appeared on her face, and she walked outside.

The shopkeeper found Qingdai's request somewhat strange, but he still did as she instructed.

When Qingdai returned, she had completely figured out what Qu Qingxi wanted to do.

The dishes were served quickly, and Qu Qingxi and Qingdai sat there comfortably, beginning to savor Guiyunlou's signature dishes. To be fair, Guiyunlou's dishes were indeed quite delicious. While the atmosphere was harmonious on one side, the atmosphere in another private room was awkward.

Ren Nuanyun had originally planned to invite the Crown Prince over today and cultivate a good relationship with him. She had sacrificed so much before, even almost dying, but she didn't know who had betrayed her. What was supposed to be a bargaining chip to increase her status and reputation had turned into a tool to harm her.

Looking at the ten plates of smashed cucumbers piled high on the table, both the Crown Prince and Ren Nuanyun fell silent.

"Your Highness, I clearly ordered Guiyunlou's signature dish, not any cucumber salad." Ren Nuanyun looked at the bright green cucumber salad on the table, her heart burning with anger. However, because the Crown Prince was there, she could not vent her anger and could only swallow her rage and resentment.

"Yes, I know." Of course, the Crown Prince knew that Ren Nuanyun would not do such a thing. Although it had been found that his assassination attempt was related to Ren Nuanyun, and his father had told him not to have too much contact with Ren Nuanyun, the Crown Prince still had different feelings for Ren Nuanyun.

Looking at the invitation Ren Nuanyun had given him today, the Crown Prince's heart softened again. He remembered Ren Nuanyun's slender figure, and how she had risked everything to shield him from a sword. He also remembered the special feelings he had for Ren Nuanyun. The Crown Prince decided to keep the appointment.

When the Crown Prince arrived, he saw Ren Nuanyun's pale face, bright and clear eyes, and even more frail figure. He couldn't help but feel sorry for her, and all the slight resentment he had felt towards her before vanished.

Ren Nuanyun quickly called over the waiter, who removed the cucumbers from the table and replaced them with all sorts of signature dishes. Ren Nuanyun looked at the Crown Prince pitifully.

“Your Highness, I really didn’t do what happened before. I had no reason to do it. It was all a frame-up. I had no idea about it.”

“Your Highness is a man of extraordinary appearance. I have always admired Your Highness and would never dare to do such a thing. I hope Your Highness will not blame me.”

Ren Nuanyun's eyes were glistening with tears, like a frightened rabbit, looking at the Crown Prince with a cautious and pitiful expression, which softened the Crown Prince's heart even more.

Looking at Ren Nuanyun's delicate white hand resting on the table, the Crown Prince gently enveloped her hand with his own broad palm and said softly, "Nuanyun, you don't need to say that. I know you are innocent in this matter, and you are also a victim."

"Your Highness." Seeing the Crown Prince's actions, Ren Nuanyun felt a warmth in her heart. Putting aside the plot and the system, she really liked the Crown Prince. He was the heir apparent of the country, with a handsome face, a tall and mighty figure, and a meticulous and considerate personality.

"Thank you for understanding me, Your Highness." Ren Nuanyun leaned gently against the Crown Prince's strong chest, closed her eyes, and revealed her delicate yet haggard face.

Looking down at the person in his arms, the Crown Prince felt a surge of warmth in his heart. She was also a victim in this matter. She had risked her life to save him, yet she still had to bear a false accusation. The Crown Prince felt extremely sorry for her.

"Nuanyun, may I call you that?" the Crown Prince asked tentatively.

"Mmm." Ren Nuanyun's warm breath sprayed onto the Crown Prince's chest, making him feel a ticklish sensation in his heart.

"Nuanyun, would you be willing to be my person?" the Crown Prince asked cautiously.

"What is the Crown Prince saying?" Ren Nuanyun's eyes lit up with surprise when she heard this. She sat up straight, glanced at the Crown Prince shyly, and then turned her head away bashfully.
