The case is difficult.
She waited for the person under the tree to take a step towards her, to reach out their hand, but the person remained unmoved. Li Yin couldn't help but frown slightly. Could this person be teasing her, deliberately trying to bully her?
Thinking this way, Li Yin's impression of Wen Youqing worsened. Wen Youqing looked up and smiled gently. He said, "You're waiting for me to walk towards you, shouldn't you walk towards me too?"
Li Yin had no choice but to carefully walk forward, her steps slow and deliberate. Even so, she still slipped and quickly reached out to grab a branch. The tree swayed gently, its branches trembling, and the wind whistled against her, brushing against the girl's hair and the hem of her clothes.
A surge of anger welled up inside her, and she glared at Wen Youqing under the tree, saying, "You did this on purpose."
Wen Youqing took in Li Yin's every move. He saw that Li Yin was slightly angry, and the blush on his face made him look a little shy.
He then slowly walked over, stopped under the tree, and stretched out his hand to the person in the tree. Li Yin pouted and reluctantly stretched out her hand. Just as she was about to tease Wen Youqing about whether she could catch her, the man pulled her down. Sure enough, the two bumped into each other.
Wen Youqing held onto Li Yin's hand tightly, and Li Yin couldn't break free. She was forced to roll around on the ground with Wen Youqing.
Their clothes were intertwined and covered in dust. Li Yin's face was also covered in dust. Her eyes were red as she glared at Wen Youqing, thinking to herself, "Next time we meet, I'll deliberately make this person fall down and give her a taste of her own medicine."
Seeing Li Yin like this, Wen Youqing remained calm. Ding Zishan quickly came over, bent down, and helped the two of them up. She gently patted the dust off Li Yin and said softly, "My son is unruly, please don't take it to heart."
Looking at the person in front of her who spoke to her as softly as her mother, Li Yin's anger subsided somewhat. She glanced at Wen Youqing and snorted softly before saying in a gentle voice, "This young lady won't stoop to his level."
Ding Zishan smiled gently. Just as she was about to take Wen Youmo away, she stood up and encountered someone she knew very well. She was taken aback when she saw him, and then smiled gently.
Li Yin also looked over and saw a person dressed in white, with peach blossoms embroidered on the white robes. From a distance, the pollen looked like blood.
...Memories surfaced here, but then abruptly ended. Li Yin stared blankly at the teacup, while He Jing looked at her tenderly, with concern and careful attention.
Li Yin's pupils trembled slightly as he came to his senses. The person under the tree was Wen Youqing, and the person on the tree was He Jing, or more accurately, Bie Zhi, Qing Bie Zhi.
She looked up at He Jing, but He Jing's expression suddenly tightened, and he hurriedly looked away, lowering his eyes to gaze at the teacup.
He picked up the teacup with slightly flustered movements, and just as he was about to bring it to his lips, Li Yin grabbed his wrist and said, "Are you really He Jing?"
He Jing smiled, her face still showing signs of illness, but with a rosy blush, she had the air of a sickly beauty. A drop of tea fell onto the corner of her lips, making them moist and the back of her lips appear particularly red, like a red plum blossom in the snow, striking and eye-catching, yet also adding a touch of charm.
Li Yin stared at his lips, and He Jing's ears turned red again. He didn't know what Li Yin was going to do. A little expectation welled up in his heart, but he didn't dare to think too much about it. He could only lower his eyes and try to hide it.
Li Yin said, "The tea is cold, don't drink it."
Upon hearing this, He Jing raised his hand and brought the cup of tea to his lips. He didn't say a word, but his actions were decisive. Li Yin was taken aback when he saw this. He said to Li Yin earnestly, "This is the first cup of tea you've offered me."
Hearing this, Li Yin felt a little uncomfortable. She didn't know how to speak for a moment. The bitterness was like a well that had overflowed because of the rain. The rain had stopped and the dampness had dissipated, but it was still gushing out, leaving the chill on the ground for heaven and earth to see.
She lowered her voice and asked, "So, Qing Biezhi, are you really He Jing?"
She prayed that none of this had anything to do with him, but fate did not grant her wish. He Jing glanced at Li Yin, and Li Yin immediately understood that this person was He Jing.
She withdrew her hand, said nothing more, stood up, and before leaving, she stopped and looked at the sick-looking man in blue, saying, "Do you have a reason for this?"
Upon hearing this, He Jing looked up at Li Yin, and the parched place in his heart felt as if it had been greeted by a long-awaited drizzle. His lips twitched slightly, but in the end he lowered his eyes and closed his mouth.
Li Yin then stopped asking questions. He Jing didn't want to talk about it, so he didn't ask. However, judging from He Jing's behavior, there was definitely something fishy about the matter, which further confirmed that the case involved many things.
Bi Hai stood dignifiedly beside the stairs. When she saw Li Yin come down, she asked, "Madam, were you just seeing someone?"
Li Yin didn't hide anything and nodded, saying, "An old friend."
Upon hearing this, Bi Hai frowned slightly and said, "Young Master will be unhappy if he finds out. Madam, perhaps we shouldn't be so formal with each other in the future."
Li Yin raised an eyebrow. He wasn't asking whether the other person was male or female; he was just preventing her from seeing anyone.
Why is Wen Youqing so domineering?
She didn't really care about those words. Thinking of Wen Youqing's wicked behavior in her memory, she laughed and casually replied, "If he's angry, let him be angry."
Once outside the building, Li Yin lost her desire for fun and asked Bi Hai, who was standing beside her, "Do you know where the Qi residence is?"
Upon hearing this, Bi Hai frowned at first, but still said politely, "On Jian'an Street, you have to walk to the end of this road."
Li Yin listened, pondered for a moment, and then strode away. Seeing this, Bi Hai hurriedly followed, but with each step she took, Li Yin was one step ahead of her. No matter how hard she tried to catch up, she could never catch up. Watching the figure disappear, she was startled and stood in the crowd, looking around.
At the corner, Li Yin glanced at Bi Hai in the crowd, thought to herself, "Sorry," and turned to walk away.
Continue straight along this road until you reach the end, where you'll find a new street called Jian'an.
The place was deserted, with hardly any people around. After walking a few steps, Li Yin saw a magnificent mansion with five steps leading up to the gate. The stone lions stood guard, exuding grandeur and solemnity.
Soldiers stood guard at the gate, one on the left and one on the right, each with a solemn expression and upright posture, like border guards, keeping a close eye on the every move of passersby.
Li Yin was naturally under their watchful eyes as he walked over. Just as he was about to take another step, one of them spread out his hands and blocked his way.
The other person then asked, "Who are you, and what brings you here?"
Li Yin then said, "Let's find someone to discuss the matter."
The man then asked, "Who are you?"
Li Yin said, "Young Master Qi."
Upon hearing this, the man raised an eyebrow, exchanged a glance with the one blocking Li Yin, and then asked Li Yin, "Are you a young lady from the Li family?"
Li Yin nodded, and the man lowered his hand that was blocking him, gesturing for Li Yin to enter. Li Yin stepped forward.
The courtyard was spacious, so the row of bamboo planted there stood out as a green oasis amidst the sea of white, adding a touch of vitality and charm.
However, the presence of bamboo in this solemn and grand mansion felt like a disruption to the harmony, like a note in a melody that had gone astray.
Li Yin glanced at her indifferently. A maidservant saw her coming and walked to Li Yin's side. She smiled at Li Yin first, and then said softly, "Miss, please come with me."
Li Yin followed, went around the front yard, passed through the archway, and arrived at a study. A man was sitting at his desk, holding a sleeve in one hand and a brush in the other, writing on the white paper with a focused expression.
Li Yin slowed his pace. A maidservant led him there and then turned to leave. Li Yin stepped forward slowly, his steps extremely light.
After Qi Shixu picked up the pen and wrote the words, he gently put the pen down. As soon as he looked up, he saw Li Yin. He was surprised for a moment, and then his ears turned red.
Seeing this, Li Yin laughed. How could this person be so easily frightened?
But when she looked at the paper, Qi Shixu looked flustered. He hurriedly crumpled the paper into a ball and carefully tossed it aside.
In his haste, he stained his hands with the still-wet ink. Seeing Li Yin looking at him with red ears, he gave an embarrassed smile.
Li Yin raised an eyebrow and said, "Young Master Qi?"
Qi Shixu's ears turned even redder, and after a moment he said, "Miss Li, you've come at just the right time."
Li Yin stared at the trail of ink on Qi Shixu's fingertips and said, "Young Master Qi, about what we wanted to talk about before."
Upon hearing this, Qi Shixu took a few steps and closed the door. He said, "This matter involves too much, I'm afraid..."
Li Yin knew what he meant by what he hadn't finished saying: this case probably couldn't be cleared up.
Seeing that Li Yin remained silent, Qi Shixu grew anxious and said, "In the capital, this case involves the He family, the He family, and... the Wen family."
When he said the last two words, he looked at Li Yin's expression. Seeing that Li Yin did not react at all, he was unwilling, but still said truthfully: "However, although there is the Wen family, they are not the same as the previous two families. At present, this is all that the Dali Temple can let people know about."
Upon hearing this, Li Yin nodded gently and sincerely said, "Thank you." Just as Li Yin was about to leave after saying this, Qi Shixu suddenly grabbed her sleeve. Li Yin looked up, and Qi Shixu let go of her sleeve. He bowed apologetically and said, "I was offended earlier, please forgive me, Miss Li."
Li Yin said, "It's alright." Qi Shixu was secretly pleased to hear this, and he said, "Although I can't continue to investigate, my superior can. I just don't know if he's willing to take on this kind of case again."
Upon hearing this, Li Yin's face showed a hint of excitement, and her tone became more urgent. She asked, "Young Master Qi, where is your master now?"
Qi Shixu looked out the window. He walked over and opened the window. Looking out the window, the first thing he saw was the horizontal bar and mast, followed by the green bamboo.
The lush greenery was as if human presence had been found.
