Chapter 121 No Sleeping Allowed

When Nan Yi left the palace, she was in a terrible mood. She racked her brains but never expected that when Consort De summoned her to the palace, besides being punished by standing, she was asked to bring two concubines to the Fourth Prince.

This is clearly the primary wife's job, so why did it fall on her?

What Consort De meant was that none of the wives and concubines in her son's household were of any use. The primary wife was ill, Lady Li was pregnant, Lady Nian had miscarried and was not yet recovered, and Consort De did not find the others suitable.

She was afraid that the Fourth Master would suffer injustice and not be able to relax.

A dozen or so women in the backyard weren't enough.

The Li family, Wen family, Geng family, Niu Gulu family, Qi family, Wu family, and Song family are all just decorations! Damn it, Nan Yi almost collapsed. His face was as ugly as could be. He was so angry that he wanted to step on the stone bricks in the palace and put several holes in them.

Xiao Shunzi knew that the concubine was unhappy, so he and the two maids who had accompanied her to the palace walked behind with their heads down.

The two concubines bestowed by Consort De followed with lowered heads and unhurried, calm and composed manners, which made Nan Yi's secondary consort seem petty and narrow-minded.

Nan Yi was depressed, extremely depressed. He didn't know why, but he was just very unhappy.

She's domineering and somewhat selfish. After all, Fourth Master is her husband in name only. How could she possibly be nice to her husband taking in a concubine? She must be out of her mind.

Nan Yi didn't give the two palace maids behind her a kind look at all. Anyway, with Xiao Shunzi following her, she wasn't afraid of getting lost.

At the palace gate, Yinzhen was waiting there. When he saw her, he glanced at her and secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, her face was just a little red from the sun.

Looking at her expression again, her pretty face was filled with anger, and her eyes were full of fury. The Consort De had angered her again.

"Nan Yi?"

"What are you doing?" Nan Yi was a little annoyed. She glanced at him with her almond-shaped eyes and stopped in front of him angrily. "Get to the point. I'm busy."

Yinzhen's brow twitched. His temper was so bad. He took two steps back and asked cautiously, "Are you unhappy?"

"How can I be happy? All you do is upset me all day long." She irritably flicked the handkerchief in her hand, then thought that she shouldn't treat her friend this way.

"I wasn't talking about you, Ah Tang. Why haven't you returned to the manor yet?" Nan Yi asked, softening his tone.

Yin Tang glanced at the two pretty young ladies and eunuchs walking slowly behind her, and his eyes darkened. Was Nan Yi jealous?

It felt like my heart had been stabbed again.

He put his hands behind his back, raised his chin, and gestured for her to follow.

"You're too careless for these two things. No one can compare to you. Don't get yourself sick from getting angry," Yinzhen said bluntly.

Nan stamped her foot, her face darkening, and said, "It's not for them, sigh... I'm just feeling aggrieved... Never mind, I can't explain it to you."

Yinzhen had quite a few concubines, and it was likely that his future wife would also be involved in such matters. Nan Yi couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him.

"I heard you're getting married soon. Your primary wife is a great beauty. Congratulations! You're very lucky. Each wife is more beautiful than the last, so your future baby will definitely be amazing too," Nan Yi teased.

She muttered to herself, "You're getting married, what kind of gift should I give you?"

Yinzhen's expression changed slightly. He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye and saw that she didn't care at all. His heart ached. Such a sweet smile was so glaring to him.

"Don't come on my wedding day. Have your fourth sister-in-law bring the gift."

"Why? That's too much! You accepted my gift, but you won't even buy me a drink. That's outrageous!" Nan Yi asked angrily.

Yinzhen's face was stern, and his tone was firm: "I said you're not allowed to come, and that means you're not allowed to come. Even if you do come, I won't let you in."

He couldn't bear to marry someone else but watch him marry another. After saying this, Yin Tang turned and left without looking back.

Nan Yi stood there stunned for a moment, then, after regaining his senses, raised his hand and cursed, "You're all bad people! All you know how to do is bully me! I hate you all!"

Yinzhen paused for a moment, then walked even faster.

Nan Yi stamped his foot and walked towards the carriage.

Two women following closely behind Xiao Shunzi saw this scene. One of them couldn't help but ask Xiao Shunzi out of curiosity, "Sir, may I ask who that young master is?"

Xiao Shunzi's expression was indifferent. He didn't have a good face for people the concubine disliked. "Don't ask what you shouldn't ask. Don't pry into the affairs of noble people. Hurry up and go. Don't keep Master Tong waiting."

Xiao Shunzi hurried toward the carriage, and the two maids who came to serve him naturally became close allies.

The two women looked at each other in disbelief, never expecting that a mere eunuch from the Fourth Prince's mansion would be so arrogant.

The older woman frowned and muttered in displeasure, "Just a eunuch, acting like a dog relying on his master's power."

The younger woman nodded, "I'm afraid they have someone backing them up. They're used to bullying the weak and oppressing the strong. We need to be careful in the future."

She couldn't help but feel uneasy. The concubine who had come to pick them up was extremely difficult to get along with. She was stunningly beautiful and arrogant, and she didn't take them seriously at all. They had already incurred her displeasure before even leaving the palace. How would they get along with her once they entered the mansion?

I heard that the Fourth Prince's mansion also has a favored concubine, Consort Nian, who is also a stunning beauty. Consort Tong is already quite remarkable, so what kind of fairy must Consort Nian be?

"Shunzi?"

"Ah, Master."

Nan Yi lifted the carriage curtain and told them to sit in the carriage behind. When they passed West Street, he instructed them to go to Ninth Master's Restaurant and pick up two roast ducks, saying that he wanted them.

"This servant understands." Xiao Shunzi happily replied. It was good that his master could eat, which meant he wasn't angry anymore.

Yiren once said that as long as the master is willing to eat, even if the rain stops and the sun shines, the master is happy and everyone in Chanyue Pavilion is happy.

"Master, roast duck..." Xiao Shunzi swallowed hard, but before he could finish speaking.
