Nan crossed her arms and sneered lazily, "I have no money, but I have one life. This young lady would like to see your red and white knives."
"Oh, what a bold young lady! Her figure is so alluring, even with her face covered, she's captivating. She must be quite beautiful too. Brother, let's snatch her and make her our bride."
The scarred, dark-faced man spoke first, then squinted his lecherous eyes at Nan Yi. The others burst into laughter, finding it utterly lewd.
Yintang quickly pulled her behind him, holding his knife to his side. He remained calm and composed, saying, "Heroes, this young lady is naive and doesn't know any better. Please don't take it to heart. I'll offer you some money; please do me a favor." He then pulled out a silver note.
Nan Yi pressed down on his hand as he reached for the silver notes. "What are you doing? You bunch of lowly scoundrels. Get back here and stand at the back."
The bandits, angered by her boastful words, glared at her.
Yinzhen choked, his face darkening. Who was he doing this for? The other side had a large number of people and was obviously a seasoned bandit who had been drinking blood. He was just worried that the swords would accidentally hurt her, and it was a good deal to exchange money for safety.
Nan Yi snorted, pushed off the carriage, and leaped onto a tree by the roadside on the left. She casually broke off a branch about the thickness of a thumb, with a few green leaves still fluttering at the tip. She stood two meters in front of the bandits' horses, facing them directly.
One of the bandits seemed incredulous that a young girl could be so bold, exclaiming, "You little punk, boss, is she insulting us?"
The leader glanced coldly at his henchman, then turned to look at the masked woman, who was barely taller than a horse's neck, his eyes filled with surprise. He said in a gruff voice, "Miss, do you want to fight with us?"
Nan Yi raised the tree branch in her hand, pointing it directly at the speaker, and said, "Enough nonsense. If you're a man, dismount and fight me. This whining is really unpleasant."
The bandit leader looked around and saw that his brothers all had the same expression. Suddenly, he burst into laughter, and the others joined in the laughter.
Yin Tang also rubbed his forehead and smiled bitterly. No wonder she wouldn't let him pay; she was simply itching to spar with someone. But this was the martial world, not a competition arena. It seemed things couldn't end well.
He hurriedly jumped off the carriage and ran to her side to protect her.
