Chapter 202 Ignoring the Advice of the Elders

The carriage headed towards the outskirts of the capital. Since the group was not in a hurry, the carriage traveled slowly.

Less than a quarter of an hour's walk from the villa, Nan Yi saw someone selling winter dates by the roadside, so he asked Qing Yun to get out of the car and buy some to take back to the villa to eat.

Qingyun asked about the price, and the vendor handed her a small bamboo basket. Qingyun picked out dates, filled the basket to the brim, and asked the vendor to weigh it. The vendor's smile had just begun to spread when it suddenly turned to horror. He pointed to a spot not far away and cried out in a trembling voice, "Murder, murder!"

"Oh my god, run!" The vendor abandoned his carrying pole and turned to run.

Qingyun was also stunned by the scene. The guards had already surrounded the carriage on high alert. Nanyi heard the sound of swords coming from outside the carriage and asked, "Qingyun, what happened?"

"Master, Master, something terrible has happened!" Qingyun ran to the carriage, her face pale, her legs trembling uncontrollably. "Master, a group of men in black are killing people there. We must get out of this place quickly!"

To commit murder in broad daylight is far too blatant. This is the outskirts of the capital, a busy area with people coming and going on the main road. I have to admit, this is outrageous.

Nan's face darkened slightly as he lifted the curtain and stepped out of the carriage. Directly in front of him, a dozen highly skilled men in black were besieging two men.

Judging from the situation over there, the two men who were assassinated were of average martial arts skills and were struggling to hold on. Several people were already lying on the ground, and judging from their clothing, they were probably the two men's guards or something.

However, the two men surrounded by men in black looked somewhat familiar to her. Was it just her imagination?

Nan Yi promptly ordered, "Li Yi and Li Er, go and see if you know them. If you do, lend a hand." Just as she finished speaking, two dark figures flashed past everyone's eyes.

Li Yi and Li Er flew over and, upon seeing the two people in the encirclement, were immediately taken aback. Without hesitation, they rushed in to rescue them.

Upon seeing this, Nan Yi instantly understood that the two men were probably people Li Yi and Li Er knew, and the people they knew... she might also know them.

Oh well, whatever.

"Go over there and rescue them quickly," Nan Yi ordered the dozen or so guards surrounding the carriage.

The guards looked at each other, none of them daring to move. Their main duty was to protect Consort Tong. If they left and something happened to their mistress, no one could bear the responsibility.

Qingyun disagreed, "Master, no, what will you do if they leave? Those men in black look very powerful. Let's retreat quickly and notify the authorities."

Nan Yi frowned as he watched Li Yi and Li Er fighting, and calmly shook his head, "It's too late. By the time the government comes to rescue them, they'll be long dead."

It just so happens to be at this time.

She held her back; her body was uncomfortable even after standing for a long time, let alone going on the field to help rescue people. It would be a blessing if she didn't become a burden.

What should we do?

Li Yi and Li Er were quite skilled in martial arts, but compared to the men in black, they were outnumbered and unable to rescue anyone. Instead, they found themselves surrounded by the men in black.

"Sigh, good-for-nothing." Nan Yi jumped off the carriage in disappointment. She had to do it herself. She grabbed a knife from a guard next to her and turned to Qingyun, saying, "You stay in the carriage."

She pointed at the coachman and said, "If things go wrong, go back to the manor immediately and get reinforcements." Then she ordered the guards around her, "Come with me to rescue them."

Qingyun was so anxious she almost cried, "No, Master, you're not feeling well today."

Nan's face darkened, and she said in a deep voice, "I can't worry about that now, saving lives is the priority." She was still angry when she thought of someone from last night.

Knowing they were no match for the men in black, Li Yi and Li Er could only protect their men and retreat. However, the men in black fought with all their might, each move aimed at killing them.

Nan Yi happened to arrive with his men and stormed in.

"Nan Yi~" Yin Tang saw her suddenly descend from the sky. Before his smile could even open, the danger before him made his pupils shrink. He straightened his neck and roared sharply, "What are you doing here? Get out of here!"

He would rather die than let anything happen to her.

No wonder they looked familiar. Ah, they were so familiar, Nan Yi's eyes quickly swept over them. He was injured.

asshole.

Nan Yi's gaze was as cold as a knife, fiercely shooting at the surrounding men in black. "Leave? Now, besides me, who else can save you?"

These princes, though of noble birth, were also high-risk individuals; they could be assassinated even just by leaving the city.

What bad luck!

Nan Yi brandished his knife, slashing and cursing, "What did I tell you? I told you to take more guards with you when you go out, but you ignored me completely and even dragged me into this mess. If I die today, it'll be the two of you who caused it."

Yinzhen was rendered speechless by her scolding and was busy dealing with the man in black. He had no energy left to talk back, but the Eighth Prince took the opportunity to explain for him, saying, "What happened today... is my fault."

"So, Eighth Master takes two or three kittens with him when he goes out. Well, he won't be lonely on his way to the underworld," Nan Yi couldn't help but sneer.

Eighth Master looked dejected. He had just wanted to go out for a walk to clear his head, but he never expected to be assassinated.

The arrival of Nan Yi did not improve the situation. The men in black realized that they could not harm the two princes. The princes' reinforcements arrived in time and were highly skilled in martial arts. They could not do anything to them for the time being. The longer it dragged on, the more disadvantageous it would be for them.

A whistle suddenly rang out from the woods, and the men in black immediately stopped their attack and decisively dispersed into the forest.

"Phew~ This is giving up." Ninth Prince lay sprawled on the ground, rubbing the wound on his arm, and smiled at Nan Yi. "Thanks to you, otherwise, Eighth Brother and I would be stuck here today."

He really thought he was going to die when the men in black suddenly rushed out and blocked their way. In order to save him, Xiao Yinzi was stabbed through the chest by one of the men in black.

The servant who had been by his side since childhood lay supine on the ground, no longer breathing.

Yin Tang exhaled the pent-up anger in his chest. A chill swept over him, and his sweat-soaked clothes clung to his body, but he didn't feel cold. Instead, a surge of anger rose within him, rushing straight to his brain.

"What Ninth Brother says is absolutely right." The Eighth Prince wiped the cold sweat from his forehead with lingering fear. He had been stabbed in the leg and was more seriously injured than his Ninth Brother.

Nan Yi glared at the two men, already barely holding on. The knife slipped from her hand, her legs trembled violently, and she dared not push herself. "Li Yi, come help me."

Yinzhen thought she was injured, so he jumped up from the ground and ran to her side with a worried expression, "Are you injured?"

"It's alright." Nan Yi supported Li Yi's arm, secretly drawing in a breath of cold air, and took small steps toward the carriage. After thinking for a moment, he turned back to look at the two of them. "The villa is closer to here. You two gentlemen should go there first to treat your wounds. To prevent any further accidents, Li Er, you should quickly return to the capital to report the news."

Four carriages: two for the servants of Wanyue Pavilion, one for luggage, and one for Nan Yi.

The most comfortable and spacious carriage was also the one in the south.

Since the two gentlemen were of noble status and injured, Nan Yi did not want to make things difficult for them. He let them ride in the same carriage as him and instructed Qingyun to give them a simple bandage. There was no doctor in the villa, so they could only wait for Li Er to bring the imperial physician from the capital.

"I warned you, didn't I? But you wouldn't listen. This is a good lesson for you." Nan said calmly, leaning against the car wall. She was feeling unwell and couldn't sit comfortably no matter how she sat.
