Nan Yi caught four large fish. His inner robe was dripping wet, and he casually wrapped a cloak around his neck before entering the house.
There wasn't enough hot water in the kitchen for everyone. Thirteen and the others were men, strong and healthy, so they quickly wiped themselves down and changed into dry clothes before coming out.
As soon as Nan Yi entered the bedroom, he suddenly sneezed. Yinzhen's face immediately darkened, and he chased away the maid Yiren who was following behind him. He quickly picked up Nan Yi and took him to the bathroom.
"Put me down."
"Don't move, you've probably caught a chill. You need to soak in hot water first."
"I know what I'm doing, it's none of your business." Nan Yi struggled to get off the ground.
Yinzhen didn't let go, and placed her body into the bathtub, saying in a low voice, "You know you'll ruin your body like this, do you think I don't know how you lived on the estate? I don't want to bring up the past, so behave yourself." After saying that, he reached out to undo her robe.
Nan Yi slapped his hand away, glaring at him coldly, "How I live is none of your business. Why didn't you do this earlier? Get out."
Yinzhen's forehead twitched, his face turning ashen with anger. Just as he was about to scold her again, he saw her sneezing one after another. He glanced at her thin cheeks and stood up silently.
Nan took off her wet clothes after he left, immersed herself in the water, sighed comfortably, and casually washed herself.
She stretched her arm out of the water and turned it over. She seemed to have lost a lot of weight. She had been trying very hard to regain it, but for some reason, she could feel that something was wrong with her body.
No matter how much supplements she took, her health kept getting worse and worse. She was always catching colds and getting chilled.
The Martial God Doctor said it was a mental illness. To be honest, she wasn't quite sure if she actually had a mental illness.
It's too hard to let go of hatred, but it's not so urgent anymore; time really can heal all wounds.
"Yiren, bring me a towel," Nan Yi casually called out.
Sitting in the bedroom, Yinzhen picked up the dry clothes beside him and silently entered the bedroom. He took a dry towel from the shelf next to the bathtub and handed it to the person in the bathtub. The person then sat down next to her and held her hair to wash it.
Nan Yi thought it was pleasant, so she didn't say anything.
After washing up, she stood up to get dressed. She inadvertently caught a glimpse of a man's hand and turned around in surprise. The Fourth Master took a robe and wrapped it around her, saying softly, "We need to rush back to the capital this afternoon. Tomorrow is the day we set off. After we finish our meal, we should leave. I have already instructed Yiren and Xiaoshunzi on what needs to be prepared. If anything is forgotten, we can prepare it at the manor."
"I don't want to go." Nan Yi tightened his robes and refused in a low voice.
Yinzhen pretended not to see it, placed the prepared clothes in front of her, turned his back, and said, "Father has personally issued an edict. If you have any objections, speak to Father in person."
Nan Yi pouted. How could she dare? It was a favor, and she had to accept it whether she liked it or not. She heard that it was the Imperial Concubine who mentioned it. "Is the Imperial Concubine going too?"
"Since Consort Tong is not going, Father Emperor will take Consort Chun and Consort Zheng. The only high-ranking consort is Consort Yi."
That must be Yinzhen's mother, she's certainly favored.
Nan Yi casually asked, "Who from the manor is going?"
Yinzhen was unexpectedly silent. Not hearing the Fourth Prince utter a sound, Nan Yi had a bad feeling. She was almost dressed and tied her outer robe.
She walked up to the Fourth Master, glancing at him sideways, "Don't tell me, you brought Nian Shi with you."
"Yi'er, I originally intended to..." Yinzhen had no choice but to take the initiative to explain.
"I don't want to hear anything. It's good to take her. If something happens on the way, don't blame me," Nan Yi said coldly.
“Mistress Nian has been much more well-behaved in the last two years. Can you let go of the past and stop holding a grudge against her? I don’t expect you two to get along well. Can you just let each other go?” Yinzhen advised with a grim expression.
Nan Yi felt hurt, and her nose was stuffy, so she said, "Can we let each other go? If you promise me, I'll promise you."
Yinzhen pursed his lips. He thought that after two years, giving her two years of freedom would be enough for her to settle down.
Hearing her cold tone, he realized he was wrong. If he let her go, who would let himself go?
He thought that two years of freedom was compensation for the Tong family. If Nan Yi knew what he was thinking, she would be furious.
Both men looked unwell. A pleasant knock came at the door, inviting the two masters to dine.
Sitting down at the table, Nan Yi forced a clean-cut expression to accompany them for the meal, but the conversation in the bedroom had severely affected her appetite.
Granny Zhao used all her skills to prepare a delicious meal, which the thirteenth and fourteenth ate with great relish. Nan Yi counted the grains of rice, and Yinzhen, unable to bear seeing this, took the initiative to put a lot of food on her plate.
Nan didn't even look at it, put down her chopsticks, and picked up the small pastries that Yiren had put on the table for her as snacks.
She has a strange appetite, and doesn't distinguish between formal meals and snacks. Often, when she eats, there's everything on the table, and she just has to decide what she wants to eat.
After casually eating a couple of pastries, Nan remembered that she had something to ask Yinzhen. She reached out and put a pastry in his rice bowl, nodded, and asked in a low voice, "Can I take Yiren and Xiaoshunzi with me?"
Yinzhen stared at the pastries speechlessly. When asking for favors, could he at least put some thought into it? "There are limited spots available. You can only bring one maid to serve you."
"I want Xiaoshunzi and Yiren to be together," Nan Yi insisted.
Yinzhen remained silent, picked up his chopsticks and put a pastry into his mouth, then pushed the full bowl of untouched food in front of Nan Yi, his meaning quite clear.
Nan Yi glanced at him and said, "I'm full."
Yinzhen shook his head, "Two pieces of pastry are enough to fill me up. Who used to eat from a wooden bucket?"
"Ahem~" Fourteen, who was eating, suddenly heard his fourth brother's teasing remark and looked at the two of them with a smile, "Little brother, I think I missed something fun?"
