Oh no! These were her most prized hands. In a panic, she pulled out a handkerchief and pressed it against the wound. Her adoptive parents had always said that one's body and hair are gifts from one's parents and should not be damaged carelessly.
She has practiced martial arts since childhood and never easily allows herself to get injured, and this has been even more true since her debut. Now, even though it is someone else's body, she must cherish it even more, after all, it belongs to someone else, and if that person returns one day, she can take it back intact.
Once the bleeding stopped, the white handkerchief was completely stained red. Just as she was about to go back, Qingyun and Yiren came looking for her. Not wanting them to see her injury, she stuffed the handkerchief into the flower bushes and rubbed the bloodstains on the ground a few times until they were no longer noticeable before stopping.
The two walked up to Nan Yi and, seeing that she was expressionless, both breathed a sigh of relief. Just now, their master had walked away without a word, and Xiao Shunzi had given her a wink before leaving. They were secretly afraid that something might have happened.
They had initially thought their master would at least stay for a meal, but their hopes were dashed. Yi Ren tentatively asked, "Master, are you alright?"
Nan smiled at her and said, "What is it? Don't worry about nothing."
"Then why did Master leave?" Qingyun asked, frowning.
"He must have something to do," Nan Yi raised an eyebrow. Although she had driven him away in anger, she couldn't tell the truth.
Qingyun and Yiren exchanged a glance. Something was definitely wrong. Otherwise, why would Xiaoshunzi have hinted at it? But seeing that their masters didn't want to talk about it, they didn't press them for details. There were some things that their masters couldn't say out loud, and it wasn't something they, as servants, could concern themselves with.
Nan Yi took a few deep breaths. Even in the Qing Dynasty, she had learned to be sentimental, which was really unlike her. She then felt relieved and raised her voice, "Alright, maids, your mistress is hungry. Hurry up and feed me."
The two men, supporting Nan Yi, laughed in unison and said, "This servant obeys."
"She's such a good girl," Nan Yi sighed, feeling that her efforts to protect them hadn't been in vain. The three of them chatted and laughed as they left.
Back in the bedroom, Nan Yi leaned against the couch without moving, saying she wanted to eat steamed egg custard. She awkwardly used her left hand while eating. Qingyun looked at her strangely, and she smiled sheepishly, saying that her left hand was also nimble. Qingyun thought to herself, "My master is making trouble again."
Nan Yi's excuse about being clumsy temporarily fooled those around him.
He avoided taking a bath with the maids and sent them out before going to bed. He secretly checked his wound at night, wanting to apply some medicine, but unfortunately, he couldn't find any ointment after searching high and low. He thought he would go out tomorrow to find those three guys, as it wouldn't be good if the maids found out about his wound.
