Nan Yi's gaze darted around, thinking to herself, "I don't want to wear these ugly clothes, but my girl can't bear to part with them. What if I compromise?" She glanced at him, quietly moved closer to him, and blurted out in a flattering tone, "Honey!"
Nan Yi doesn't actually know how to please men. In her previous life, it was always men who tried to please her, especially her senior brothers, who always granted her every request and never neglected or wronged her in the slightest.
However, even if you've never seen a pig run, you've certainly eaten pork, and that's how the senior brother's girlfriend always asks for something.
What is a husband?
"Oh," she frowned in annoyance, her attempt had backfired, she had forgotten that this was ancient times. "Well, it's 'husband'," she changed her address again, smiling charmingly, "my lord."
"Hmm," Yinzhen smiled slightly, this is not bad. Seeing that his expression had softened, she said, "Husband, let's make a deal, shall we?"
"What's there to discuss? That last one is out of the question."
“The clothes are really ugly,” she frowned.
“Then let’s make a new one,” he said, not lacking money.
Nan Yi choked, "Rich people are different, but..." Nan Yi persisted, grabbing his arm and clinging to him.
She's even resorting to using her beauty as a weapon. Yinzhen found it amusing and was eagerly anticipating her next move.
"Look at their clothes, they're like tree trunks. No matter how beautiful they are or how good their figures are, it doesn't show them off."
"I don't think so," said the ladies of high society. "They all dress like this, and I've never heard anyone say it looks bad."
Nan Yi sighed. Her honey trap hadn't worked. Had her charm diminished? She'd have to try those other girls next time. "What I mean is, we need to change, but not so much."
She compared her waistline to her own, and every time Yinzhen looked at her, he felt an irresistible itch, but she remained oblivious.
“Let’s loosen up a bit and make some minor changes to the original.” After she finished speaking, seeing that he seemed to be thinking, she quickly added, “Take a look after you’ve made the changes, and we’ll discuss it further if it’s suitable,” looking at him expectantly.
He hesitated for a moment, lowered his eyes and thought for a while, and said, "Okay, I'll make some minor changes. Please check it for me when you're done." He decided not to dampen her enthusiasm for now, so that she wouldn't always act on her own initiative in the future.
Upon hearing this, Nan's eyes sparkled, and she nodded repeatedly, saying happily, "Of course, of course," while fawningly shaking his hand, practically begging for a tail.
Yinzhen calmed down, and Nan Yi turned her head away, thinking to herself, "Men are really easy to coax; a few sweet words are all it takes."
She used to dislike her eldest sister-in-law, who was so delicate and always knew how to fawn over her eldest brother, calling him "my dear husband" and "my good husband," and occasionally calling him "Brother Zhi" this and "Brother Zhi" that. Her eldest brother would always be melted by her charms and wish he could give his life to her.
Even the most potent love potion is nothing more than this.
The two stopped worrying about the clothes, and Yinzhen put his arm around her and walked back, casually asking, "When are you planning to move back to the manor?"
She was dumbfounded. She hadn't considered this. How would she escape once she returned to the manor? And what about those ruthless women in the manor who could kill without shedding a drop of blood...?
Nan Yi's mind flashed through all sorts of secret fights, brawls, swords, hidden weapons, and poisons. Wait, no, she absolutely couldn't go back.
She aspires to the vast world outside, not to the insignificant backyard of her great-uncle.
If she had to go back before running away, she would have to think about what to do. Of course, it would be best if she could retaliate against the two wives who had killed the original owner of the body.
The original owner of this body died because of their intentional or unintentional meddling.
Seeing that she looked unwell, Yinzhen assumed she was still upset about what happened last time, so he comforted her, saying, "Go back to the manor and apologize to the Fujin and Li Shi. Get along well with them. The Fujin is a magnanimous woman and won't make things difficult for you."
What... Damn it, she felt a surge of anger, stuck in a rut. She was just mentally preparing for a fight, and now, before the fight even started, she was being forced to admit defeat? That would be incredibly humiliating.
Absolutely not. Besides, what's wrong with this man? How can he be so protective of other women in front of her, treating her like a pushover?
She felt a pang of sadness, perhaps because the original owner's feelings still lingered in her body, indirectly affecting her emotions.
Nan Yi wanted to drive away this strange feeling. He was feeling bad himself, and he wanted to make him feel bad too, since he had married the original owner of this body.
She died so young, and he's acting like a big shot, demanding she apologize. How wronged she was!
"It wasn't my fault, why should I apologize? The truth is still unknown."
She simply wouldn't admit it, what could he do?
Yinzhen was startled, and when he came to his senses, he flung her away. Nan Yicui was caught off guard and stumbled back a few steps, her body bumping into a blooming rose branch next to her.
He remained unmoved even as she groaned in pain, his eyes cold and distant as he looked at her.
The woman took advantage of his kindness and became spoiled. A look of annoyance flashed quickly in his eyes. He had always disliked women who were unyielding, ignorant of their place, and disobedient.
Yinzhen remained calm and composed, smoothing out the wrinkles in his sleeves as he looked at her indifferently. "It seems you haven't reflected on your actions yet. Very well, you can reflect on them here. The manor doesn't mind having another idle person."
After saying this, he strode away, as if the kiss just now was nothing but a dream. To him, apart from his primary wife, other women were merely objects to bear him children and to provide comfort when he was bored. A few words of flattery were the limit; he would not tolerate any further advances.
Furthermore, as a prince, his primary concern is a peaceful inner court and harmonious relations between his wives and concubines. She crossed his most intolerable line. She's just a disobedient woman, and he doesn't mind having another bite to eat with her.
As Nan watched his figure gradually disappear, she snorted coldly. Keeping her around for nothing was exactly what she wanted.
She could eat, drink, and live for free, with maids to serve her—it was like living the life of a god. She had no desire to run away if she could live like that forever.
Nan Yi didn't care about Yinzhen's departure. She tried to stand up, and a sharp pain came from her palm. She felt a wet, sticky sensation. When she raised her hand, she realized that when she fell, her hand had pressed on the broken corner of the flowerpot, cutting a gash. Blood dripped from between her fingers onto the ground.
