Chapter Five: Good Man, Bad Man

Nan Yi happened to see that she felt a pang of heartache, and on a whim, she casually ordered, "Qingyun, go to the storeroom and pick out a few bolts of fine fabric to make some summer clothes for your master, and also make a few for yourself."

Upon hearing this, Qingyun was slightly taken aback, then her expression brightened with joy, and she thanked him in a lighthearted tone, "Yes, thank you, Master."

Just as Nan Yi sat down on the couch, a greeting sounded from outside. The curtain was lifted, and Yinzhen, dressed in a dark brocade robe, walked in.

Oh my god, the devil is here.

Nan Yi quickly stood up, thinking to herself, "Thank goodness, if I had been any later, I would have been caught red-handed."

She wondered how he would react if he knew his concubine had secretly slipped out of the villa. Facing this future emperor, she still felt somewhat suppressed and nervous.

Seeing him again, I still think he's handsome, very handsome. Even the most handsome junior brother can only stand aside. Speaking of which, I miss the junior brother so much.

Yinzhen glanced at Madam Tong expressionlessly. She had been recuperating for more than ten days and her complexion was still quite good. Today, after court, he ran into Madam Tong's uncle, chatted for a while, and then headed back home. On the way, he inexplicably thought of her and, as if possessed, went to visit her at her other residence.

Seeing her standing there blankly, he felt slightly displeased. "What's wrong? Have you lost your mind? You can't even greet people properly anymore."

The imperial physician has confirmed that she has amnesia. So be it. If she has amnesia, so be it. It can't be cured. Just let her recover slowly. As long as she is healthy, that's fine.

"Greetings," Nan Yi thought blankly. "Yes, women of the Qing Dynasty royal family had to greet men. But how exactly were they greeted?" She tilted her head, wondering.

Yinzhen had already sat down in the chair next to her, half an arm's length away. Tongshi was still standing there dumbfounded. She sighed softly and said, "If you can't remember, then forget it. Learn from Qingyun these next few days. Come sit over here." He also bore some responsibility for this matter, so it wasn't entirely her fault.

Nan Yi was still trying to recall the etiquette of the Qing Dynasty when she came to her senses after a moment. "Hmm, what did you say?"

Yinzhen grew impatient and lowered his voice, "I told you to sit here." Could it be that you've hit your head and lost your senses, becoming incredibly stupid? How come I never noticed this before?

"Oh well"

Are you feeling better?

"Much better"

Is anything missing?

"We don't lack anything."

"If you need anything, send the servants back to the mansion and tell the Princess Consort to have it delivered."

"Um."

That concludes the conversation.

Is this how he usually communicates with his concubines? So composed and steady, Nan Yi felt a tickle in her mouth, wanting to tease him.

Seeing her looking like she wanted to strike but didn't dare to be presumptuous, Yinzhen secretly found it amusing. Last time she woke up, her expression was quite fierce; who was she trying to look pitiful for now?

He grasped her soft little hand in his large hand, caressing it in his palm. Seeing her lost in thought, he stared at her and asked, "Do you have something to ask me?"

Nan Yi tilted his head to look at her. The emperor's son was really something, a truly superior breed. Up close, he was incredibly handsome. And he was even her husband, even if it was only temporary. Considering she had traveled back three hundred years, that was still a good thing.

After much deliberation, with too many questions piling up in my mind, I inadvertently asked, knowing the answer already, "Are you my wife? No, am I your wife?"

"Wife... what is a wife?" Yinzhen frowned slightly, unable to understand the word.

Nan Yi explained, "It means Madam."

Yinzhen nodded, "You are my secondary wife." The wife is the primary consort, and the secondary consort is the secondary wife, which should be correct.

"Oh, my little wife." Nan Yi glanced sideways at the man beside her, his little wife who had some status.

The concubine is good, but she ran away, so she probably wasn't that important.

Nan Yi was still thinking about when and where she should run away, and she also needed to prepare enough money.

"With money, you can go anywhere in the world; without money, you can't even take a step." This is a wise saying.

She will never forget this.

Upon hearing this, Yinzhen's breath caught in his throat. He gripped her hand tightly in his palm. Nan Yi cried out "Hey!" and tried to pull her hand back immediately. But with a sudden pull, Nan Yi, caught off guard, fell into his arms.

Her face was pressed against the man's chest, and a faint, cool breath entered her nostrils.

Nan Yi felt a sudden surge of heat throughout her body, her face burning hot. Before she could break free, she was already sitting on the other person's lap, her slender waist tightly held and unable to move. She was extremely embarrassed and annoyed. Damn it, he took advantage of her the moment they met.

Yinzhen held the little woman in his arms tightly, seemingly enjoying her annoyed and shy demeanor. His brows relaxed as he said, "She's not a concubine, but a secondary consort."

"Isn't that a concubine?" Nan Yi murmured softly. She knew her identity as a concubine as soon as she woke up, and was secretly pleased about it.

As for concubines, one more or one less won't make a difference. I'll find an opportunity to fake my death and escape, then pack my bags and roam the world. If only Chen Jinnan really existed in this world.

To call oneself a hero is futile if one has never met Chen Jinnan.

This tragic hero possesses unparalleled martial arts skills. If you could learn even a move or two from him, you'd be laughing in your sleep.

Nan Yi was lost in his daydream, a dreamy smile on his face.

As Yinzhen listened to Wu Yi's soft words and Tong Shi's sweet smile, his heart softened for no reason. Although the term "little wife" was a strange description, it was still quite fitting. However, the word "little" in it was not very pleasant to hear.

Nan Yi swung her legs, cupped her face, and forgot where she was. Her mouth was like a tumble of witty remarks, "Apart from your first wife, all your other women are concubines. Although it's legal, it's a waste of resources for you to occupy so many positions."

The words sounded strange to Yinzhen, and he didn't quite understand, but Tong's tone seemed to indicate dissatisfaction, so he asked, "You, don't want to be a concubine, hmm, a mistress?" He heard that she was very happy when the marriage was arranged for him, could she regret it now?

"Nonsense, who wants to be a concubine?"

Nan Yi rolled his eyes, forgetting for a moment that he was the future emperor, the one who provided him with food and clothing; the swear words just slipped out.
