Chapter Ninety: Jade Causes Trouble

This man was originally a carefree playboy from the imperial family. He gradually became arrogant after his younger sister married the heir of Prince Yu and became his concubine. Later, he offered his daughter to the ninth prince as a concubine.

He is said to be quite favored. With two powerful backers, he has become increasingly unrestrained and acts more arrogantly. He often invites his cronies to walk chickens and play with dogs, causing trouble. Fortunately, he has not yet run into any real trouble.

Today, he had just dined at Huikeju with a group of playboys. Afterwards, he called out to go out on the street to digest his food and find some fun. As he passed a jade shop, he was blinded by the jade in someone's hand with a casual glance.

While the two were distracted, he reached out and snatched the jade in his hand, exclaiming in surprise, "Oh my, wow—it's really a fine jade!" The color was perfect and the jade was beautiful. Although it was a bit small, it did not affect its value. It was just right to give as a gift.

Startled, Xiao Xi snapped out of her daze, her eyebrows furrowing, and shouted, "Give it back to me!"

The middle-aged man glanced at her with disdain, "Where did this ignorant little brat come from, daring to snatch things from me?"

Xiao Xi was taken aback. She was annoyed that someone was trying to snatch something from her. She retorted, "This jade is mine. Who's taking it from whom? Please get your facts straight."

The middle-aged man was taken aback. "Yours, just you?" He glared at the jade craftsman warningly, and the jade craftsman lowered his head, not daring to utter a sound.

The men who came in with him also sized up Xiao Xi with ill intent, their lecherous eyes scanning her chest back and forth, whispering among themselves and occasionally bursting into laughter.

Xiao Xi was furious and angrily cursed, "Do you have any respect for the law? This is under the emperor's nose!"

“You want to talk about the law with me? I am the law, humph,” the middle-aged man said, and then went out, ignoring Xiao Xi. Xiao Xi was not one to back down from trouble, so he chased after them and stopped them.

"Halt! In broad daylight, you are openly robbing others of their property. You have no regard for the law. If you know what's good for you, come with me to Shuntian Prefecture. Otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite." Xiao Xi spoke righteously and forcefully, but the listeners were unmoved.

The middle-aged man smiled contemptuously and said, "Shuntian Prefecture? Who does Shuntian Prefecture think it is? I'm not going there." The playboys accompanying him also laughed loudly, and more and more people gathered around to watch the spectacle, pointing and whispering about them.

Xiao Xi stopped wasting words with him, stepped forward, grabbed the middle-aged man's arm, and kicked him hard in the knee joint. The man fell heavily to the ground. Seeing that things were not going well, the others rushed forward to surround her. Unfortunately, in just a few blows, more than ten people collapsed to the ground, groaning in pain.

Xiao Xi raised his head and stood to the side. Many people on the street had suffered at the hands of this group of spoiled brats, and they all shouted and applauded in unison, so many people that they completely blocked the road.
