She untied the ropes binding them, and the girls stood up one after another.
"We still can't get out, boohoo—"
"We can't beat the people outside, and we can't escape, boohoo—"
"Let's fight this thief! Waaah—"
"If people find out I was kidnapped, my in-laws will definitely not want me anymore, boohoo—"
The girls were all talking at once, crying and making a ruckus. Only one woman with a spirited and heroic air remained silent and very calm.
Nan Yi glanced at her unexpectedly, and she also looked Nan Yi up and down. After a moment of silence, she reassured everyone, "Someone from Shuntian Prefecture will come to rescue you soon. Don't worry, I've marked the route."
When the girls heard that someone had come to rescue her, they were overjoyed and surrounded her. How happy one must be when hope suddenly arises when one is in dire straits.
When Nan heard her say "you all," she thought to herself, "Doesn't that include you?"
No way, is it what she thinks? An undercover agent? They were prepared all along. It seems she's been busy for nothing. My dream of being a chivalrous heroine, when will it come true?
The girl seemed to know what she was thinking and smiled slightly, "But with you here, I feel more at ease. After all, no one knows what will happen next."
She was extremely nervous. What would she do if the adults didn't arrive on time? No matter how good her skills were, she couldn't withstand a large number of people. The girl who came later seemed to be very agile.
Upon hearing this, Nan's mood instantly improved. Fortunately, she still had a chance to prove herself.
Those outside seemed to notice the commotion inside and got up to check the door. The room was eerily quiet; the crying had stopped. The thief, however, was quite alert.
Nan Yi and the girl exchanged a glance, then whispered to the other girls in unison. The girls, upon hearing this, cleverly pretended to sob.
"Hello, my name is Xiao Xi, and I am a female constable in Shuntian Prefecture," the girl said, introducing herself.
"Nan Yi".
Nan Yi mentioned a modern name, but Nan Yi doesn't exist here anyway.
As if they had known each other for a long time, Nan asked familiarly, "Xixi, did you sneak in on purpose?"
When Xiao Xi heard her call her by her childhood name, her heart stirred, and a strange feeling lingered in her heart. Because she had loved martial arts since childhood and later worked in Shuntian Prefecture, she had only dealt with men and had almost no close female friends. In an instant, she liked Nan Yi as a friend, which laid the foundation for their lifelong bond.
"Yes, someone will come to pick us up when it gets dark," Xiao Xi said.
Nan patted her shoulder and raised an eyebrow at her, "What if you didn't come?"
"...No, that won't happen," Xiao Xi said hesitantly, revealing a hint of uncertainty and worry in his heart.
Nan pointed to the roof, "It's already dark."
The light inside the room went out completely. Nan Yi thought to herself, "With people from Shuntian Prefecture here, what's the point of playing around? The people outside are barely enough for her to warm up."
What are your thoughts?
"This is a way to lure the enemy into the house."
Xiao Xi thought about it for a moment and realized it would work.
Nan Yi walked to the door and looked at the shadows cast on it by the light. There were four people outside. She waved to the girls and waited for them to gather around.
Nan Yi pointed to a woman in white, who was the smallest and best suited to hide behind her, and instructed, "After we're ready, scream loudly. Once the door opens, Xiao Xi and I will take down two of them first. You guys grab the things and go ahead and attack them. Xiao Xi and I will handle the other two."
Xiao Xi looked at the girls and said, "If you're scared, hide in the back; if you're not, charge forward."
Perhaps it was because they were facing life and death, but they all wanted to fight to the death, and their courage was greatly increased. They all shook their heads. They were all brave and good girls, Nan Yi secretly praised, "Good, now everyone go and get ready, grab your weapons."
Xiao Xi, a true old-fashioned man, thought things through thoroughly and added, "Everyone should smear their faces black, just like Nan Yi."
No one knows what will happen outside. A young lady's reputation is more important than her life, so it's best if they don't know each other.
When the girls brought over their wooden sticks, the most surprising thing was the woman in white who pulled off the door bolt and carried it on her shoulder. Everyone chuckled, and Nan Yi shook his shoulder, thinking, "Why does it look like the Japanese invaders are coming to the village?"
Perhaps the laughter dispelled the tense atmosphere, Nan Yi coughed and whispered, "Pay attention, one... two... three."
"--ah"
The demonic sound pierced my brain.
Screams rang out, and the thieves outside rushed to the door upon hearing the cries. With a "bang," the door was kicked open, and four burly men blocked the entrance.
Nan Yi and Xiao Xi immediately kicked the person who was pushing the door down. Nan Yi kicked him hard, making the other person clutch his groin and fall to the ground with a groan. Then they attacked the remaining two.
After Xiao Xi and Nan Yi beat the two men to the ground, unable to get up, they glanced back and wiped away a cold sweat.
These usually delicate girls are surprisingly fierce. The two men who had fallen earlier were beaten so badly they looked like pigs, their faces covered in blood.
The girl in white, especially the one holding the door bolt, was ruthless. She slammed the bolt heavily into the man's head and chest, and he passed out unconscious.
Seeing that another blow was coming, Xiao Xi quickly ran over to stop him, "Alright, don't kill him, he still has a use."
The girl in white spat and cursed, "Dare to touch me, I'll die a hundred times over!" She then slung the door bolt over her shoulder with an air of authority.
Knowing the crisis was over, the girls smiled with relief. The two men who had opened the door first had already fainted, while the other two lay on the ground groaning. Xiao Xi had knocked them unconscious.
Nan Yi laughed and said, "Girls, how's it feeling to fight in a group?" A woman in green boldly replied, "One word: awesome."
“Remember this, if your man doesn’t listen to you in the future, just grab a weapon and beat them up, understand?” Nan Yi instigated.
Xiao Xi rolled her eyes, thinking to herself, "This girl has the potential to be a female tyrant."
After everyone rested for a while, Nan Yi observed from outside the door, "This is not a place to stay for long. It would be bad if more people came. Let's leave."
