第一百七八章 南下

月末,康老爷子带着一大班子人走了。

Half a month after Yinzhen left, Nan Yi slipped out and ran through the streets and alleys of the capital with Xiao Shunzi, going wherever there were crowds. After running for a while, Nan Yi looked back and asked Shunzi, "How was it? How was it? Did you shake them off?"

It's all Yinzhen's fault. He caused so much trouble when he went out. He still sent those two secret guards to keep an eye on her all the time, but when they found out, he made up some nonsense about being ordered to protect her.

The two bodyguards had clearly trained somewhere and their skills had improved considerably, forcing her to rack her brains to deal with them every time she tried to sneak away. She had to make full use of the innate advantages of the maids in Wanyue Pavilion, resorting to all sorts of tricks and even Qingyun's seductive scheme, in order to escape.

Eunuch Shun shook off his sweat, looking back as he ran, panting heavily. "Phew—Master, I've shaken him off. Ah, let's rest. My life is in danger."

He was completely impressed by the concubine. She would stop at nothing to get out of the house. He even felt sorry for the two bodyguards, Li Yi and Li Er.

“It’s good that you’ve shaken him off,” she blurted out as she saw Xiao Shunzi stop. “Stop resting, go find Xiao Xi first, and meet him at his house in half an hour.”

Xiao Shunzi's lips twitched, and he turned around helplessly and entered another alley. He was used to his master's occasional swear words, but he was not used to them and was even particularly curious. His master had a noble background and was born as a concubine, so she should be well-mannered. Even he couldn't say such words. How could she say them so casually?

From afar, Nan Yi spotted Yin Tang in a white robe, standing there with an elegant and refined air, slowly waving a jade fan, attracting the frequent glances of young women and wives along the roadside.

"Tch, what a show-off." It has to be said that a handsome man can still be handsome even with an odd hairstyle, and the Ninth Prince is even more captivatingly handsome.

She muttered a curse under her breath, quickly stepped forward, scrutinized him closely, and shook her head, saying, "Not bad, much more handsome than Niu Lang."

Yintang, who considered himself a ladies' man, froze instantly. Don't think he couldn't understand; anything that came out of her mouth was bound to be unpleasant.

"Tell me, why did you call me out? I already made plans to go out with Xixi and Zhenzhen."

Nan Yi pouted. They had just met two days ago, and since she rarely got to go out, she naturally thought of her two best friends.

Yintang glared at her helplessly. "You heartless brat! He thinks of you every day, yet you think of me less than two women? Humph!"

Oh, he's angry again. He's more petty than a woman, and this guy is a very wealthy man.

Nan Yi immediately forced a smile and flattered, "Of course not, you're much more important." But in his heart, he thought money was more important than you.

"That's more like it." The Ninth Prince hummed twice, then softened his tone, "I'm going out tomorrow, so I'm afraid I won't be able to stay in the capital for the time being."

The old man sent a secret imperial edict from afar, ordering him to go to Jiangnan to investigate the salt tax case.

She asked casually, "Oh, where to?"

Yintang winked slyly, tapped her palm lightly with her jade fan, and slowly uttered two words: "Jiangnan." Then she stared at her intently, her heart pounding. This brat wouldn't fall for it. Fourth Brother wasn't at the manor and wouldn't be back for several months. She was also in seclusion reflecting on her actions. Finding a substitute would be no problem.

“Jiangnan, what a wonderful place,” Nan Yixiao said, then realized what he meant and exclaimed in a low voice, “What, Jiangnan!”

She jumped forward and grabbed Yintang's sleeve, but she wasn't tall enough, so she leaned forward and stood on tiptoe against Yintang's chest, looking at him with bright eyes.

He pulled her closer, his arm supporting her slender waist. With her head bowed, their heads were about a hand's width apart, her beautiful and delicate face close at hand. Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, and fine beads of sweat glistened on her delicate nose. Her alluring red lips moved slightly, revealing her pearly white teeth when she smiled.

Suddenly, Yintang felt a dry mouth and an unbearable burning sensation in her chest. As if possessed, she lowered her head and lightly touched the delicate tip of her nose. A salty taste touched her tongue. Her gaze fell on the red lips, and she was about to...

"Ah—pervert!" Nan Yi exclaimed in shock, clutching her nose. In a fit of rage, she pinched Yin Tang's ear hard with her delicate hand and stomped her shoe on the man's instep.

"Ah—be gentle, be gentle," Yin Tang, who had successfully stolen the fragrance, quickly tried to save his ears and feet, which had suffered a few claws on his back and chest. Seeing that she was not calming down, he threw out a question, "Do you still want to go to Jiangnan?"

Nan Yi paused slightly. Jiangnan was a place she was sure to go to. She glared at him, grinding her teeth, and said, "You'd better come up with a complete plan, otherwise..." She bared her teeth and waved her claws.

Yintang rubbed her bright red ears, her face contorted in pain. It hurt so much! She was such a tigress; she wondered how her fourth brother could stand her.

Suddenly, a familiar, dull ache rose in his heart. He loved her so much, and the thought of her being so close to his fourth brother made his body turn as cold as snow, the chill seeping into his bones.

Even so, he found himself addicted to the pain she inflicted.

The stunned man's expressions shifted rapidly, sometimes grinning foolishly, sometimes frowning, sometimes turning cold.

The two agreed to meet at dawn the next day, and then went their separate ways to prepare.

Nan Yi was about to run away again, but she couldn't hide it from her three personal maids. Yi Ren blocked the door and demanded to go with her. Qing Yun and Qing Feng didn't recognize each other. They both wanted to see the beautiful Jiangnan that could make the emperor linger, even if it meant getting a beating when they returned.

The maids usually stayed in the backyard and rarely left the mansion. Jiangnan was simply a paradise in their dreams. Nan Yi originally wanted to go alone, but then she thought that Yin Tang had an official business to attend to and wouldn't have much time to accompany her. It would be good to have a maid accompany her.

Everyone wanted to go, but in the end, the decision was made by drawing lots. Surprisingly, it was Qingfeng who had kept quiet. The result was unexpected, and the disappointment in the eyes of the other two was obvious.

Nan Yi had anticipated this and assured the two girls that it would be their turn next time, which slightly comforted them.

"If one of the three of you disappears, will the Wanyue Pavilion reveal a flaw?"
