Chapter 15 I'll do whatever you say.

"Er'er?" That's a bit too intimate.

She didn't have time to think about the sudden change in address; her mind was entirely focused on wondering if her joke had gone too far and angered him.

She also understood that the person in front of her had enough power to control the life and death of her acting career.

Su Er pondered his expression; it didn't seem like he was angry, but she wasn't quite sure.

People like them never show their emotions; they may appear cheerful on the surface, but they are actually frighteningly meticulous. You might not even realize when you've offended them.

She met Jiang Siyan's gaze, trying her best to make her tone sound less timid, "What? Do I think differently from Mr. Jiang?"

Jiang Siyan said, "There's a bit of that."

"Then I've disappointed Mr. Jiang." Her speech was slightly faster than before.

Jiang Siyan curled his lips and teased her in a lazy tone, "Er'er, are you hoping I'll be disappointed?"

Disappointed? There won't be a next time. Maybe this meal will end here.

Su Er's little secret was so bluntly exposed. The rich aroma of sake wafted into her nostrils across the small table, making her face flush.

Su Er didn't know if others felt this way, but in front of this person, she always seemed to lose the upper hand.

He was handsome, with expressive eyes and a detached demeanor.

Su Er had to admit that whenever Jiang Siyan looked at her with a smile, even though she had seen many glamorous faces in the entertainment industry, she couldn't help but be momentarily distracted.

Good looks are common, but an aloof and unrestrained temperament is something one is born with.

Yet, this very person, in her laughter and conversation, reveals a unique indulgence and pampering that is unique to her.

Everyone has vanity, and it's easy for such indulgence to breed a sense of overestimation and arrogance.

Su Er felt that she was just an ordinary person, at most she could see things more clearly.

So much so that she had to constantly remind herself to stay fully alert, lest she lose her focus and unknowingly drown in it.

Jiang Siyan waited for her answer, but Su Er thought that saying too much would only make things worse, so she finally managed to say, "You're joking."

Jiang Siyan didn't dwell on the topic any further; he seemed to know exactly where Su Er's bottom line was.

The foxtail grass that teased her always left an annoying itch on her skin, but it wasn't enough to make her angry.

Su Er sipped her tea slowly, pondering what topic to use to end the dinner.

She opened her mouth, about to speak, when her phone, which was on the table, began to vibrate rhythmically.

Jiang Siyan glanced at the caller ID, his expression turning serious. He raised his hand and pointed to the dishes on the table. "You eat first, I'll take this call."

Su Er nodded, stopped eating, and sat properly with her eyes fixed straight ahead.

Jiang Siyan didn't try to avoid her. He walked to the window and opened it a crack. The sound of the spring breeze rustling through the leaves drifted into her ears, and a few strands of hair swayed gently by her ears, as if telling her that the night was deep and the wind was picking up.

She subconsciously looked in the direction the wind was coming from. A tall, slender figure leaned against the windowsill, replying to the phone in a detached tone, "Eating."

After hearing what was said on the other end, Jiang Siyan scoffed disdainfully, "You can't sit still anymore? You've even complained to you about it."

Cold-hearted and heartless, that's his true nature.

She lowered her head and looked down, knowing that it was not something she should be paying attention to.

"I know, don't worry, I'm hanging up." As he finished speaking, Su Er vaguely sensed the impatience in his tone.

Su Er lowered her head and secretly grumbled to herself, "At least in this respect, the world is fair. Even someone of Jiang Siyan's status and position will always have troubles."

"Ding—" It was the sound of the metal lid opening that she was very familiar with.

Sister Qin is right, her smoking addiction is indeed a troublemaker.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have nodded without hesitation and said "yes" when Jiang Siyan asked, "Want to smoke?"

The crimson glint between her fingers shone like a ruby in the night, and the rising smoke whispered an alluring invitation in her ear.

His brow relaxed a little, and he said, "Then aren't you coming over?"

She believed herself to be weak and easily misled.

As Su Er stepped onto the brick pavement, she silently counted in her mind that there were only ten steps between them.

Despite the many years of weathering, the courtyard is remarkably well-preserved. The windows are typical of the U-shaped window frames, which, though not large, frame an exceptionally beautiful view.

A window and a painting—the aesthetics of our ancestors never go out of style, no matter when you look at them.

At this moment, she and he were both framed in this scene, becoming people in this painting.

Jiang Siyan's cigarette case was casually placed on the windowsill. She took one out, put it to her lips, and someone chuckled as they leaned over to light it for her.

The smoke was hazy, and time seemed to rewind to the night they first met. Now, however, there was no trace of innocence or naivety in her.

Even fairies can fall into the mortal world for a moment's desire.

The cigarette tasted milder than the ones she usually smoked, and it was very fragrant. The similar scent lingering around her nose seemed to bring them closer together in an invisible way.

After smoking half a cigarette, Su Er calmly continued what had just been interrupted: "Thank you for taking care of me last time. Your clothes are at the hotel and have been dry-cleaned. If it's convenient, could you give me an address and I'll have someone deliver them to you?"

The sentence contained four instances of the polite form "you".

The words were spoken beautifully and formally, serving as a prime example of clearly drawing a line.

Jiang Siyan stretched his hand out the window, touched the nearly burnt-out cigarette, and let the gray smoke drift away in the wind. He looked down at the faint fragrance that was so close to him and said, "Thanks for accepting it. There's something we need to clarify."
