Su Er covered her mouth, not daring to make a sound, but without the slightest hesitation, she dialed the police number.
Just as she was about to hide in the bathroom, she heard a familiar voice coming from the doorway, "Xiao Er, are you back? Why didn't you open the door?"
Su Er hesitated before approaching the door, her voice still trembling with sobs, "Sister Qin?"
"You brat, open the door!" Lin Shuqin scolded.
"Sister Qin, just swipe your card and come in." The emergency call had been connected. Su Er leaned against the wall, too weak to walk to the door, and slumped down to the ground, speaking to the operator, "Yes, they've harassed me before. I had a police report a year ago. Now they're in the same hotel as me, harassing me using a landline..."
Lin Shuqin heard this sentence as she swiped her card to enter the room, and quickly closed the door.
Su Er gave the hotel name and room number, then, holding her head, her disheveled hair clearly showed that her nerves were stretched to the limit. She thanked the person on the other end of the phone in a weak voice, "Okay, thank you for your help."
Lin Shuqin knelt down beside her and asked anxiously, "Xiao Er, what's wrong? Did that person harass you again?"
Su Er covered her face and nodded weakly, "It was an internal call."
Lin Shuqin was startled. "He's at the hotel!"
As Su Er listened to Lin Shuqin's words, she recalled the terrifying moment just now, and then thought that the person might still be not far from her and could appear at any time. Her nose couldn't help but feel sore.
Such obsessive fans would terrify any artist, regardless of how long they've been in the industry.
Moreover, Su Er has only been acting for a short time; she's still just a young girl.
It's already quite an achievement to be able to stay calm and clearly explain the facts to the police when faced with something like this.
Seeing her sniffling and sobbing, Lin Shuqin felt even more heartbroken.
She patted Su Er's back and then glanced at the time. In a calm voice, she reassured her, "Xiao Er, don't be afraid. I'll talk to the hotel first and then have the bodyguards come over. I'll handle the police later. Pack your things and go to my room with Fang Li to rest. Don't worry about anything else."
Su Er knew this wasn't the time to distract Lin Shuqin from comforting her. She wiped away her tears, leaned against the wall, and stood up. "Sister Qin, thank you."
Lin Shuqin helped her sit down on the edge of the bed, saying, "Don't say such formal things."
Inside the room, Lin Shuqin was standing by the window making a phone call, arranging for bodyguards. "Yes, come over right now."
After calming down for a while, Su Er quickly began packing her luggage.
After everything was packed, there was a knock on the door, three knocks in a rhythmic pattern, two light and one heavy, accompanied by a steady voice, "Sister Qin."
Lin Shuqin then opened the door, only to find several burly men blocking the entrance completely.
The police and bodyguards arrived one after the other. After understanding the situation from Su Er, Lin Shuqin took over the conversation after the basic facts were clear. "Excuse me, officers, if it's convenient, could my lawyer and I cooperate with you to continue following up on this matter? My artist does not wish to have any further contact with the harasser."
Su Er had learned most of what she needed to know. The police handed her the notebook and asked her to sign it. They were very friendly and only said that if the procedure required it, Su Er would still have to come forward, since she was the person involved.
Su Er's eyes were still red, but her gaze was firm. "I will cooperate. Thank you for your help."
The police officer glanced at Su Er, then at the luggage they were carrying, and gestured to Lin Shuqin, "We'll talk to the hotel manager first, please wait a moment."
Lin Shuqin understood that this was giving her time. She took the luggage from Su Er's hand and said, "Let's go, let's change rooms first."
Lin Shuqin and Fang Li surrounded Su Er in the innermost circle, creating a tight, airtight environment that gave her a strong sense of security.
Lin Shuqin didn't go into the room with them, but only told them: "Unplug the phone line as soon as you get in. The bodyguards will be guarding the door. I'll come over after things are settled. If you're sleepy, go to bed early."
Su Er agreed to Lin Shuqin's instructions one by one until the door closed, as if the inside and outside of the door were separated into two different worlds.
Su Er sat on the sofa, calming herself down. The room was quiet and peaceful, but she was still shaken. Her mind was on edge, and her temples were throbbing.
Fang Li put down her luggage and leaned close to her, full of concern, "Sister Er'er, are you alright?"
Su Er's eyes flickered slightly as she looked back. She forced a smile and said, "I'm fine. Lili, are you sleepy?"
After all that commotion, it was already quite late.
Fang Li rubbed her eyes. "A little, but it's okay. I'll chat with you for a while."
Su Er patted her shoulder and gave her a reassuring smile, "No need, you go to bed and sleep. I'll wash my face and do some skincare and then go to sleep too."
"But……"
Su Er gently pushed her away, trying to keep her tone light, "What's there to say but? Go to sleep. If you can't get up for the early flight tomorrow, I'll have Sister Qin dock your pay."
Fang Li was eventually shooed to the bed by Su Er, who kept turning back to look at her. The main light in the room was turned off, leaving only a reading lamp next to the sofa.
Before falling asleep, Fang Li straightened up again and said, "Sister Er'er, if you have anything to do or are unhappy, just wake me up and I'll stay with you."
Su Er turned her back to her and whispered "okay".
The breathing on the bed quickly became steady. The air conditioner was on, and Su Er wrapped herself in a shawl and nestled in the corner of the sofa.
