Chapter 63 My Girlfriend, Su Er

Su Er pursed her lips, on the verge of tears, but managed to force a smile the moment her eyes met Aunt Cui's.

"Thank you, Aunt Cui." As she spoke, Su Er got up to take the bowl.

Jiang Siyan took the bowl of mung bean soup and put it on the table. "Alright, Aunt Cui, let her drink less. If she fills her belly with soup, she won't be able to eat anything later."

Aunt Cui slapped her forehead and said regretfully, "Look at me, I was so confused. Xiao Er, you eat first. Leave the soup there, and we can chill it when it cools down."

"Mm." Su Er pulled her shawl around her shoulders and sat back down in the chair. After Aunt Cui had walked away, she gently ran her little finger along the back of Jiang Siyan's hand twice and said, "Thank you, Jiang Siyan."

Jiang Siyan glanced at her, his face devoid of a smile, and said, "Your thank-you gift is quite substantial."

Su Er grinned and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek. "How about this thank-you gift? Are you satisfied?"

Jiang Siyan: "It's so-so."

She was quite good at coaxing people. Taking advantage of the fact that it was just the two of them in the dining room, she left several more lip prints on his cheek and said confidently, "A few so-so ones add up to a lot of satisfaction."

Jiang Siyan was amused by her twisted logic, picked up a piece of beef with his chopsticks and fed it to her: "Great philosopher, I can't argue with you. Eat your food properly, okay?"

Seeing his brows relax, Su Er contentedly lowered her head to eat.

During the intensive training period, and with the official start of filming not far off, Su Er's demands on herself were almost harsh. If Jiang Siyan hadn't come to pick her up today, she probably would have just grabbed a simple low-fat meal at the cafeteria and made do.

However, the stir-fries were too tempting. Su Er ate until she was about three-tenths full, but she couldn't put down her chopsticks. She could only reluctantly ask Jiang Siyan to supervise her, "Keep an eye on me. You can only eat three more bites of each dish at most."

Jiang Siyan teased, "What's wrong? Even when acting in a Qing Dynasty drama, you're adopting the 'no more than three meals' rule."

Su Er was embarrassed by his laughter and, in a fit of anger, was about to punch his arm with her soft fist.

Before the fist could land, Zhang Yang's loud shouts from outside reached in first.

Someone is shouting: "Old Chiang!"

"Look, I told you I could see his yard was lit up from the front. He's probably hiding inside having a good time right now."

Judging from the voices, there was more than one person. Another, more composed voice, accompanied by a smile, said, "Old Jiang, you're not being fair. I rarely come back, and it's so hard to even get you to come out for a meal."

...

Su Er, curious, couldn't help but peek out the window.

However, the group had already reached the doorway, their figures blocked by the screen.

Su Er heard several people call out "Aunt Cui" in unison, their tone much more composed than before.

Aunt Cui responded and then pointed to them, "Yan-ge'er is eating inside with someone."

Ji Hong was somewhat surprised, "Oh, we actually have guests today."

The sound of hurried footsteps drew closer. Su Er glanced down at her shawl, adjusted it, and just then, the group passed by the screen.

Su Er looked up and saw several people, each different, but all good-looking. What stood out most was their temperament; they all seemed like gentle breezes and bright moons.

However, one of them immediately exuded a roguish air when he opened his mouth.

The man glanced at Su Er with a flirtatious look in his eyes, "Old Jiang, you've got some pretty girls hidden away."

Su Er felt a little uncomfortable at his tone, so she silently adjusted her emotions, put on a gentle smile, and prepared to get up.

Regardless of the circumstances, he's Jiang Siyan's friend, so I should still greet him.

Jiang Siyan took her wrist, indirectly preventing her from getting up, and introduced her to them in a generous and open manner: "This is my girlfriend, Su Er."

The moment the word "girlfriend" was uttered, the air seemed to freeze almost imperceptibly.

Those who had been casually looking at her suddenly took on a more meaningful look.

Su Er understood why there was a pause, but she simply pretended to be oblivious and acted as if she hadn't noticed anything.

Besides, she didn't care what these people thought of her.

What she sought from the very beginning was simply that the hand holding hers was warm; that was enough.

"Hello, I'm Su Er." She always had a perfectly timed smile on her face.

Jiang Siyan raised an eyebrow. "Sit down, everyone. What are you standing there for? Waiting for me to pull out chairs for you?"

They were all old friends who had known each other since childhood, and they naturally became familiar with each other in just a few words.

Jiang Siyan introduced them to her one by one: Ye Tingshu, Lu Yunzhong. When he pointed to Ji Hong, as if to vent his anger for her, Jiang Siyan gave a casual comment: "This guy is not serious, you should ignore him."

Upon hearing this, Ji Hong was furious and shouted at the top of his lungs, "Hey, Lao Jiang, how can you talk like that? Are you afraid I'll overshadow you?"

Watching this scene, Su Er was also infected by the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere between them, and her previously tense back completely relaxed.

Ji Hong seemed to be trying to clear his name by toning down his previous dissolute playboy behavior, but he still spoke with a nonchalant air, "This is the little fairy, right? I've heard so much about you."

Although Su Er still didn't know how she got this nickname, she still nodded and smiled at Ji Hong, replying politely but distantly, "Hello."

Her delicate and three-dimensional features, with the movement of her eyebrows and eyes, outline a cool and unrestrained elegance that is pleasing to the eye.

This time, Ji Hong sincerely praised, "The name 'Little Fairy' is indeed fitting; she is truly beautiful."

Jiang Siyan glanced at him sideways, his face clearly saying, "Do you need to tell me that?"
