Chapter 70 How could you not like me?

It was already past eight o'clock when Su Er and Xi Wangshu finished their beauty treatments.

Xi Wangshu had to get up early the next day to lead a team to a meeting at the school, so she couldn't stay up too late.

Fortunately, the hotel that Lin Shuqin arranged for her was not too far from where Xi Wangshu was staying, only a ten-minute drive away.

The two of them went to Su Er's place together first and ordered a lot of delicious food, including barbecue, fried chicken, and beer. They ordered all the things they wouldn't normally dare to touch.

Su Er didn't have any activities for the next few days, and she did lose a lot of weight during that time. Lin Shuqin had to go back to the company for a meeting, so she didn't say much, only reminding her to lock the door before going to bed and to call her if anything happened.

Su Er readily agreed, drinking wine and eating meat while chatting with Xi Wangshu until almost ten o'clock.

Xi Wangshu knew what she was doing and didn't drink too much, just one bottle of beer, and she didn't even show any signs of drunkenness on her face.

She glanced at the time, then at the slightly drunken face on the sofa, and snatched the bottle from her hand. "Alright, so you're planning to make up for all the drinks you didn't have before, right?"

There were two or three beer cans next to the sofa, not to mention that Su Er hadn't had enough to drink, so she ordered some red wine.

Su Er swallowed the slightly bitter liquid in her mouth and said confidently, "I rarely do this, and I'm not drunk. It's just a slight buzz, you know?"

"Alright, alright, I'm a little tipsy. I can't stay with you any longer. I have to go back. I have to get up early tomorrow." Xi Wangshu bent down to pick up her bag and slung it over her shoulder.

"Ah, so early..." Su Er pouted, feeling regretful, but still looked down to get her phone. "I'll call a car for you."

Xi Wangshu stopped her, "No need, I've already called the car. You should go back and rest, and make sure to lock the door."

Su Er followed her to the door like a little shadow, reluctantly pressing her head against the doorframe to wave goodbye, "Okay, don't forget to call me when you get to the hotel!"

Xi Wangshu waved to her, signaling her to go inside quickly.

Su Er locked the door and turned around. There were still many snacks on the table, but without anyone to share them with, they seemed rather bland.

She leaned back on the sofa, feeling drowsy and sleepy. She patted her face to perk herself up, and only after receiving Xi Wangshu's call did she finally relax and rest her head on the sofa, falling asleep.

As for skincare and exercise... she doesn't want to do anything today.

Su Er didn't know how long she had slept when she vaguely heard a knock on the door. "Hello, room service."

Room service? Did she call for it? I don't quite remember.

Su Er gave a mumbled reply, but remained slumped on the sofa, feeling utterly lazy and showing no intention of getting up.

The knocking on the door continued. Su Er reached for her phone and glanced at it. It was past eleven o'clock. What room service had she called? Was she drunk when she made the call?

She struggled to get up from the sofa, walked to the door, put her hand on the doorknob, but didn't open it right away. "I'm sorry, no need, I'm sorry to have troubled you."

The sounds outside the door faded, as if they had already left.

Just as Su Er was about to turn around and lie back on the bed, she suddenly heard the sound of a room card being swiped coming from the door behind her.

Again and again, it was like trying to open a door...

The lingering effects of the alcohol vanished in an instant, and the continuous dripping sound was like a bomb that could explode at any moment.

Su Er pressed herself against the door, grabbing her phone to call the police while trying to ask, her trembling voice filled with undisguised fear, "Who are you!"

The person seemed to pause for a moment, then quickly screamed, "Xiao Er, don't you recognize me? Why don't you recognize me? I like you so much! I attend every one of your events! I know all your favorite things! How could you not like me?"

It's him again!

As luck would have it, she had just finished training today, and her bodyguards weren't there.

Originally, he thought nothing would happen in one night, and judging from the time, this person should have been released in the afternoon. Who would have thought that the detention period had not brought him any deterrent power, but only made him more fearless, thinking that he would be released after only two days of detention.

A question seemed to stir up the most humble side of that person's heart. The door behind her was being pounded on repeatedly, the metallic clanging of the latches growing louder and louder. The parts were already loose, and with her strength, she was simply unable to stop the explosive rush at any moment.

She didn't even have time to shed a tear. Before the door could still hold open, she ran to the bathroom as fast as she could, closed the door, used a clothes hanger to brace the handle, and quickly gave the police her address.

Fortunately, there was an internal telephone in the bathroom. With the sound of the front door being smashed, Su Er trembled slightly, but still managed to calm down and give the staff her room number.

"Xiao Er! Why are you avoiding me! Why did you call the police to arrest me! I love you! I love you more than that man who went out with you!"

Su Er felt his voice getting closer and closer. She could only grip the clothes hanger tightly in her hand, shrink into the corner, and stare unblinkingly at the wooden door of the bathroom.

That was her last line of defense.

The wooden door to the bathroom seemed to be heading down the same fate as the previous bedroom door. Su Er trembled involuntarily, her nails digging deep into her palms out of fear, the sharp pain keeping her conscious.

The clothes hanger fell to the ground, as if it were a declaration... a declaration of impending danger.

The bathroom door was about to be forced open, and Su Er couldn't help but cry out. At the critical moment, a series of noisy footsteps came from outside, "What are you doing! Lie down!"

The door was no longer shaking. Su Er stared blankly at the door. Someone knocked on the door, and a woman's voice asked urgently, "Miss Su, I'm sorry, are you alright?"

Su Er's eyelashes trembled slightly, and her disordered breathing, caused by shock, finally eased at this moment.

The people outside the door were still anxiously calling her name, trying to confirm her safety.

"I'm fine, please wait a moment." Su Er had no choice but to reply first. Her hands and feet were weak, and she had to support herself on the ground and lean against the wall to stand up little by little.

She opened the door a crack, and the sight of several figures in uniform brought her a sense of security.

The hotel manager helped her sit down on the sofa and kept apologizing to her. The police also came over to ask her some basic questions. All sorts of voices filled her mind, but Su Er could no longer muster the energy to respond.

She remained silent for a long time before slowly raising her eyes. "I'm sorry, I really don't have the strength. Could I make a phone call?"

"Please go ahead."

Su Er swiped her phone and, without hesitation, dialed Jiang Siyan's number.

All she knew was that in that instant, she suddenly missed him terribly.

The corners of my eyes, which I had already wiped dry, became sore and wet again the moment the call connected.

She sobbed and asked him if he could come and pick her up.

All the grievances and fears could no longer be suppressed when facing him.
