Chapter 131 My Beloved

This travel variety show is Su Er's first variety show appearance.

Lin Shuqin knew her personality; she was rather slow to warm up to unfamiliar people, so she didn't choose a traditional variety show for her, one that featured a large group of people traveling together.

There are only two guest stars in total, and the show has a more slow-paced feel, like a road trip documentary.

The variety show will be filmed for half a month, and the travel destination is the South of France.

Because the show required filming to begin as soon as you started packing your luggage, Su Er moved back to her home two days early.

The camera started recording the whole thing, and Su Er couldn't even easily call Jiang Siyan. Just before she left, she sent him a text message: "I'm handing over my phone now, don't miss me too much!"

Su Er knew that Jiang Siyan had a meeting today, so she didn't expect him to reply to the message immediately.

But just a second before she was about to hand over her phone, it vibrated, and Su Er quickly withdrew her outstretched hand. "Excuse me, I need to reply to this message."

The mere three words, "I understand," were enough to dampen Su Er's spirits.

In front of the camera, Su Er suppressed the urge to pout.

Then, my phone vibrated again, and my depressed mood lifted up again.

It was another message from Jiang Siyan, this time saying: "I'll miss you, have a safe journey."

She seemed unable to express in words the emotions she felt at that moment.

She typed "Don't miss me too much" against her will, but in reality, every word meant, "Jiang Siyan, remember to miss me."

Su Er sometimes feels that she has a rather complicated personality. She hopes that even if she doesn't say anything, there will still be someone who understands her complex inner world.

This is destined to be an extremely difficult task.

But now there's this one person who seems to see right through all her awkwardness and contradictions.

Su Er was looking at her phone for too long when a staff member urged her, "Xiao Er, it's time to board, are you done?"

Su Er then handed over her phone.

On the plane, the staff asked her in a cryptic way if she knew who was traveling with her.

"Should I know, or shouldn't I know?" Su Er asked, embarrassed.

News travels very fast on the internet; it's impossible to be completely unaware of it.

Su Er had to leave two days later due to work, while Shu Sui arrived there before her, and fans had already posted pictures of their encounter.

As soon as the plane landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Su Er saw that familiar figure as soon as she stepped out of the arrival gate. She waved to her and quickly pushed her luggage toward her, "Sister Sui!"

"Xiao Er! You look even more beautiful!" Shu Sui quickly came up to her and hugged her. "You look great right now, much better than the last time I saw you."

The two had met at an event before, during a very difficult period for her, and Shu Sui had given her a lot of guidance.

Although August is the height of summer in France, and the sun is strong, the temperature is far from unbearably hot.

They rented a car in Paris and traveled for fifteen days, passing through Avignon, Provence, Cannes, Nice, Marseille, and finally back to Paris.

The production team didn't give them any rigid travel plans. Su Er and Shu Sui took turns driving, stopping whenever they got tired. If they particularly liked the scenery of the town, they would stay an extra night.

The South of France in this season is undoubtedly breathtakingly beautiful. The warm wind brushes against your face as the scenery changes, and after swallowing a sip of refreshing lemon sparkling water, they drive their car into the golden light of the setting sun.

All those worries and anxieties seemed to have vanished with the wind.

In the past, when Su Er saw beautiful scenery, she always couldn't wait to share it with Jiang Siyan. But during those days, perhaps even Su Er herself didn't realize that she rarely thought of him anymore.

Su Er and Shu Sui would often find a small bar or have a drink on the hotel balcony after a day of driving. They would chat a lot and their relationship would become closer.

Shu Sui offered advice to Su Er without reservation, sharing her own experience to address her confusion, bewilderment, and worries. She would tell Su Er, "The lives depicted in plays are meant to be experienced; they are just experiences."

He would also put his arm around her shoulder and walk on the beach, casually mentioning the time when she was most heavily criticized and the terrifying experiences she had gone through.

The words, when stacked together, were clearly so thrilling and terrifying, but when Shu Sui spoke them, it was as if it were none of her business, and she spoke with extraordinary nonchalance.

Shu Sui was both a teacher and a friend to her.

What Su Er perceived from her was not only her acting experience, but more importantly, her courage to never be afraid to start over.

That night in Nice, they found a small pub in the old town.

As the journey neared its end, the production crew joined the party. The group, who had spent almost half a month together, brought the atmosphere of the bar to a whole new climax with the live music.

The singers on stage clearly only noticed the beautiful Eastern faces under the dim lights and came down from the stage to invite them.

Shu Sui is notoriously tone-deaf. Su Er, who was a little tipsy, was pulled up on stage. Amid cheers and applause, she stopped being coy, took the microphone, chatted briefly with the musicians, and finally chose the song "Summer is for falling in love".

The camera was pointed at her. Su Er sat in a chair, the slight intoxication making her feel very relaxed.
