Chapter 31 Our Er'er is too beautiful

Their chat history is still stuck in the previous way of addressing each other as "you".

Su Er had casually agreed to text him when she got home last night, but in the midst of her panic, she had completely forgotten about it.

By the time I remembered, it was already early morning. Having missed that time, there seemed to be no need to send it again.

Jiang Siyan didn't actually wait for her, but having witnessed her ability to change her expression so many times before, it was hard not to be curious about her reaction today.

The moment I saw the dialog box on the screen displaying "typing," I immediately dialed the number.

The phone in her palm kept vibrating. She had already accepted the kiss; it was just a phone call. Su Er felt she didn't need to be so dramatic.

She lightly tapped the screen with her fingertip and said in a cheerful tone, "Hello."

"woke up?"

Su Er: "Um, is there something you need?"

Unspokenly, starting from some point last night, she stopped calling him Mr. Jiang.

Upon hearing her address, Jiang Siyan quipped, "Isn't this because you're afraid someone will turn their back on you once they sober up?"

This makes her sound like a heartless woman who moves among the green leaves without getting attached to them.

Su Er pouted, "Is that how you see me, Mr. Jiang?"

She emphasized the last three words, like a wildcat whose fur had been provoked.

Jiang Siyan is really good at coaxing people. "What can I do? Our Er'er is too beautiful. No wonder I'm so anxious."

Su Er had heard such sweet words before, but it seemed that no one spoke as sincerely as he did, making people willingly give up.

He asked, "Want to have dinner together tonight?"

Su Er leaned against the windowsill and lay back down on the bed. She felt a little dizzy from standing up so quickly, but her mind was still clear. She asked, "Aren't you busy tonight?"

Su Erke never presumptuously believed that Jiang Siyan came to Nancheng just to see her.

They're way past the age of believing in fairy tales.

The girl's unique clarity and self-control have never changed, and sometimes Jiang Siyan can't help but feel sorry for her and sigh.

He tapped his knuckles lightly on the table and asked with interest, "Couldn't I have come here specifically for you?"

Su Er rolled over, seemingly genuinely curious about the question, and followed up on his words, "Oh? So you are?"

The answer is obvious, but there's really no need to disrupt the harmonious atmosphere at this moment.

Su Er stopped there, softening her tone to change the subject: "I can't have dinner with you today. I have things to do during the day, and my parents will be home tonight."

It wasn't that she was deliberately making excuses.

The role she auditioned for was a type she had never tried before. It wasn't exactly a righteous character, which could easily alienate the audience, but if played well, it could be a very moving role.

In addition, it was a Qing Dynasty drama. She didn't watch many of these kinds of shows when she was in school. There are differences in the acting style and tone of voice between period dramas and modern dramas.

Lin Shuqin found a few movies for her as part of her recent study assignments.

In addition, the audition time was brought forward, and she has been catching up on those highly rated Qing Dynasty dramas these past two days.

She explained it so clearly that there was no room for anyone to even sigh with regret.

After listening, Jiang Siyan commented, "Good girl, very well-behaved."

He added in a nonchalant tone, "Then you're busy."

Look at that, the arrogance and disdain that's ingrained in them can't be hidden anymore.

Su Er pretended not to notice, smiled, and deliberately dragged out the last syllable, "But... around nine o'clock, before going to bed, I should go for a walk."

The deliberately teasing tone was obvious, yet the manner of speaking sounded like a coquettish plea, leaving Jiang Siyan unable to vent his anger.

Jiang Siyan gave an ambiguous laugh, "You picked me, Er'er."

Before Su Er could answer, he heard someone knocking on the door.

Seeing that he was on the phone, the secretary lowered her voice and said, "Sir, Mr. Huang and the others are waiting for you."

Jiang Siyan gently covered the microphone. "I'll be right there."

Su Er waited quietly for him to finish speaking with his secretary, then considerately said, "Go ahead and get busy, I'll get things sorted out first."

After saying that, without waiting for Jiang Siyan to say goodbye, she hung up the phone and turned back to her work of organizing things.

She looked at the suit jacket on the bed, thought for a moment, and then hung it in the closet.

It was almost noon when He Yi brought her lunch from the school cafeteria. Su Er ate a few bites and then went back to watch her show and take notes.

After watching dramas all afternoon, her eyes were blurry. It wasn't until dinner time that Su Er splashed water on her face before sitting down at the table.

She ate more than usual for dinner, so when Su Boyuan was helping to serve her the dishes, he specifically reminded her that no matter how delicious the food was, she should eat less at night, as eating too much could easily cause indigestion.

Su Er was given a long lecture on medical theory and promised to understand it a thousand times before she was allowed to go back to her room.

She took a shower early, and came out at exactly 8:50 after finishing her skincare routine.

He Yi and Su Boyuan were still reading in the study.

Su Er thought for a moment, then took the suit jacket off the hanger and draped it over her shoulders.

Her frame can support the look, and the oversized style looks good on her, but it doesn't look out of place.

Su Er knocked on the study door. "Mom, I'm going downstairs to digest. I ate too much tonight."

He Yi nodded slightly, "There are some digestive tablets in the cabinet, you..."

He Yi's gaze fell on her, and he paused slightly. "Your coat..."

Su Er's brow twitched, her heart leaping with her tone, but she remained outwardly calm and asked, "What's wrong?"

He Yi frowned, not quite approving of her style of dress. "The quality is quite good, but it's a bit too big."

Su Er explained naturally, "This was borrowed by the brand, Mom. I'll go down now."

"It's getting late, remember to be back before 9:30."

"knew."

Stepping out of the building, Su Er breathed a sigh of relief. She glanced at the time: 9:05. No rush.

She strolled slowly to the fork in the road from the previous night, stood on tiptoe and scanned the area, but did not see the car she expected.

An electric scooter drove by, its faint beam of light sweeping across her face, casting a shadow of darkness over Su Er's eyes, making her look inexplicably desolate.

She glanced at her phone and felt a pang of regret.

Does she think everyone who says something has to come? It was just some ambiguous banter, but she was angry at herself for actually taking it to heart.

The more she thought about it, the more an inexplicable anger rose in her heart, to the point that she couldn't even stand the pebbles at her feet.

She kicked a pebble into the bushes, her tone unfriendly, "If you're blocking the way, what if someone trips over it!"

A soft laugh suddenly came from behind, startling Su Er so much that she almost screamed.

Jiang Siyan put his arm around her slightly trembling shoulder, the warm breath mixed with the smell of tobacco brushing against her earlobe, and asked, "What did this stone do to offend you, that it has to suffer this?"
