Chapter 60: Didn't you say you missed me?

Before the plane took off, Su Er edited a text message for Jiang Siyan.

【I'll be starting closed training right after I get off the plane, so you don't need to arrange for someone to pick me up.】

Jiang Siyan is usually quite busy during the day, and he usually doesn't reply to messages sent to him until the evening. Su Er was worried that he wouldn't see the messages, so she specially sent a message to Secretary He.

He Wen replied quickly, with a simple sentence: "Okay, Miss Su."

After receiving the reply, Su Er turned off her phone and slept soundly during the two-hour flight. As soon as she got off the plane, she was greeted with an iced Americano.

Su Er took a big gulp, and her muddled thoughts gradually cleared.

The film crew required them to meet at 1 p.m., which was already a bit rushed for them.

Su Er was afraid she wouldn't feel well later, so she didn't dare to sleep in the car anymore. She held an ice pack to her face in one hand and scrolled through her phone with the other to stay awake.

A short while later, Jiang Siyan's message arrived belatedly: "Okay."

He didn't even type a single punctuation mark; he probably sent it to her in his spare time. I wonder if he's eaten yet.

Thinking of this, Su Er cursed herself inwardly, wondering why she was so pathetic and kept thinking about him.

Su Er forced herself to erase the name Jiang Siyan from her mind.

She didn't send any more messages to Jiang Siyan. She switched to her music app, pressed play, but the music didn't play as expected in her headphones.

Lin Shuqin took off her headphones and asked helplessly, "Xiao Er, how many times have you listened to this song these past two days? Don't you get tired of it?"

The car stereo played a song she had listened to on repeat countless times over the past few days.

These past two days, whether I'm putting on makeup or eating, whenever I play music on my phone, it's always this song.

At first, Lin Shuqin was curious as to why she had suddenly become obsessed with Jacky Cheung. She didn't listen to any other songs, but only focused on this one, to the point that Lin Shuqin's ears were almost calloused.

Su Er silently switched to Bluetooth and muttered to herself, "It sounds nice."

After rushing all the way, Su Er and her group finally arrived at the venue before the agreed time.

However, it was quite late when she arrived, and Su Er glanced around and found that there was only one seat left in the corner.

When her gaze fell upon the figure beside that seat, she couldn't help but feel a little surprised. The momentary pause passed quickly, and Su Er smiled amicably at the person she met, then picked up her bag and sat down in the empty seat.

A faint sneer came from beside her. Li Ling glanced at her disdainfully, "Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. What? You're the only one who can audition for a role, but I can't?"

Su Er didn't know how Li Ling could have imagined so much from her one or two-second pause, but she still replied good-naturedly, "No, I thought you acted quite well during the last audition."

She met her gaze openly and offered sincere praise.

A sharp and vicious punch was thrown out, but what was pushed back was a gentle and soft-spoken remark.

Looking into Su Er's sincere and clear eyes, Li Ling felt somewhat uncomfortable. Her arrogance weakened a bit, and she snorted resentfully through her nose before turning her head away.

The noise in the conference room didn't last long. The person in charge and director of the training camp appeared on time and briefly explained the purpose and main content of the training camp.

At the end, Director Duan emphasized, "I hope that all the actors can devote themselves wholeheartedly to this project during this period, put aside all other unrelated matters for the time being, and work together to perform this work well."

After a round of applause, the crew's first meeting came to an end.

Without much rest, the actors quickly checked into the hotel that had been arranged for them.

At the same time, each actor received a schedule that included all their time arrangements for the next two weeks.

From script readings to etiquette and equestrian training, the schedule is fuller than a university course, from morning till night.

After quickly packing her luggage, an hour later, Su Er changed into her simplest and lightest sportswear and arrived at the training hall to officially begin her etiquette course.

She plays a princess, and has to portray her innate nobility and arrogance. Etiquette is of paramount importance, from how to sit and stand to how to kneel and worship during various sacrifices. Every requirement is almost strict.

What the director wanted was not short-term achievements, but to let these things naturally blend into her daily life, so that every gesture and movement was that of a true princess of that era.

Only in this way can she better and more focusedly immerse herself in the role when filming, without being distracted by correcting these basic skills.

All afternoon, Su Er wore platform shoes and kept standing, sitting, and kneeling. Even though she usually exercises, by evening her back was so sore that she could hardly bear it.

As dusk settled outside, the etiquette teacher took a sip of tea and patted her shoulder gently, "Alright, Xiao Er, go eat."

Su Er thanked him, sat in the chair for a while to recover, and then changed into sneakers and stood up while holding onto the table.

As she pushed open the door, she felt a slight resistance. Su Er recognized the person and greeted her with a raised eyebrow, "President Mo."

Mo Qingshu smiled and said, "Xiao Er, just call me Qingshu."

Su Er winked playfully, "It's a work setting."

Mo Qingshu was charmed by her smile and asked gently, "Have you finished training?"

Su Er nodded, pointing in the direction of the cafeteria with her finger holding the phone. "Yeah, I was just about to go eat."

"That will take up a little of your time. Please come with me for a moment." The short, sharp sound of high heels on the ground made one tense.

Su Er followed her, thinking it was a work-related matter, and asked with some concern, "Is there a problem, Sister Qingshu?"
