Chapter 125 I Miss You So Much

The familiar voice and tone were almost identical to those in her dream. Her fear subsided, but Su Er was momentarily unsure whether this was reality or a dream.

Aside from that phone call that day, they... hadn't seen each other for a long time.

Jiang Siyan is not the type of person who would go back to rekindle old flames.

Once you open the door, you'll know whether it's a dream or reality; body temperature doesn't lie.

Su Er remained silent, and silence seemed to fall outside the door as well.

She silently rolled off the bed, slowly stood up, walked step by step to the door, unlocked the door, and pressed the button.

The door was only slightly ajar, and the light and shadow were blocked by the tall figure.

Because of the neck brace, her neck's range of motion was limited, and the first thing she saw when she opened the door was a pair of deep, dark eyes.

Jiang Siyan's brows furrowed almost instantly, his heart ached slightly, and his mind was filled with thoughts of how this girl could have gotten herself into this state.

Su Er's eyes gradually reddened, and the two of them stood facing each other, neither of them speaking first.

A few seconds later, Jiang Siyan was the first to admit defeat. In fact, from the moment he learned that she was injured, all the anger and resentment he felt when they broke up disappeared.

He never seemed to have the upper hand when it came to her.

Jiang Siyan looked at her feet on the wooden floor and sighed, "You're not wearing slippers again."

If this is a dream, Su Erduo hopes this moment can last longer, at least in a dream, she doesn't need to worry about so much.

If not...

Su Er's throat tightened, and she asked him, "What are you doing here?"

"I came to see you." Jiang Siyan took a step closer to her. "Won't you even let me in?"

This time she was certain it wasn't a dream.

The breath sprayed on her head was warm, and the familiar, light fragrance was a scent she had searched through countless perfume shops for but had never found.

Su Er shifted her gaze elsewhere, suppressing the tremor in her voice, and said, "We broke up, Jiang Siyan. It's been almost half a year."

"I know, Er'er, there's no need to remind me so quickly." Jiang Siyan felt a chill run down his spine from her icy tone, but he still patiently coaxed her, "Put your shoes on first, okay?"

Hearing that soothing tone that she hadn't heard in a long time made Su Er's eyes well up with tears, and that urge to cry returned once again.

Out of the corner of my eye, I glanced at his shoulder; his dark coat was covered in snow that hadn't yet evaporated, as were his hair.

The snow outside hadn't stopped, so why didn't He Wen remind him to bring an umbrella?

Su Er's fingertips, gripping the doorknob, turned slightly white. After a moment's hesitation, she finally stepped aside to let Jiang Siyan into the house.

She still felt soft-hearted towards him.

This was Jiang Siyan's first time visiting her place. He glanced around briefly and found her slippers next to the sofa.

Su Er went into the dressing room without a word, took out a towel, and bumped into him.

The two exchanged a glance, then looked away. Su Er coldly handed him the towel, saying, "Dry yourself off."

Jiang Siyan didn't take it, but bent down and patted the back of her foot, "Lift your foot."

Su Er's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she instinctively shrank back, but in that instant she lifted her foot, she gave someone an opportunity to take advantage of her.

A cool hand touched her ankle, and she heard Jiang Siyan ask, "Have you eaten yet?"

Their familiar tone made it seem as if they had never been apart.

As her feet sank into the soft fabric, Su Er's heart remained uneasy. She shoved the towel into his arms, took a few steps back, and distanced herself from him. "Jiang Siyan, I've already put my shoes on. Just wipe them off... and then we can go back."

This is a clear invitation to leave.

This was the first time he had ever been forced to leave like this.

She could hear the sound of a towel rubbing her hair. As time ticked by, Su Er's already restless heart became increasingly agitated.

Why isn't it ready yet?

Just as she was thinking this, the sound suddenly stopped. Su Er looked up at him and her breath caught in her throat.

He was too close.

If we retreated further at this point, it would seem as if we had lost our confidence and were afraid of him.

Because of the neck brace, she couldn't even turn her face away. Her nose almost touched his chest. She swallowed and asked dryly, "What... are you doing?"

Jiang Siyan looked down at her sparkling eyes, suppressing the urge to hug her, and took a step further, "I just got back from Jiangcheng, have a meal with me, okay?"

As for Su Er's principles, they were probably already broken the moment he was allowed to enter.

Her excuse was insufficient to refuse: "There's nothing good to eat at home."

He wasn't picky at this point, saying, "Anything hot is fine."

Su Er sat at the table, watching the figures busy heating up dishes in the kitchen, unable to understand how things had developed to this point.

The dishes were heated up and served. Jiang Siyan sat down beside her. Su Er held her chopsticks, and as the steaming food rose into the air, she suddenly felt that everything in front of her was more like a dream.

The clinking of bowls and chopsticks produced a crisp sound, but otherwise, the room was completely silent.

Su Er thought that the meal might end in silence, and then he would leave, and they would return to their own paths, as before, never to have anything to do with each other again.

"Are you restricting your diet again for the sake of the role? You've gotten so thin." Jiang Siyan suddenly spoke up, glancing at her sideways.

She had been eating for a while, but the rice in her bowl hadn't been touched much.

It was just an ordinary question, but Su Er's tears fell uncontrollably, disappearing into the bowl without a trace.
