Chapter 134 I Don't Have That Intention

Su Er deliberately moved very quietly when opening the door, which had a hint of self-deception.

With a "beep," the door opened, and Su Er poked her head into the room, faintly hearing a familiar voice speaking.

Jiang Siyan was probably on the phone. She gently closed the door and followed the sound.

Jiang Siyan raised his voice unfriendly, "Don't you get tired of talking about marriage all the time? I have no interest in it."

Su Er stopped in her tracks, her eagerness suddenly dampened as if doused with cold water. She leaned against the wall, silently waiting for the call to end.

The person on the other end of the phone said something, and Jiang Siyan clicked his tongue impatiently, "I've thought this through, so please mind your own business."

What were the considerations? His marriage?

The phone call ended, and Su Er's courage vanished completely in those few short words.

She composed herself, silently walked back to the door, and reopened it, saying, "I'm back."

Jiang Siyan came out of the house, showing no trace of the impatience he had displayed on the phone earlier. He was as gentle as ever towards her, saying, "You came back quite quickly."

Su Er bent down to change her shoes. "Yeah, I ran back."

"Are you in such a hurry because you miss me or because you want to eat?" He walked closer and pulled her into his arms, teasing her with jokes.

Su Er stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the cheek, then escaped from his embrace. While washing her hands, she replied, "I want it all, I'm so hungry, where's the red bean paste?"

Su Er's eager, gluttonous look amused Jiang Siyan, "I've put it in the rice cooker to keep it warm for you."

When she came out after washing her hands, a steaming bowl of red bean paste was already laid out on the table.

Su Er didn't understand what the real him was. Was it the cold and indifferent person who was on the phone just now, or was it the person who was now extremely tender and affectionate?

Jiang Siyan sat opposite her, watching her eat with her cheeks puffed out. "Eat slowly, are you really hungry?"

She wasn't so bad at being hungry, but it felt like a huge hole had been torn open in her heart. She desperately wanted to fill it, but the more she ate, the more counterproductive it became. Her stomach was full, but her heart still felt empty.

Su Er put down her bowl, looked up at him, and said, "Jiang Siyan."

Jiang Siyan took out a tissue and wiped her mouth. "What's wrong?"

He had no intention of getting married, let alone having a future with her.

So what is the purpose of this tenderness? Is it just for momentary pleasure?

The question that had been lingering in my heart, "Do you want to marry me?", seemed to have missed its best opportunity to be uttered.

Su Er licked her lips and said, "It's nothing."

Jiang Siyan frowned, pulled her into his arms, and pinched her cheeks to prevent her from escaping. "Hidden from me again?"

Su Er pushed him away, "No, I just called your name."

Jiang Siyan especially disliked her hesitant manner. He placed his hand on her slender waist, where she was most ticklish, narrowed his eyes, and said threateningly, "Will you talk or not?"

Su Er was ticklish and twisted her body to try to hide.

In the past, Jiang Siyan would only scare her, but today he seemed determined to get to the bottom of things.

Unable to escape, Su Er could only wrap her arms around his neck and beg for mercy, "Okay, okay, I'll tell you."

Jiang Siyan then tightened his grip on her waist and stopped causing trouble.

What could she say? Her mind was in a mess, and she couldn't even come up with a coherent lie.

"We still have some time tonight." Su Er tugged at his collar, sat up slightly, and breathed warmly on his ear. "Do you want to... kiss me?"

The restlessness and anxiety rising in her heart was almost driving her crazy; she desperately needed something to distract her.

This is not only a good excuse, but also a good way to distract yourself.

Su Er thought to herself that at least she could get through the night peacefully before thinking about the future.

Jiang Siyan gently touched her reddened earlobe and asked with a tender smile, "Aren't you tired after traveling all this way?"

Su Er shook her head, then kissed his neck eagerly, her face full of girlish charm, "I missed you."

"You're not allowed to complain about being tired for a while."

Su Er laughed and said, "That won't do, those are two different things."

Jiang Siyan knew she had to get up early the next morning, so he didn't bother her too much. After they finished washing up, the two lay in bed.

Su Er cleared her mind, hugged his waist, and asked, "How long can you stay?"

Jiang Siyan closed his eyes and gently patted her back, saying, "We have to leave tomorrow morning."

"So rushed?" Su Er leaned against his chest, half-supported. "Then you don't need to rush back and forth like this in the future. It's okay if I don't eat this meal."

"Silly girl, bringing you food is secondary, wanting to see you is what really matters." Jiang Siyan turned and hugged her, his breath brushing against her head, carrying a faint fragrance. He exhaled a long breath, "I'll hold you, go to sleep."

Before, when Su Er couldn't sleep, she always liked to snuggle in his arms like this, which made her feel safe and helped her fall asleep easily.

The warm embrace robbed her of her ability to think, and Su Er willingly wallowed in his embrace, wanting nothing more than to drown her sorrows.

When they woke up, it seemed that nothing had changed; they were still together.

Before dawn, Su Er's alarm clock went off. She quickly turned off the incessantly vibrating alarm, afraid of waking the person next to her.

She lowered her eyes to look at his handsome face, as if she couldn't get enough of looking at him.

Su Er couldn't help but lean down to kiss his cheek, but just as she was about to get up, she was pulled back by the wrist.

Su Er reached out to touch his stubble and said apologetically, "Did I wake you up?"

"What time is it?" Jiang Siyan's voice was hoarse from just waking up. He took her hand and subconsciously kissed it.

"It's only five o'clock, why don't you sleep a little longer? I'll wake you up before I leave, okay?"

The little girl is now considerate and caring, speaking in a gentle tone as if she were coaxing a child. Jiang Siyan was very pleased with this and played with her for a few more minutes before letting go of her hand.

However, he didn't lie down any longer. Su Er was only halfway through her makeup when Jiang Siyan was already dressed.

"Are you leaving?" Su Er asked.

The makeup artist stopped what she was doing and said she was going out to get something.

Jiang Siyan walked behind her, bent down and kissed her cheek. "Yes, He Wen is waiting."

Su Er picked up the bag prepared on the table and handed it to him, instructing him, "There are a few pieces of bread inside. Have some if you get hungry. Be careful on the road, and send me a message when you land."

She's considering things more comprehensively than he has now, Jiang Siyan chuckled, "Okay."

"Then I won't see you off to your car." Su Er hooked her finger around his, a little reluctant.

Jiang Siyan gently rubbed her wrist reassuringly, "You go ahead with your work."

For a fleeting moment, Su Er thought foolishly that things were actually quite nice as they were.

Live for today, for tomorrow we may die; why dwell too much on the outcome?
