Chapter 7 Is this wine good?

The little girl may not yet understand that people have inherent flaws.

Her aloofness was quite endearing at such a gathering.

However, in the short time they were away from their seats, the alcohol had already brought out the worst in many of them.

"Xiao Su," Tang Yonghao called to her, and casually put his arm around her shoulder.

Su Er almost instinctively wanted to struggle, but her back stiffened for a moment, and in the end, only a thin layer of sweat seeped out on her back.

She told herself that she just needed to do a good job in this role.

She was about to offer a forced laugh when a question rang in her ears, shattering the courage she had so painstakingly mustered.

A slightly hoarse voice asked, "Is this wine good?"

The private room fell silent instantly. All thoughts of pleasure seemed to vanish, leaving only the cautious probing of those around: "Mr. Jiang, do you not like this wine? I'll have someone bring another one."

Whom is he asking?

Su Er initially kept her head down. When did she realize something was wrong?

Perhaps because the pressure on her shoulders suddenly eased, Su Er looked up somewhat slowly, and the gazes that converged on her made her the star of the gathering.

Su Er's neck was a little stiff from maintaining the same posture for a long time, so she slowly turned her head to look at the culprit.

Jiang Siyan tapped the glass lightly with the back of his hand, a slight smile curving his lips, truly appearing to be humbly seeking advice.

It was only at this moment that Su Er realized he was asking her.

A fine Romanée-Conti, especially a rare vintage, can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars per bottle. It's simply not appropriate to describe it as "not good."

Afterwards, Su Er did ask herself: she wasn't exactly an ignorant person, so how could she be so naive as to think that a simple inquiry could give her the confidence to do whatever she wanted?

After much thought, she concluded that the lights that night were too dazzling, causing her to have a strange feeling every time she looked at Jiang Siyan.

There's a sense that Jiang Siyan is saying, "Just tell me, I'll always cover for you."

Su Er swirled her wine glass, suppressing the turmoil in her heart. She parted her lips, met his gaze, shook her head, and said, "It doesn't taste good."

Jiang Siyan laughed heartily, in a very good mood. He naturally reached out and took the glass from her hand, saying, "Since it doesn't taste good, let's take it away."

The waiter quickly cleared the table of wine, and amidst the clinking of porcelain bowls, he spoke again: "Have the kitchen make some porridge for... Miss Su, to warm her stomach."

Su Er's eyelashes trembled slightly, and her pulse seemed to beat stronger than usual.

Her tone remained calm and composed; she simply said, "Thank you, Mr. Jiang."
