Dark clouds were looming, and a heavy, dead air hung in the low sky. This once prosperous metropolis was now in ruins and desolate.
Amidst the ruins, human figures can be seen everywhere, or perhaps they are not human.
The body was rotten, the eyes were lifeless, and the white teeth with exposed roots were covered with blood and flesh.
They are the wanderers of this city, they can be called the living dead, or more precisely, zombies.
Half a year ago, a mysterious zombie virus swept the world, and China was not spared.
Soon, all sixteen southern provinces fell.
The only people still active in these areas, besides zombies, are the survivors collecting supplies.
A gunshot broke the silence.
Blood, the taste of blood.
All the zombies wandering aimlessly rushed towards the source of the gunshots as if they had received an order.
City Center Shopping Center.
Wave after wave of zombies poured into the mall and surrounded the base army that came here to collect supplies.
After half a day of hard fighting, only the last two people were left in a team of dozens of people.
A sharp claw attacked from behind. The woman in military uniform pushed her companion hard and used the force to dodge.
"You can't do this, ah—"
The heart-wrenching cries were drowned out by the horde of corpses.
The woman pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the zombies that were chasing her.
"Bang."
Gunshots rang out and blood splattered everywhere.
The woman put away her gun, her face filled with numbness.
No regrets, no fear.
Betrayal and death are not surprising. In the end times, everything is possible.
She twirled the pistol, smashed the glass window with the butt, and leaped out of the encirclement.
Just when she thought she was saved, a thousand-foot-high ice wall suddenly rose up around her, and a cage made of water blocked all ways of survival.
The crystal clear ice surface reflected everything. The woman concentrated and held her breath, and a tall figure appeared in her sight.
The man had a hidden smile on his face, and there was a seductive aura in the corners of his eyebrows and eyes. His spotless white shirt was particularly eye-catching.
The woman forced a smile and said, "Glad to see you're still alive."
Gray eyes glanced over the military rank on her shoulder.
Retracting his gaze, the visitor said, "What a coincidence, me too."
The woman stared at him warily, clenching the gun in her hand.
"I pushed you into the pile of zombies. You came here for revenge, right?" the woman said. "You know, I had no choice at the time. You're not dead anyway, so why bother pursuing this?"
The man curled his lips and clenched his right hand in the air.
The water rolled up in streams, like a giant hand, suddenly strangling the woman's throat.
He asked, "Do you know how the others died?"
The woman struggled hard, trying to break free from his grip.
But she was horrified to find that she, a high-level power mutant, was as fragile as a child in his hands.
The man's smile grew wider, and his five fingers suddenly tightened. The woman rolled her eyes and her throat broke.
He wiped his hands slowly - as if they were covered with something filthy - and his eyes fell on the woman's body with disdain.
He said, “Now you know.”
The ice cage collapsed.
"So annoying."
An angry female voice came from above.
The man's eyes darkened and he asked coldly, "Who is it?"
The beautiful woman with bright eyes and white teeth jumped down from the tree, raised her phoenix eyes and looked at him, with a hint of bad temper in her laziness.
"Do you know how annoying you are?" she said. "You disturbed my sleep."
The visitor looked at her with interest for a moment, and their eyes met, and one gray-white colliding with another deep and bottomless black.
After a long pause, he said, "Are you the madman who slaughtered a thousand corpses day and night, Bu Tiange?"
