Chapter 76 The Delinquent School Beauty Transfer Student 17 Meat Porridge
Yun Chiyi and Lin Hengzhi made up, though she couldn't explain why. In any case, when they met again the next morning, everything was back to normal.
She quit the cheerleading squad, but Lin Hengzhi continued with the amateur basketball team, and a few days later, he was elected captain.
Yun Chiyi stopped attending evening tutoring classes these past few days, and Meng Yuan also had her allowance lifted. With money and time, she spent all her time with Wang Jiajia and Xin Xiaoya, living a very comfortable life and even gaining two pounds.
Over the weekend, Meng Yuan and Yun Hengshan went out to a wedding banquet. Yun Chiyi didn't like being bombarded with questions from a bunch of relatives, so she pretended to be sick in the morning and refused to go.
Her clumsy acting skills naturally didn't fool Meng Yuan, who simply turned a blind eye and didn't expose her. Yun Hengshan, on the other hand, was a little anxious and worried about her being home alone. Before leaving, he repeatedly reminded her to take her medicine on time.
Upon hearing the sound of the door lock, Yun Chiyi peacefully closed her eyes, her breathing becoming increasingly tender, recklessly enjoying this precious Saturday.
However, she had only enjoyed it for an hour and a half when someone knocked on the door.
This is probably the time for milk delivery.
But people usually don't knock on the door.
Yun Chiyi sat up groggily in bed, slowly put on her soft pajamas, mechanically slipped on her slippers, and floated across the living room. Opening the door, she greeted everyone listlessly, "Who are you looking for…?"
Her sense of smell was the first to react; the scent of cedar brought her to her senses. She pursed her soft lips, lazily lifting her eyelids to see Lin Hengzhi's distant eyes.
Lin Hengzhi appeared before us dressed in a gray tracksuit and carrying a beige canvas bag, looking clean and neat.
"Uncle Yun told me you were sick, and he said I could come and see you if I'm free."
"Uncle Yun said you didn't have the strength to speak, but you seem to be feeling a bit better now?"
Upon hearing this, Yun Chiyi's straight back instantly went limp. She leaned weakly against the door frame and spoke in a barely audible voice: "Well... it's not flu season yet. I played billiards with Wang Jiajia yesterday and got a fever this morning. But I just took a nap and it's not hot anymore."
"I cooked a bowl of porridge," Lin Hengzhi said as he entered the room and took out slippers from the shoe cabinet to change into.
Yun Chiyi raised an eyebrow: "How could I possibly accept this?"
She closed the door, turned and walked into the restaurant, pulled out a stool and sat down, staring intently at Lin Hengzhi as he opened the canvas bag, took out the insulated box inside, and as soon as he opened it, the aroma of meat and rice instantly filled the air.
Lin Hengzhi washed his hands and took a bowl to serve the porridge.
Yun Chiyi raised her hand to interrupt him: "This is too bland. Could you please cook two dishes for me? There are carrots, cabbage, eggplant, eggs, pork tenderloin, and sausage in the refrigerator. No, you should remove the carrots. Who is eating this awful food?"
After a pause of one second, Lin Hengzhi looked over coldly as if he had just realized something. Yun Chiyi shrank her shoulders, initially not daring to look at him, but then asked with a smile, "Is it too much for the patient to want to eat something good?"
Lin Hengzhi lifted the bowl with his long fingers, poured the porridge back into the thermos, and expressionlessly turned the back of his hand over to press it against Yun Chiyi's forehead.
The temperature couldn't be more normal.
Yun Chiyi blinked, and seeing that she was about to give herself away, she grabbed Lin Hengzhi's hand with a whimper, put half of her face in his palm, and said intermittently, "I don't have a fever anymore, but my head hurts so much."
"Oh dear, class monitor, am I going to be unable to attend class on Monday?"
"It really hurts, can you feel it?"
Lin Hengzhi tried to pull his hand back, but Yun Chiyi grabbed his fingers with her other hand, her soft cheeks rubbing against his palm. His expression changed slightly, and he said in a sharp voice, "Yun Chiyi, let go."
Before she could finish speaking, Yun Chiyi released her hands and said with a smile, "I want braised eggplant and scrambled eggs with tomatoes. Thank you, kind and handsome class monitor. Please call me when you're done cooking."
She wasn't in a hurry to eat, so she poured herself a glass of water and went to wait on the sofa in the living room.
Lin Hengzhi raised his hand, then looked at Yun Chiyi, who was sitting barefoot on the sofa watching TV. He gently clenched his well-defined fingers, then released them. He hooked his ring finger onto the apron hanging on the wall, tied it halfway, and opened the refrigerator to find ingredients.
Meanwhile, Yun Chiyi was already happily watching an idol drama. On the screen, the male and female leads were kissing passionately. She sat cross-legged, her arms resting on her legs, her thick, long hair cascading to one side, and a faint smile on the half of her face.
After a long while, Lin Hengzhi came out of the kitchen carrying dishes. He saw that they were kissing again in the TV series. He looked at Yun Chiyi, who was yawning, and said, "Won't watching too much of this ruin your brain?"
Yun Chiyi turned around with teary eyes: "You should play this sharp-tongued male lead."
Lin Hengzhi didn't respond, but instead told her to wash her hands and eat.
Yun Chiyi jumped off the sofa, put her hands behind her back, sniffed the air as if to show off, and nodded with a mature expression: "Not bad."
Lin Hengzhi reminded her again: "Wash your hands and eat."
Yun Chiyi gritted her teeth: "I know, I know, you're just like my mom now."
When she returned, there was a bowl of porridge on the table.
"Aren't you going to eat together?"
Lin Hengzhi wanted to say that he had eaten breakfast late and wasn't too hungry, but Yun Chiyi, who claimed to be sick, skipped over to get a bowl and imitated his actions to scoop out a large bowl of porridge.
Yun Chiyi patted the table, gesturing for Lin Hengzhi to sit down.
He calmly picked up his chopsticks and began serving food to Yun Chiyi: "You're sick, eat more vegetables to replenish your vitamins."
"Don't you know whether I'm sick or not?" Yun Chiyi bent one foot and put it on the stool, sitting in a very unsightly manner, her body language arrogantly indicating that she was coming clean and was no longer acting.
Lin Hengzhi glanced at it, but refrained from saying anything.
After taking a spoonful of meat porridge, Yun Chiyi's eyes instantly lit up. The rice was cooked until very sticky, the porridge was thick, and the meat was chewy. One bite filled her mouth with the aroma of meat.
She gave a heartfelt thumbs up: "Delicious, I'd give you a perfect score, out of ten!"
"Can you make longevity noodles? Is it difficult?"
Lin Hengzhi ignored him, silently drinking his porridge, exuding a refined and scholarly air.
The braised eggplant is also particularly delicious, flavorful yet not greasy. Scrambled eggs with tomatoes is Lin Hengzhi's specialty, so there's no need to say more.
Yun Chiyi ate two bowls of porridge and finished all the dishes during the meal. She patted her stomach contentedly, and to avoid washing the dishes, she leaned back against the wall and started talking nonsense.
"I don't know what my parents are eating over there. I heard they have big fish, lobsters, Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, and braised pork knuckle, but none of those taste as good as our braised eggplant and tomato and egg dish."
"Hey deskmate, what are you going to do later? Are you busy? How about you stay and watch a couple of episodes of TV before going back?"
"The next scene is the male lead chasing the female lead in the pouring rain and then falling into the river. It's such a thrilling scene, I could watch it over and over again."
Lin Hengzhi stared calmly at her smiling face, his mind clear as day, and asked, "Which one is the dishcloth?"
Upon hearing this, Yun Chiyi pointed with her delicate hand: "It's hanging on the wall, the blue one with a little cat on it."
She stretched lazily and said, "You go ahead with your work. I feel dizzy after eating, so I'm going to sleep for an hour."
But she didn't leave. When she turned around, she saw Lin Hengzhi clutching the hem of her dress.
Lin Hengzhi said, "You came to the last stream of clear water."
Yun Chiyi smiled faintly: "Really? There are only two bowls and two plates. How can it require two people?"
Lin Hengzhi said "Oh": "So you can do it by yourself, after all, it's your family's dishes, you should wash them."
Unable to argue with him, Yun Chiyi slapped his hand away, making the back of his hand red.
Yun Chiyi had been living comfortably these past few days, and now she was also flexible and took the initiative to put on the spare apron and said, "Could the class monitor please wash the dishes with me?"
Lin Hengzhi then took action.
The kitchen faces south, and the afternoon sun shines through the gauze window. A gentle breeze caresses her cheeks and stray hairs. Yun Chiyi soaks her hands in warm water, her fair skin dazzlingly white.
She suddenly turned to look at Lin Hengzhi. He was a head taller than her, and perhaps because they were close, she thought he looked much better than usual. His eyes were clear and bright, revealing little emotion, and his skin was fair with a touch of coldness.
Are the cheeks soft?
Yun Chiyi extended a cold finger and pressed it against Lin Hengzhi's cheek, earning her a glare in return.
Having succeeded in her mischievous scheme, she leaned against the sink, laughing so hard she almost fell over. Suddenly, she noticed the blush on Lin Hengzhi's ear tips. Yun Chiyi frowned in confusion and asked bluntly, "Why are your ears red? Is it too stuffy in the room?"
Lin Hengzhi tossed the bowl into the basin in front of her and said casually, "It's hot."
"The weather is getting cooler, it won't be hot for long." Yun Chiyi didn't think much of it, otherwise what could be the reason?
After cleaning up the stove, Yun Chiyi originally wanted to send him back, but then she realized that if he left, who would cook dinner? So she decided to invite Lin Hengzhi to watch TV together, specifically the idol drama they had just watched.
Watching TV always makes time fly by. Before you know it, it's completely dark. The two of them then prepare dinner together, making simple stuffed green peppers and pumpkin sweet soup. Yun Chiyi only helps out by peeling garlic.
She has an air of utter indifference, always putting her hands on her hips and acting as if it's all perfectly natural.
Tonight, Yun Chiyi was sleeping alone at home. She woke up in the middle of the night and saw that Lin Hengzhi's light was still on.
She didn't want to get involved, but then a mischievous thought popped into her head, and she picked up the landline at home to call Lin Hengzhi.
The call connected, and she chuckled softly, "Class monitor, I don't have anything else to say, I just wanted to tell you to go to bed early. Learning is learning anytime, and knowledge doesn't disappear, right?"
Lin Hengzhi stood in the dark living room, a pen in his hand. He was working on his new book and also catching up on today's diary entry.
Strangely enough, he inexplicably started writing a diary, turning his observation notes into his diary, which has already become a thick stack. Today's entry is: "Why are my hands still warm even after being soaked in cold water?"
Yun Chiyi didn't hear his reply, so she cleared her throat and said, "Hey, are you sleepwalking? Why aren't you making any noise?"
Lin Hengzhi: "No, I'm going to sleep."
Yun Chiyi reminded him, "By the way, bring my dress tomorrow. I have something to wear this afternoon, and it will get cold in a couple of days, so I won't have a chance to show it off."
She didn't say what it was about, and Lin Hengzhi didn't ask either, only saying "okay".
