Chapter 84 The Delinquent School Beauty Transfer Student 25 Zoo
Fortunately, Lin Hengzhi gave a lecture, and Yun Chiyi fell asleep soundly halfway through.
In a daze, I woke up in the middle of the night and suddenly realized I was in bed. I didn't think much of it and slept until dawn.
Two days later, Meng Yuan forbade her to be lazy at home and drove her to and from the classroom every morning and evening.
Once again facing a group of youthful faces and a pile of books on the desk, the teacher mumbled an explanation of equations at the podium. As Yun Chiyi listened, she straightened up in her seat, then suddenly collapsed onto the desk in pain.
Good heavens, going to school is torture.
Because of her limited mobility, Lin Hengzhi took great compassion and packed two meals from the cafeteria to eat in the classroom with her at noon.
Recently, Lin Hengzhi seems to have been purified; he's become exceptionally kind-hearted and easy to talk to.
Yun Chiyi went from feeling something was wrong to gradually getting used to it, and then to skillfully ordering people around.
Early Saturday morning, Lin Hengzhi suddenly brought up the zoo appointment, pulled Yun Chiyi out of her warm bed, and then put her in a wheelchair. They took a taxi and then a bus, arriving at the ticket office before nine o'clock in the morning.
Yun Chiyi had a blanket wrapped around her legs and was wearing a soft, rainbow-colored cardigan. She looked dazed and hadn't woken up yet.
She waited for Lin Hengzhi to queue for tickets under the tree. Her slender, tall figure stood out in the crowd, like a silent, lush tree.
However, he must have been retaliating against her for bossing him around these past few days by dragging her out of bed early in the morning.
After buying his ticket, Lin Hengzhi bought two bottles of water and a bag of small cakes at the convenience store next door. He had already walked out of the store, but when he was about to go down the steps, he turned back to buy a bag of fruit gummies.
He walked slowly to his side, and Yun Chiyi yawned as she looked at him: "Give me the candy."
Originally, the candy was hers too.
Lin Hengzhi tore open the packaging, and the aroma of green apples wafted out. He glanced at the production date and handed it to Yun Chiyi. The morning breeze was cool, and she curled her fingers, pinched off a gummy candy, and popped it into her mouth. Only then did her expression soften slightly.
Many tourists travel on weekends, mostly parents with their children, and the pair inevitably attracts the attention of those around them.
Lin Hengzhi pushed the wheelchair, gave her the small cake, and looked at the tour map. He said, "Let's go see the flamingo first, then the zebras and lions, then the sika deer and snakes. There's a restaurant nearby where we can have lunch. After that, we can go see the dolphins and goldfish."
Yun Chiyi said, "Why look at the firebird? Go look at the snake."
The morning light was soft, and her hair looked as if it were coated with a layer of light gold. Yun Chiyi turned her head with a candy in her mouth, and smiled: "Is it not okay?"
Lin Hengzhi replied, "Do you still want to see the lions? This route is more convenient. If you don't want to see them, then go see the snakes."
After a long pause, Yun Chiyi remained silent, and Lin Hengzhi continued, "So now we're going to see the firebird, not the snake, right?"
Yun Chiyi nodded: "Let's go, we're blocking people's way."
The road ahead was uphill, and Lin Hengzhi pushed the wheelchair slowly. Yun Chiyi stopped being angry and decided to enjoy the sights since they were already there.
As she entered the dense forest, the clear calls of birds filled her ears. Yun Chiyi looked up at the rising sun, sniffed the fresh scent of grass and trees, and the gloom caused by her disturbed dream dissipated.
Lin Hengzhi spoke very little throughout. He occasionally lowered his eyes to look at Yun Chiyi, who was close to him, and couldn't help but think that she often walked in front of him, but this distance was rare.
Yun Chiyi was focused on the strange wading birds. In the forest ahead, there was a large white bird walking on tiptoe with a long, thin beak that looked like an ice cream spoon. She reached back and pulled the hem of Lin Hengzhi's clothes without missing a beat.
"What kind of bird is this? Read me a description."
Lin Hengzhi was caught off guard by the smooth, white fingers. He took a few steps forward and stood in front of the information board: "White Egret".
With many tourists coming and going, he approached and gave a one-minute explanation in a low voice.
After listening, Yun Chiyi said, "Well, didn't you want to see the flames? The closest way is through this fork in the road, it's only 87 meters away."
Seeing that she was no longer interested in other wading birds, Lin Hengzhi led her to walk beside him, trying to avoid crowded places.
The two went to see the flamingo and then walked to the left. According to Yun Chiyi's habit, she just went wherever she wanted. She bought tickets and came in, so she could see everything without losing out. But Lin Hengzhi was not like that. He would make a plan and then carry it out one by one.
At 11:30 a.m., they arrived at the reptile exhibit. The temperature inside was low, so Yun Chiyi pulled the blanket up to cover her knees. Her warm coat slid over her shoulders, and then Lin Hengzhi's well-defined hands adjusted the coat and wrapped it around her legs.
Yun Chiyi tilted his head to the side, his gaze moving from his eyes to the black snake coiled on the tree trunk behind him, its black scales shimmering and dazzling, as beautiful as a demon.
Her body heat enveloped her, and Yun Chiyi no longer felt cold. Lin Hengzhi pushed her along to the central exhibition stand, where she was completely captivated by the golden python hanging upside down. The snake, as thick as a wrist, flicked its tongue at her.
Lin Hengzhi leaned closer from behind, his clear voice right next to her ear as he slowly spoke, "Do you still need me to read it to you?"
She smelled his cedar scent again, blending seamlessly with the dim environment. Yun Chiyi felt a surge of heat throughout her body, and her ear tips burned.
Lin Hengzhi pressed his finger on the explanatory board and read it aloud to Yun Chiyi, word by word.
Yun Chiyi didn't listen at all. She turned her head to the side and smiled quietly. When Lin Hengzhi was halfway through reading, he inadvertently met her gaze and was disrupted by her inexplicable smile.
"What are you laughing at?"
Yun Chiyi's smile deepened: "Guess."
Lin Hengzhi pursed his lips: "How could I possibly know what you're thinking?"
Yun Chiyi shook her head and continued, "It's okay, I'll tell you this time."
Lin Hengzhi looked serious.
She frankly said, "I feel that you are quite interesting, not a boring person. I like to hang out with fun people."
Her honesty made him straighten up and relax his hands at his sides.
Yun Chiyi looked around and saw that everyone was talking in hushed tones and huddled together because of their fear of cold-blooded animals. She pulled Lin Hengzhi slightly closer to her and asked, "Where do we go next?"
Lin Hengzhi stumbled twice, then steadied himself beside her. He looked towards the brightly lit entrance and said, "Restaurant."
Prices at tourist attractions are always outrageously high, but Lin Hengzhi is rich. Especially when he took out a hundred-yuan bill from his wallet and handed it to the cashier without hesitation, Yun Chiyi felt that he was very reliable at that moment, which added a touch of handsomeness to his demeanor.
She was hogging the spot, holding onto half of the stone table with both hands, not letting the boys take their place. They had almost knocked her to the ground with their arguing earlier. She was petty, so she immediately stood up on one leg, raised her chin, and acted as if she was right because she was there first.
Her appearance startled them. At first, they thought she was in a wheelchair because of an injury and could be easily fooled, but now she looked energetic and seemed quite capable of fighting.
Lin Hengzhi was picking and choosing inside, and didn't come out for a long time. Yun Chiyi poked her head in and called out, "Hurry up, hurry up."
Lin Hengzhi heard her voice and hurriedly walked back.
He was halfway there when Yun Chiyi noticed he hadn't bought a drink and urged him to go back: "Where's my coconut juice!"
Before he could even put his things down, Lin Hengzhi left again, meaning he'd have to wait in line later.
After a race against time, Lin Hengzhi returned with the seafood set meal. Yun Chiyi immediately piled the food up, her defiant gaze seemingly declaring that this was her territory.
The boys all bought instant noodles. When they saw that there were grilled prawns, razor clams, fried yellow croakers, rice cakes, and fried chicken legs across the table, which filled half of the table, they were filled with envy.
Yun Chiyi only helped reserve a spot, then stood behind him with her arms crossed, looking longingly at Lin Hengzhi, and nodded with her chin.
Good oil, she didn't want to get it on her hands.
"Is it your hand that's injured?"
Lin Hengzhi unscrewed a bottle of mineral water, poured it out to wash his hands, put on disposable gloves, pinched off the shrimp heads, peeled off the shrimp shells, and placed the plump shrimp meat in the bowl in front of Yun Chiyi.
Yun Chiyi immediately beamed with joy: "Thank you, class monitor."
Lin Hengzhi lowered his head and peeled shrimp: "Talk less, eat more."
She picked it up with her chopsticks; the shrimp meat was springy and flavorful. Having been active all morning, she was already hungry, and the shrimp meat tasted especially delicious.
Lin Hengzhi peeled three for her, then put one into his own bowl.
The boys no longer looked at each other with envy, but rather with pity.
Lin Heng was enjoying himself immensely. After peeling the shrimp, the next thing he wanted was razor clams. He always ordered large portions of plump seafood, which meant they were all high-quality and priced differently.
The bowl was never empty; Yun Chiyi couldn't even finish eating. She was almost full when, on a whim, she picked up a piece of fried rice cake for Lin Hengzhi: "Class monitor, this rice cake is delicious!"
After the seafood was prepared, Lin Hengzhi poured water to wash his hands.
His cleanliness contrasted sharply with the sweaty, greasy boys opposite him, and Yun Chiyi instinctively leaned towards him.
After a short rest, letting the midday sun shine on her legs, Yun Chiyi dozed off in the sunlight.
Lin Hengzhi has amazing stamina. When she woke up, she saw him looking at the route map in his hand, and then he pushed her to see the dolphins.
There's a dolphin show going on, and it's so crowded that the wheelchair can't fit. Yun Chiyi tried to stand up, but Lin Hengzhi held her shoulder and pushed her away.
He slowly reassured her, "You can come again next time."
Yun Chiyi stretched and said, "I'm too tired. I won't come out next time."
Lin Hengzhi said, "I'm the one pushing you along."
Yun Chiyi retorted confidently, "Who told you to wake me up so early in the morning? I was planning to sleep until 3 PM today, which is right now!"
He didn't argue with her, his eyes fixed straight ahead: "The goldfish restaurant is up ahead."
Before coming, Lin Hengzhi thought the goldfish pavilion was nothing special. Aren't there goldfish in the fish tanks every day? He'd seen enough of them.
However, Yun Chiyi liked goldfish. She liked the way they swam in the pond with their gorgeous scales. Watching them fight for a little food gave her a sense of satisfaction in having something beautiful under her control.
She leaned closer to the fish tank to examine it closely. The goldfish, with their varied patterns yet unified design, swayed gracefully under her fingers. She smiled sweetly, and the shimmering light on her cheeks made her eyes sparkle.
Her fingers traced the path the goldfish swam, creating ripples that sent the goldfish scattering in panic. She laughed even harder, displaying the delight of a superior who had just finished teasing them.
Lin Hengzhi had his hands in his pockets, not looking at the goldfish, but at her.
He was wrong; how could a goldfish restaurant be ordinary and unremarkable?
Perhaps one day, he will forget everything, but he will definitely remember her bright eyes and white teeth as she smiled in a daze.
