Chapter 14 Negotiation
When they got home, the two of them were starving. If Liu Zheng hadn't been waiting for them, they would have eaten something on the way home.
"It's past lunchtime, and you're still making Mom and Dad wait." Gu Yan started speaking sarcastically as soon as she sat down.
"I went out to earn money, that's why I'm late. You don't need to target me like this. You're the princess of the family, you never lift a finger, but I'm different, I have to make a living!"
"Shut up, now that you're here, eat properly." Gu Feng looked at the group. "You really can't keep quiet for a moment."
Gu Yunxi shrugged, tenderly tugged at her mother's hand, and the group began their meal.
Just as everyone finished eating, Gu Feng noticed that Gu Yan was acting strangely today. Usually, she would be full after a few bites and would keep saying that she needed to control her body, but today, even when everyone else had stopped eating, she was still eating.
The way they ate today was awful. As others would say, it was like a pig eating, with food all over their mouths.
Gu Yunxi was exhausted. After talking with her mother for a while, she went straight back to her room.
Gu Yan stopped eating when she really couldn't eat anymore. The moment she looked up, she saw her father staring at her with a look of horror, and then she realized with horror that there were several empty plates next to her.
What just happened?
As soon as I started eating, my mind seemed to go blank. I was extremely hungry, and then I didn't know anything.
She let out a burp, patted her stomach, and quickly looked down. Was this really her stomach? Her loose dress was now stretched taut. Just how much had she eaten?
"Yan'er, are you feeling unwell?"
Gu Yan shook her head, then nodded. "It seems I ate a bit too much." She tried to get up, but couldn't.
"Dad, I've eaten too much, I can't get up."
Gu Feng slowly helped her up. He had never seen Gu Yan eat so much before. If it were any other time, today's meal would be enough for her for two days.
As soon as Gu Yan got into bed, drowsiness overwhelmed her. Seeing her yawning repeatedly, Gu Feng went out.
When Lao Si comes back tonight, maybe I should prescribe some digestive medicine for her!
That's an incredible amount of food!
Standing in the corridor and looking into Gu Yunxi's room, Gu Feng suddenly understood. Could it be that Yan'er had been wronged, which was why she was humiliating herself like this in order to attract the attention of the whole family?
I never expected that these people would all be so obsessed with Yunxi. It's really outrageous.
These ungrateful wretches, they were born for nothing. The phone rang, and seeing the caller ID, he answered it gently.
Then he hurriedly left the house.
The Liu family.
One phone call brought everyone to the scene, all thinking that something had happened to Liu Changgeng.
Liu Changgeng had three sons and one daughter, as well as several grandchildren, all of whom were sitting in the hall, looking at him with surprised expressions.
The eldest son, Liu Yi, spoke up: "Dad, you look so healthy. Has your health fully recovered?"
Judging from his appearance, he is in better physical condition today than ever before, and he looks much stronger!
"Yes, Dad, he called us over in a hurry. I thought it was you, I thought it was you."
The second son, Liu Wei, started to speak, but stopped halfway through. Without even guessing, you could tell what he was going to say next: something had happened!
"I have called you here today because I have something important to discuss with you."
Seeing Liu Changgeng's unusually serious expression, everyone knew that this matter was definitely not simple.
"I have stopped all my treatment at the hospital today."
"Why?"
Liu Yi hurriedly sat down beside him, looking at him with a worried expression. Although his body had recovered a little, the treatment could not be stopped.
He is the backbone of the Liu family. With him around, everyone in the family feels reassured and can do things with much more peace of mind.
"A master came to our house today. He immediately saw that Dr. Zhao's treatment plan was flawed and that he was only shortening my lifespan."
None of that matters. What's more important is that the feng shui of both our house and the ancestral graves is problematic.
"Dad, you haven't been fooled by that master, have you? How could there be a problem with the feng shui of our house? Master Lin personally surveyed it."
"Yes, Dad, over the years, our family has flourished, something many people envy. It is thanks to the blessings of our ancestors that the Liu family is what it is today!"
Liu Shigeng shook his head, took out a folded talisman from his bosom, and placed it on the table.
At a visible speed, his body, just like before, turned black.
"Dad, what's wrong?" Liu Yi didn't know what to do and wanted to call Dr. Zhao.
Liu Changgeng waved his hand, placed the talisman back on his chest, and his body regained its vitality.
"You've all noticed, haven't you? Isn't it because of this protective amulet that I feel better?"
Several people nodded, then shook their heads.
Could this be a gift from Master Lin? How could that be? He's already dead. If he had a protective talisman, why would Father only bring it out now?
"Master Gu painted this for me on the spot today, and she used special means to let me see our manor clearly. Now it looks like there's nothing there, but it looks magnificent."
But when I truly saw the house clearly, I realized that everything was shrouded in black mist, including myself, and the place where that black mist gathered was actually our family's ancestral grave.
"ah!"
Liu Sheng, the third son of the Liu family, stood up. "Dad, are you talking nonsense again? How could such a bizarre thing happen in this society? It's just a trick by a swindler. He/she is actually after our family's money."
He worked in the police station for nearly twenty years. Although there were some bizarre cases, they were all eventually found to be man-made.
He admires science the most, so how could he possibly believe in these superstitious beliefs?
After the elders spoke up, the younger generation dared not say anything more, but their expressions all became serious.
"Third brother, I know what you want to say. The end of science is metaphysics. Maybe Dad is right. Let's continue listening."
The eldest and second sons run a business, and like their father, they are particularly superstitious.
It's all for psychological comfort.
"Moreover, she told me that she was not sick, and that it was all the fault of the feng shui. During the six months I was down, although you kept it from me, I also indirectly learned that our Liu family's business was getting worse day by day."
Many projects in the new district have been halted, and even you, third brother, are experiencing setbacks at work. Even some of the younger generation have become rebellious. The person I trust most in the whole family is Xiaoying.
"All these signs are related to problems with our feng shui."
“Grandpa!” Liu Qingshan stood up.
"But our business has been booming these past few years, which means it's the effect of good feng shui."
"Yes, Grandpa!"
Liu Changgeng let out a long breath, "But that's only ten years. Master Gu has calculated that if I die, the eldest, second, and third sons will follow, and then our descendants will all suffer the same fate. In the end, it won't be long before our Liu family disappears from the entire Jiangcheng."
The old man spoke with a strong and clear voice, and everyone gasped when he finished speaking.
If this is true, such an outcome would be too cruel for the Liu family.
"Dad, is there any way to deal with this?"
"This is why I called you here. Master Gu said he wants to go and take a look at the ancestral graves, and he might even have to dig them up."
"Digging up graves?"
