Chapter 12 Rival 2

Qin Yi's mouth tasted sweet. He sat on the bed, and Su Wan, not letting him be idle, took a ball of yarn and made him wind it into a ball.

"Like this, like this, and then like this. Don't use too much force with your hands, just like this."

Qin Yi's hand was being held by Su Wan, and he was so nervous that he almost broke the string.

Su Wan, however, was solely focused on teaching him, without any distractions.

Qin Yi felt himself sweating; he had never sweated this much even when facing life-or-death situations before.

This feeling was both exciting and thrilling, making him want to get even closer to Su Wan.

After Su Wan finished teaching him carefully, she noticed his tense state and felt both doubtful and worried.

"Why don't you pester me and see if that's right?"

Qin Yi clumsily wrapped the cloth around and around, and occasionally when he didn't wrap it well, Su Wan would tell him to unwrap it and rewrap it.

He had never felt so embarrassed.

"Truly troublesome."

This is a double standard. It's unclear whether he's saying Su Wan is difficult to deal with or the thread is difficult to deal with. Su Wan raised an eyebrow at him, but Qin Yi lowered his head and refused to look at her.

"Um?"

"No, it's nothing, I wasn't talking about you."

Su Wan turned to look at him and saw that he was focused on winding the thread. She got up to clean the table, spread the cloth she had bought on the table, and then took out scissors and a ruler to measure the lines, as if she still couldn't quite figure it out.

She used to be a tailor because she had no clothes to wear, so she took apart her adoptive mother's old clothes and altered them to make them smaller for herself. At first, the clothes she made were so ugly that they were unbearable to look at.

Later, when she was taking it apart, she used her own old clothes as a reference to make it, and gradually learned how.

But now that she was going to make clothes for Qin Yi, she would inevitably have to take his measurements, and thinking of this, she couldn't help but blush.

"You went to the market today just to buy these things?"

"Um."

Su Wan stared down at the cloth, two little voices fighting in her mind. One said, "Measure it, measure it for him so it will fit properly."

One person said, "No way, something like that happened last time, it's really embarrassing."

Qin Yi suddenly felt that the current situation made him feel that life was peaceful and serene.

Looking at Su Wan, he didn't know why he blurted out the words.

“You can tell me if you want to go to the market, and I’ll arrange a car to take you. It’s so cold outside, you…”

He swallowed his words halfway through.

He wanted to say, "It's so cold, and you're a woman traveling so far and buying so many things. What if you catch a cold? What if something happens to you?"

He felt he couldn't bring himself to say those words.

He couldn't say it, especially to Su Wan, but he was clearly different towards her.

"What?"

Su Wan was thinking about how to cut the garment and didn't pay attention to what he was saying.

"No, it's nothing."

Su Wan took a ruler and walked to the bedside, asking Qin Yi to turn around so she could measure his clothes.

"Raise your hands."

Qin Yi didn't know what she was going to do, but he obediently raised his hand.

Su Wan measured him with a ruler, her fingers tracing Qin Yi's skin, her breath spraying on his neck, an atmosphere that made Qin Yi tense all over.

His heart was pounding so hard he felt like it was going to jump out of his chest, and he desperately tried to hide his emotions on his face.

My mind is filled with the scene from that dream.

He couldn't remember how many times he had lost control. Watching Su Wan carefully measure his clothes, his Adam's apple bobbed. Su Wan looked at the nervous Qin Yi.

Are you hot? Your ears are so red.

Qin Yi's face turned red uncontrollably, his face and neck turned red, and his ears turned so red they looked like they were about to bleed.

He looked up and saw Su Wan looking at him with a puzzled expression.

He coughed loudly to cover up his discomfort.

Seeing Qin Yi's expression, Su Wan roughly knew what he was thinking, so she took a ruler and went to record the dimensions.

The unique fragrance of a woman suddenly disappeared, and Qin Yi suddenly felt a chill even around him.

What did you buy for yourself?

"Um?"

Su Wan didn't understand why Qin Yi asked that question, and then shook her head.

"I lack nothing."

Qin Yi looked at Su Wan's face; this woman was incredibly foolish.

Is she really not after the money?

Qin Yi couldn't understand her, but he felt a little sorry for this silly girl. He could roughly tell the Su family's attitude towards her.

Qin Yi shook his head in frustration. Why was he thinking about this? She was her, and he was himself. He was a cripple now, and she would leave sooner or later anyway.

Once she leaves, the two of them may never see each other again.

“Su Wan…”

This was the first time Qin Yi had called Su Wan's name so calmly, but once the words were out, he realized he didn't know what to say.

You can't exactly ask her when she plans to leave, can you?

I was so confused.

"Um?"

Hearing Qin Yi call her, Su Wan, who was busy with her work, looked up from her pile of tasks. She saw that he had called her name but did not say anything.

"What's wrong?"

"No, it's nothing."

After thinking for a moment, I added a sentence.

"Go buy yourself some clothes tomorrow."

"No."

Su Wan looked at Qin Yi and felt that he was acting strangely today, saying some inexplicable things.

"Old Qin...?"

Lin Changchun's voice rang out from outside the door.

Su Wan put on a coat and went to open the door.

"Sister-in-law, is Lao Qin home?"

Lin Changchun immediately realized he had asked the question redundantly. It was freezing cold, Qin Yi's legs were paralyzed, and it was late at night. Where could he have gone if he wasn't home?

He scratched his head awkwardly.

Su Wan didn't feel anything was wrong. She hadn't fully gotten used to being called "sister-in-law" yet, and it didn't feel like she was being addressed. She smiled at Lin Changchun.

"You all talk, I'll go check on Grandma."

"Okay, sister-in-law."

Qin Yi, who had blushed in front of Su Wan just now, didn't even glance at Lin Changchun, focusing instead on tangling the thread Su Wan had given him.
