Chapter 57 The Inconspicuous Trio



They all have fierce personalities.

They weren't always this fierce and mean; they were ravaged by the lower classes.

The instinct is to protect oneself.

Su Wan straightened Qin Yi's slightly disheveled collar, wiped the light sweat from his face, and whispered to him, "Thank you."

Qin Yi's thin lips curved slightly, and his eyes softened: "I work for my wife so that she won't be targeted by any Tom, Dick, or Harry."

Su Wan smiled. This person was still as cunning and vengeful as ever.

Leng Qingshan only helped him out, but he acted like he was taken advantage of.

On the other hand, Leng Qingshan, having left the market, had no interest in going back to his stall and went straight home.

As soon as I entered the house, I was greeted by a pungent smell of alcohol.

Shi Cai looked sad and was drinking one glass after another.

He looked so sad; you'd think he'd been dumped.

He really did get kicked.

Shi Cai's speech was already becoming somewhat slurred.

Leng Qingshan gave a self-deprecating laugh, recalling how well-matched Su Wan and Qin Yi looked standing together: "I wish I could, but I have no chance!"

He then downed another drink in one gulp, turned to Shi Cai, and asked, "What's wrong? Did you get dumped?"

Leng Qingshan's words made Shi Cai, a grown man, cover his face and burst into tears.

Leng Qingshan grew anxious, "What exactly happened?"

After a long while, Shi Cai finally lowered his hand, his eyes red: "The girl I loved is dead!"

Shi Cai told Leng Qingshan about Su Qing, and Leng Qingshan paused for a moment. He patted Shi Cai on the shoulder, and the two brothers, each with their own thoughts, stopped talking and drank one cup after another.

After working with Qin Yi for a long time, Su Wan finally sorted out the goods. She looked at the ledger in her hand, lost in thought.

Su Wan thought to herself that once things stabilized, she would still need to hire someone, otherwise she might not be able to handle everything by herself.

Qin Yi took the ledger from Su Wan's hand: "When I came, Su Shikun said he wanted to see you."
