Chapter 13: Falling Down.

Lin Changchun practically fled the Qin family. What does it mean to be caught red-handed gossiping about others? That's him.

The thought of himself, a grown man, running to someone else's house and gossiping about the homeowner made his face burn like a monkey's bottom. How could he be so impatient and rush to Old Qin to talk about it?

Given the state of Lao Qin's legs, if he knew his wife was laughing and talking with another man, and that the other man had forgotten his own mother for his wife, what kind of situation was that? What did it mean? Even a fool could figure it out.

What if Lao Qin takes it to heart? And Su Wan, did she hear that? How much did she hear?

He gritted his teeth and slapped himself twice.

She has such a foul mouth, she's utterly shameless.

Su Wan entered the room, Qin Yi glanced at her, and continued winding the yarn in his hands. Su Wan asked him a question.

"Is Lin Changchun here for something?"

Qin Yi paused for a moment, his eyes deep and unfathomable. "He's just bored."

He's so bored!

Ha, Qin Yi is now radiating gunpowder. She pursed her lips and a sly glint flashed in her beautiful eyes as she turned away.

"oh."

Su Wan's nonchalant attitude immediately made Qin Yi pull the thread tighter, gripping the tightly wound ball of yarn with all his might, so tightly that the veins on his forehead bulged out. He was a little angry.

That evil energy surged through his body, and he felt a fire burning within him, yet he couldn't find an outlet.

Su Wan caught a glimpse of Qin Yi's actions out of the corner of her eye, raised her eyebrows slightly, and realized that she hadn't noticed the slight thrill she felt inside.

Qin Yi: "You went to the market by yourself today?"

When Qin Yi asked, he looked into Su Wan's eyes, not missing a single expression on her face. She seemed open and honest, but his heart was inexplicably racing. He both hoped that Su Wan would tell him that she had gone with someone else, and he was also afraid to hear Su Wan say it.

These words were clearly a check-up, and Su Wan looked at Qin Yi with some surprise.

She immediately realized that Lin Changchun had come to gossip, and she frowned, wanting to curse him out.

Lin Changchun should change his name to Lin Big Mouth.

Qin Yi looked at Su Wan, waiting for her answer.

"I went there by myself, but I met a classmate at the market, and he gave me a ride back since it was on his way."

Qin Yi asked frankly, and Su Wan answered openly.

Su Wan is inherently competitive and unwilling to admit defeat. Her upbringing has honed her resilient character. If she suffers a loss and lacks the ability to overcome it, she will endure it. If she has the opportunity, she will act decisively and ruthlessly.

After she finished speaking, she smiled casually and continued chatting as if nothing was wrong, while busy with her work.

"Did Lin Changchun come here just to tell you that I came back with another man?"

Qin Yi choked for a moment, then said softly, "Mm."

"Didn't I tell you to keep a close eye on me and not let me run away?"

Su Wan's question was direct and unforgiving. At this point, most men would feel embarrassed and angry.

Qin Yi was no ordinary person. Although he was sensitive and self-conscious because of his crippled leg, he admitted that he was in the wrong. He cleared his throat and spoke.

Can you run?

Su Wan looked up at Qin Yi from her work and asked, half-jokingly and half-seriously.

Do you want me to run away?

have to!

The problem had come back to him again. Qin Yi lowered his eyes, lost in thought.

"If you try to run away, I'll tie you up, but you'll still run. If you don't run..."

Qin Yi didn't say anything more; he looked at Su Wan with intense gaze.

Qin Yi knew that he and Su Wan had no feelings for each other, since they had never met before their marriage.

Moreover, Su Wan was forced into marriage by her family, as he knew. Originally, the Su family wanted Su Qing to marry him, but after learning that his leg was crippled, they temporarily arranged for Su Wan to marry him instead.

If Su Wan really wants to run away, he won't blame her, after all, no one wants to spend their life with a cripple.

Su Wan felt that Qin Yi had no feelings for her and probably didn't have much patience for her. They were husband and wife in name only, and it was hard to say what would happen in the future.

She knew he must be emotionally vulnerable right now, and that he would be affected when he found out his wife was involved with another man.

Even if there are no feelings between the two, no man wants to be cuckolded.

But as long as she is his wife, she will not do anything immoral.

She has no mind for anything else right now. She is comfortable living in the Qin family. Her only goal is to make money, a lot of money, and become a rich woman.

If possible, please take good care of Qin Yi's leg.

She smiled.

Whether I run or not is up to you. If you think I will run, no amount of my assurances will help, and you won't take anything others say to heart.

She looked up at Qin Yi.

"The man who brought me back is Lu Xing. He's my classmate and happens to live nearby. When I first came to school, I didn't know anything. He helped me and I'm grateful to him, but he's just my classmate, and I only treat him as a classmate."

Qin Yi, who always had an icy expression, didn't respond when Su Wan said that, and Su Wan wasn't the type to insist on explaining things clearly.

She knew that trust was something that couldn't be explained away.

Qin Yi's success today is not something that can be swayed by a few words from others; she simply says what needs to be said.

There was a long silence between the two.

Neither of them spoke again until they were in bed together.

With a warm, fragrant body beside him, Su Wan's scent unceremoniously filled Qin Yi's nostrils.

Qin Yi looked at Su Wan, whose breathing had already become steady. His eyes were dark. He wasn't one to drag things out when things happened, but he took Su Wan's matter to heart. He didn't blame Su Wan, but he blamed himself.

Lin Changchun's words kept echoing in his mind.

He knew the young man from the Lu family; he was a few years younger than him, fair-skinned, and looked very refined—the kind of guy girls liked.
