Chapter 40 I'm begging you, sister.

Qin Yi entered the room and greeted the people in the living room, "Big brother is here."

Su Shikun quickly stood up: "Brother-in-law is back."

When Xu Ruyin saw Qin Yi, her eyes involuntarily followed him, filled with jealousy. Why should such a good man belong to Su Wan?

Su Wan watched as Su Shikun and Xu Ruyin each harbored their own thoughts, and gave a mocking smirk. Qin Yi, who was standing to the side, noticed Su Wan's expression and understood what was going on.

Su Wan got up and poured them a cup of tea: "Brother, is there something you need?"

Su Wan's words were neither polite nor warm; such formalities simply didn't exist between them.

They have absolutely no family ties.

She didn't want to have anything to do with them.

Su Shikun's expression wasn't very good, but because Qin Yi was present, he still forced a smile and said, "It's nothing serious, it's just that Mom misses Wanwan a bit and wants her to come back and stay for a few days."

Su Wan rolled her eyes inwardly.

Missing her?

She'd be a fool to believe that!

Upon hearing this, Qin Yi stood up and said, "I'll go get the car."

Su Shikun hurriedly stopped Qin Yi, "Brother-in-law, no need, no need. Mom just misses Wanwan. Wanwan can go back alone."

Su Wan wanted to curse in her heart, because she didn't want Qin Yi to go back with her.

Something unusual must be going on.

This clearly indicates ill intentions.

They must have come up with some dirty scheme against her again. Perfect, she wanted to see what they were up to.

While I'm at it, I'll test what she just found out...

She gave Qin Yi a look: "You stay home with Grandma, I can go back by myself."

Seeing that Qin Yi wanted to go with Su Wan, Su Shikun remembered Han Hongmei's instructions and quickly stepped forward to make amends.

"Don't worry, brother-in-law, I'll go see Mom and come back right away. Wanwan, go now."

Xu Ruyin tactfully got up as well, and Su Shikun eagerly pulled Su Wan out the door.

His anxious demeanor suggested that if he stayed any longer, his unspoken thoughts would be exposed.

Xu Ruyin traveled with them for a while before heading home. Su Shikun reminded her, "Be careful on the road."

After leaving the Qin family, Xu Ruyin didn't give Su Wan a single glance and rode away like a peacock.

Su Wan followed behind Su Shikun, who initially tried to get closer to her, asking, "Wanwan, how have you been lately?"

Su Wan: "That's good."

Su Shikun: "Oh, brother-in-law, how are you two...?"

Su Wan: "That's good."

Su Shikun: "Brother-in-law's leg is completely healed?"

Su Wan: "Okay."

...

No matter what Su Shikun said, Su Wan always kept it brief and to the point.

After repeating himself to himself for a while, he couldn't find any more topics for the two of them to talk about, so he simply shut up.

When they arrived at the Su family home, Han Hongmei was sitting in the living room waiting. When she saw Su Wan come in, she warmly pulled Su Wan along, and the mother and daughter sat down on the sofa together. She said to Su Wan in a warm voice, "Wanwan, you're finally back. Mom missed you so much."

Han Hongmei was now acting like a loving mother longing for her daughter to return home. Su Wan calmly withdrew her hand and sat lazily on the sofa.

"Mom, you asked me to come back, it's not because you miss me, is it?"

Han Hongmei smiled awkwardly after being bluntly rebuked by Su Wan.

Looking at Su Wan's rebellious nature, Su Shikun felt a surge of anger welling up inside him.

Without even thinking, she got up and rushed in front of Su Wan: "You brat, how dare you talk to your mother like that? You have no manners at all, and I don't know how you grew up like this!"

Su Wan smiled as she looked at Su Shikun, who was as furious as a bull.

"I have no manners, Mom. Whose fault is this?"

Han Hongmei looked pale and clutched her chest in discomfort. She had a real headache; this daughter was such a worry, always going against her.

How could she be so insensible and disrespectful?

She has no manners at all, how dare she say that!

Why don't you reflect on yourself?

Then, after a moment's thought, she scolded Su Shikun: "What nonsense are you talking about, child? This is your sister. If you say she has no manners, aren't you just saying I didn't raise your sister well?"

Su Shikun turned his head away angrily without saying a word. Seeing that her son was sensible and stopped talking back, Han Hongmei calmed down.

Then, looking at Su Wan reproachfully, she said, "Mom scolded your brother, you can't be angry."

Su Wan sneered. Saying a few words that were neither painful nor effective was considered a lesson. This lesson was far too lenient.

Han Hongmei looked at Su Wan and said softly, "You are my child, how could I not miss you?"

Su Wan remained silent, smiling as she looked at her. Han Hongmei felt a little embarrassed by her gaze, but still managed to speak up.

"Wanwan, your sister, she..."

As Han Hongmei spoke, tears streamed down her face. Su Qing had been causing a lot of trouble lately, locking herself in her room all day and refusing to go out.

In the last two days, a hunger strike has even started.

Seeing Han Hongmei's tears fall so easily, Su Wan couldn't help but sigh inwardly, "Su Qing really inherited her talent; she doesn't even need to rehearse her tears beforehand."

Han Hongmei sobbed, looking at Su Wan with pleading eyes: "Wanwan, you're the older sister, just pretend..."

Han Hongmei started crying again halfway through her sentence, and Su Wan raised an eyebrow: "She's dead?"

Han Hongmei choked, and Su Shikun, who was standing next to her, jumped up and pointed at Su Wan, looking as if he wanted to gouge out Su Wan's eyes. "Su Wan, you bitch, what nonsense are you talking about? Even if you die, Qingqing won't die."

Su Wan looked at him coldly, her mockery deepening. "Since the person isn't dead, why are you crying?"

Su Shikun was so angry that he had only one thought in his mind: to strangle Su Wan. "Since you want to die so badly, then I'll just strangle you."
