Grandma Qin also heard the screams and met Su Wan's gaze. Both of them stared at each other, holding their breath.
Su Wan listened carefully and realized the voice was coming from Li Chunying.
Li Chunying cried and pleaded, "No, no, please!"
It seemed that Liu Shujun was trying to drive Li Chunying away, and Li Chunying was desperately pleading with him.
Liu Shujun remained unmoved; he didn't want to spend another day with Li Chunying.
They gossip about this parent and that family all day long, making promises to themselves, but then they break their own ways the next day.
He also didn't understand why a woman's tongue could grow to such an extent.
The two got into a huge fight, and eventually someone came to mediate. The crowd persuaded the angry Liu Shujun to go home, and Li Chunying took her luggage back. After a while, the farce outside gradually subsided.
Grandma Qin spoke with a mixture of anger and conflict: "Serves you right!"
Since Su Wan married Qin Yi, Grandma Qin has treated her exceptionally well, truly regarding her as her own child.
Su Wan had no intention of meddling in other people's affairs and comforted Grandma Qin: "Grandma, people can say whatever they want. We just need to do our own thing."
Grandma Qin looked distressed and held Su Wan's hand, saying, "Wanwan, I'm so sorry you had to suffer like this."
Su Wan looked calmly at Grandma Qin, her eyes gentle, "Grandma, I called back."
"Okay, our Wanwan is really something else. That's how it has to be. If someone bullies you, you have to fight back. Otherwise, people will think we're easy to bully."
Grandma Qin was extremely satisfied with Su Wan.
Su Wan is not a pushover, nor is she someone who clings to blood ties. Just like how she treats Han Hongmei and Su Chengde now, she responds when they are close to her, and she retaliates when they criticize her.
They used to bully her because she was young, and she fought back and was taught a lesson, but that doesn't mean she can forgive them.
Grandma Qin patted her hand: "Go and get some sleep."
The grandfather and grandson each returned to their rooms.
Su Wan lay in bed, exhausted from the day, yet unable to fall asleep.
Having gotten used to sleeping with someone, Qin Yi's sudden absence made her feel very uncomfortable.
Su Wan stared blankly at Qin Yi's pillow, wondering where he was, whether he had eaten, and whether his mission was in danger.
As she thought about it, Su Wan shook her head with amusement; she was becoming more and more like a married woman.
Why are you already thinking about him as soon as he left?
For several days in a row, everyone greeted Su Wan warmly whenever she entered or left the compound.
When Su Wan went out in the morning, she unexpectedly ran into Shen Qingxia. Shen Qingxia had specially prepared a soup for Lu Xing to nourish his body. When she saw Su Wan, she greeted her with a smile.
"Wanwan, going to work?"
Su Wan parted her teeth slightly and said, "Mmm."
Shen Qingxia: "I heard you opened a wholesale stall?"
Su Wan squinted at the gloomy sky. "Yes, Auntie sometimes goes to see if there's anything she likes and brings some back to use."
Su Wan said "take," not "buy."
Although it's just polite talk, it still sounds nice, doesn't it?
Shen Qingxia smiled happily, "Okay."
Shen Qingxia wasn't very familiar with Su Wan. Because of Lu Xing, she subconsciously avoided Su Wan, even though she hated her son for being so useless.
They were also dissatisfied with Su Wan's lack of manners and tact.
Looking at it today, it seems Su Wan isn't the kind of person who doesn't know when to advance or retreat.
She handled the situation appropriately and knew when to advance and retreat.
It seems that it's just that his good-for-nothing son has a crush on him. It's true that Lu Xing is stupid; he couldn't seize any of the great opportunities the two had at school.
Everyone had heard about Su Wan being forced by her family to marry Qin Yi, and she had also heard about it.
Otherwise, Li Chunying wouldn't have discussed it so openly.
Looking at Su Wan, Shen Qingxia couldn't help but find Su Wan pleasing to the eye in every way.
The two traveled together, and Shen Qingxia chatted with Su Wan the whole way. Along the way, Shen Qingxia's opinion of Su Wan completely changed; what a wonderful girl she was.
As they approached the market, Su Wan said goodbye to Shen Qingxia: "Goodbye, Auntie."
Shen Qingxia waved, "Goodbye."
Su Wan didn't ask Shen Qingxia what she was there for, and Shen Qingxia didn't say either.
Su Wan felt that even if she wanted to see Lu Xing, she wanted to wait until Qin Yi came back before doing so. After all, he had saved her life, and now that he was injured, it was only right and proper for her to visit him.
However, given Lu Xing's condition, she was afraid that if she went, he would misunderstand.
I decided not to ask Brigitte Shen anymore.
Just as Su Wan was about to step inside, she saw Jiang Baiyuan smoking to one side, with a little girl standing opposite him.
The young woman was Jiang Yanyan, the blind date Lin Changchun had set up with but who hadn't liked her.
Jiang Baiyuan remained indifferent, as if he didn't take Jiang Yanyan in front of him seriously.
Jiang Yanyan is different.
She glanced at Jiang Baiyuan furtively, feeling both uneasy and shy.
Su Wan raised an eyebrow and secretly rolled her eyes in her mind.
She felt that Jiang Baiyuan was fooling the young girl.
But this was their private matter, and she didn't know the girl. After thinking about it, she decided not to interfere.
Su Wan lifted her foot and, out of the corner of her eye, saw Jiang Yanyan taking small steps to get closer to Jiang Baiyuan. "You, why are you ignoring me?"
Jiang Baiyuan's expression was distant as he took a deep drag on his cigarette: "We're not familiar with each other."
Jiang Yanyan asked again, "Are you angry that I went on a blind date with Lin Changchun?"
Jiang Baiyuan frowned: "No."
Su Wan couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she pretended not to see anything and strode inside. Jiang Baiyuan turned around and saw her, and hurriedly called out to her.
"sister in law."
Su Wan stopped and watched Jiang Baiyuan approach.
"What's wrong?"
She hadn't seen Jiang Baiyuan for several days and didn't know why he was at the market so early in the morning.
Surely it couldn't be because Qin Yi was spying on him?
Jiang Baiyuan said, "Well, Lao Qin is coming back today. I'm picking him up, and I thought I'd come and let you know."
