When Qin Yi returned to the ward, Su Wan was enjoying her meal and handed him a piece of meat.
"The new son-in-law is back? What did your parents-in-law tell you?"
Seeing Su Wan's teasing expression, Qin Yi playfully pinched her nose.
"He told me to take good care of you."
Su Wan pouted. She knew all too well what the Su family was like. They told Qin Yi to take care of her, but she herself wouldn't do anything for him.
No, I still made sacrifices.

Su Wan glanced at Qin Yi, her words carrying a lecturing tone.

Seeing him get flustered, Su Wan felt that he was much more vibrant now.
Qin Yi threatened her while massaging her legs.
"You won't be smiling anymore once you're discharged from the hospital."
Just as the two were arguing, there was a knock on the ward door.
"Come in."
The door opened, and Lu Xing came in from outside carrying a bag of fruit.
He watched as Qin Yi sat by Su Wan's bedside, his face filled with resentment, while Su Wan wore a smile.
Lu Xing felt a pang of pain in his heart and coughed a few times to cover up his disappointment.

"Su, how are you?"
Su Wan looked at Lu Xing, recalling how he had saved her. She felt grateful, but also polite and distant.
"Lu, thank you so much for arriving in time that day. I was fine because of you. Thank you."

What he wanted was Su Wan herself.

“Your sister-in-law and I have been talking about this for the past few days. We are both extremely grateful.”
Qin Yi, who was usually a man of few words, delivered a scathing blow with every sentence, each one a deadly blow that struck at the heart without drawing blood.
When Lu Xing heard Qin Yi repeatedly refer to his wife as "your sister-in-law," his heart ached even more.
His face was pale, and not wanting to lose his composure in front of Su Wan, he forced a smile.

Lu Xing fled in a panic.
Lu Xing was just released from confinement by Lu Chengjun today.
