A look of surprise appeared on Su Wan's fair face. Why was Jiang Baiyuan here?
"Sit down and rest for a while..."
Su Wan noticed that Jiang Baiyuan seemed a little tense. Jiang Baiyuan politely nodded to Liu Shuang as a greeting, then walked up to Su Wan and said, "Sister-in-law, come back with me."
Without hesitation, Su Wan gave Liu Shuang a few instructions and then left with Jiang Baiyuan. Neither of them spoke, but Su Wan felt that Jiang Baiyuan must have something to say to her.
As the car door closed, Su Wan fastened her seatbelt and asked Jiang Baiyuan, "What did Qin Yi want from me?"
Jiang Baiyuan, his brows furrowed, turned the steering wheel and pondered for a moment: "Sister-in-law, this matter can't be explained in a few words. I'll tell you slowly on the way."
Su Wan's throat tightened suddenly, and she felt inexplicably nervous.
Could something have happened to Qin Yi?
"Old Qin is fine, don't worry, sister-in-law."
Perhaps sensing Su Wan's unease, Jiang Baiyuan quickly tried to make amends.
As the car drove out of the market, Jiang Baiyuan slowly began to recount what had happened. Qin Yi had obtained clues about Su Shikun and devised a plan to capture them all. Qin Yi met Su Shikun, who had been completely brainwashed and wouldn't listen to Qin Yi's advice at all.
During the chase, Su Shikun was furious. "Brother-in-law, I'm about to accompany a high-ranking leader to a social event. Don't block my way. We're still family, or don't blame me for turning my back on you!"
Qin Yi scoffed, "What kind of leader do you want me to meet?"
Su Shikun snapped, "You're not qualified. When you are, you'll be allowed to see me."
Qin Yi's face was so cold it seemed to freeze. He didn't like to advise people, but for Su Wan's sake, he still said a few more words: "Your so-called big leader is a gang of swindlers. Are you sure you want to be so stubborn?"
Su Shikun was so enraged he was almost about to hit him. His eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Qin Yi with murderous intent: "What do you know! Do you think a nobody like you can meet the leaders of a major organization? Let me go, and I'll pretend nothing happened."
When he said that, Qin Yi already knew that Su Shikun was beyond redemption; if he told a lie a thousand times, he would believe it himself.
Taking advantage of Qin Yi's momentary lapse in concentration, Su Shikun drew his dagger and stabbed him in the arm. Qin Yi was injured, but Su Shikun took the opportunity to escape.
Qin Yi stood there silently smoking for a long time, realizing that Su Shikun had also tricked him.
Such people possess a mysterious belief system and engage in near-mad self-hypnosis to escape the real world.
Lost in his addiction and unwilling to wake up, according to Qin Yi, Su Shikun had already asked his family for nearly 100,000 yuan under various pretexts during this period.
Except for the first time, when Su Chengde sent someone to deliver the money, all the others were secretly delivered to him by Han Hongmei.
For ordinary people, 100,000 is an income level that may not be reached even in ten years.
Every time he told Han Hongmei, it was the same old story: "Mom, I'm having dinner with my boss right now, I'll be back in a couple of days."
Or, "Mom, I have to go on a business trip with my boss recently. I'll be back after I finish these last couple of days."
If Han Hongmei readily gives him money when he asks for it, he's like a loving mother. But if Han Hongmei doesn't give it or hesitates, he goes berserk on the other end of the phone. Han Hongmei feels sorry for her son and softens her heart, so she gives him the money.
But the more they gave, the more they realized it was a bottomless pit.
When Su Shikun made the phone call, Han Hongmei tested him by crying and saying, "Xiao Kun, Mom hasn't been feeling well lately. Please come back and see Mom."
Su Shikun readily agreed, giving her a perfect score in terms of emotional value: "Mom, don't worry, I'll definitely go back in the next couple of days, and I'll take you to see it when I get back."
As it turns out, he was just saying that; he didn't care about the lives of his family members at all.
Su Wan thought sarcastically to herself that Han Hongmei probably thought of this, which was why she was willing to half-heartedly try to get along with her daughter.
This is because they are afraid of having no one to rely on when they get old.
When Su Wan arrived, Qin Yi had just finished bandaging up. Su Wan noticed that Qin Yi's leg had just healed, but his arm was injured again, this time because of his family's affairs.
I felt a little guilty.
"Does it hurt? How deep is the wound?"
Qin Yi's usually cold face softened: "You're not that delicate, it's alright."
The nurse packed her things and gestured, "You can go now."
The two got up and walked home, with Su Wan glancing at Qin Yi's wound several times along the way.
Qin Yi noticed Su Wan's gaze and his expression softened: "Worried?"
Su Wan nodded, her fair face slightly furrowed, clearly unhappy. She took Qin Yi's uninjured hand and said, "Be careful next time, I'm worried."
I'm worried!
Those three words softened Qin Yi's heart.
This is how his wife shows her love for him. He is a married man with a grandmother and a lovely wife.
Qin Yi tightened his grip on Su Wan's hand slightly.
This experience, like climbing a mountain, made him feel that all the hard work was worthwhile.
They also value their lives even more!
For Su Wan's sake, he must cherish himself.
When they got home, Grandma Qin saw Qin Yi's injury and asked him a lot of questions. She only breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that he was alright.
If anything else happens, her old bones can't take the fright.
The next day, as soon as Su Wan woke up, Qin Yi had already packed her things.
Qin Yi looked much better after a good night's sleep.
Su Wan woke up from her sleep, stretched, and immediately asked about Qin Yi's injury: "Does it still hurt today?"
"The pain has subsided."
Qin Yi wanted to say that he had suffered similar injuries countless times before and never took them to heart. In order not to worry his grandmother, he often did not go home when he was injured, making excuses that he was busy and would come back after he recovered.
