After a great deal of hardship, they crossed a large swamp filled with poisonous gas.
Yan Miao opened the map in the Merit Mall. The red location markers were flashing, indicating that they were getting closer and closer to the location of the Antelope Grass!
But after walking for less than 10 minutes, she realized something was wrong.
Ahead, the fog swirled, and the closer we got, the thicker it became!
The soil was so thick that it easily covered the surrounding vegetation, making it impossible to see anything inside from a distance.
The thick fog acted as a blurred boundary, separating the inside from the outside, as if the other side of the fog was another world.
"strangeness!"
"We just came from the swamp, how come we suddenly got caught in a thick fog?"
"We're walking on flat ground! Logically, fog should be located on the mountainside or at the top of a mountain. How come it's here too?"
Yan Zhao said something strange.
But they still haven't learned their lesson and foolishly want to keep moving forward.
"Second brother, be careful!"
"Don't act rashly without understanding the situation!"
Yan Miao reached out and pulled him back.
I picked up a pebble and tentatively threw it forward, but I didn't hear it land for a long time.
The two finally realized that what lay ahead was probably not so simple!
She picked up another twig and carefully felt her way forward. Finally, just as she was about to reach the edge of the fog—
I could faintly hear the sound of rushing water!
That sounds pretty big!
"There's a spring nearby!"
Yan Zhao exclaimed excitedly, "There should be a way. Let's go in and take a look!"
Yan Miao disagreed with his opinion.
She also heard the sound of water crashing against rocks with incredible force, indicating that there was some height ahead...
"There's a waterfall ahead, and it's very likely a cliff waterfall. If we rush over there, we might get swept away and not even leave a bone fragment behind!"
"How is that possible?"
How could there be a cliff in front of the swamp?
"Miaomiao, you must have guessed wrong. This mountain area is indeed a bit eerie, but it's not that outrageous."
"Maybe there's a big stream ahead, or something else. How could it possibly be a waterfall?"
Yan Zhao was in a hurry to find the antelope grass and wouldn't listen to anything anyone said.
Helpless, Yan Miao could only tie a dead branch to a vine and throw it forward with all her might.
The vines were not intentionally made more resilient, so that they would be as easily broken and damaged as ordinary vines.
As soon as the object was thrown, she felt a strong suction force pulling her forward!
Yan Miao was pulled forward several steps before she regained her balance.
When they tried to retrieve the vine, they found it had broken in two, and the remaining half had been carried to the bottom by the rushing waterfall.
This shows how powerful the water's impact was!
Upon seeing this, Yan Zhao broke out in a cold sweat. "Now I believe you..."
The two cautiously stepped into the mist, and sure enough—
The icy air and immense suction from above almost blew them off!
The force was so strong that it seemed to suck the two of them into that bottomless abyss and bury them under the icy waterfall!
"Holy crap, what kind of place is this? There's even a waterfall lower than a swamp, it's going to plunge right through the earth's core!"
The bizarre scene before him left Yan Zhao dumbfounded.
Yan Miao was also momentarily dazed. "This is the first time I've ever seen something so strange. Let me think—"
She glanced at the location on the Merit Mall again, and the red light emanating from it was getting stronger and stronger!
"The antelope grass is right under this waterfall, but how do we get down?"
"otherwise--"
Just as she was thinking, Yan Zhao next to her gritted his teeth, as if he had made a great decision, and suddenly jumped down!
"Second brother, have you gone mad?!"
Yan Miao lay on the edge of the cliff, screaming helplessly.
I should never have brought him!
What's going on here?
We didn't find the medicinal herb, but we've already lost one of our people!
She used vines to cling to the surrounding stone walls and then jumped down—
The body instantly loses weight!
Despite being dazed and confused by the cold wind from the waterfall, she still tried her best to keep her eyes wide open and search for Yan Zhao's whereabouts.
She had to use vines to hold him so he wouldn't fall and get smashed to pieces.
Otherwise, when I go down there, my second brother will be reduced to a pile of bone fragments!
On the other side, Yan Zhao rolled 360 degrees in the air several times, almost throwing up his dinner from the night before.
vomit!
He didn't want it to be like this either.
The problem was that when he saw his sister standing on the edge of the cliff, thinking about what to do, he assumed she was also helpless, so he didn't want her to take the risk.
But when he thought of Ranran lying in the hospital waiting for her medicine, he was unwilling to give up just like that!
It's no big deal if I die, but I can't be a burden to my sister!
No matter what, he was determined to give it his all. What if he could reach the bottom of the waterfall safely?
Wouldn't that allow us to find antelope grass and exchange it for medicine to cure Ranran?
He couldn't let his sister take the risk; if he was going to try, he would try it himself!
Yan Zhao was bold and decisive; without uttering a word, he plunged headfirst into the waterfall!
Yan Miao squinted, muttering curses as she searched for him.
Damn, can this guy please stop giving her trouble?
Did he think he could survive if he jumped?
Forget about finding antelope grass, I'd have to seek immortality and ask questions to piece together his broken bones!
The surrounding temperature is getting lower and lower; it seems the waterfall is almost at its bottom...
Yan Miao steadied herself, focused her attention, and exerted her strength—in an instant—
Countless vines sprouted from his back!
After searching in all directions, they finally spotted Yan Zhao, whose mouth was wide open, his cheeks puffed out like balloons from the cold wind!
