Chapter 0 Extra 1 Alone

Chapter 0 Extra 1 Alone

"Ye Nuan, it's my birthday this Saturday, and I'm inviting all the girls in the class to eat hamburgers. You must come!" A female classmate with two pigtails walked to Ye Nuan's desk with a very cute smile.

"Me?" Ye Nuan, a third-grade student who had just transferred to this class, asked in disbelief as he looked at his neatly dressed deskmate.

"Yes, my mother said that birthdays are more lively when there are more people around, and she asked me to make more friends. You just need to come, no need to bring birthday gifts." The girl's family conditions were relatively good at the time, and she was also a nice person.

"I, I won't go." Ye Nuan said in a low voice. She had seen other people celebrating birthdays and holding birthday parties. How could she go to someone else's party and not bring them a gift?

"No, you didn't participate in the previous activities, but you must come this time. Aren't you a student in our class?" The girl said seriously.

"Okay." After hesitating for a long time, Ye Nuan mustered up the courage to agree to her.

Hamburgers? I always hear people begging for burgers in their parents’ arms. I’ve also seen pictures of them, and they look so fancy. Will I ever get a chance to try one?

If I eat it, they won’t let me pay for it myself, right?

On the way back to the orphanage, Ye Nuan patted her head, feeling a little regretful. She should have asked before agreeing. What would she do if she was asked to pay? That kind of thing must be very expensive, right?

Forget it, at worst I won’t eat there, I’ll just consider it a trip to broaden my horizons.

After reporting his itinerary to the life teacher, Ye Nuan gathered at the school gate at noon on Saturday.

My deskmate's parents brought all the girls in their class to a hamburger restaurant.

"I'll order a burger for each of you, and three family buckets, and there will be cake later. Thank you all for coming to my good boy's birthday party." The mother of the classmate said gently.

"Thank you, uncle and aunt!" everyone said in unison.

Ye Nuan also thanked him quietly. She sat in a corner.

Seeing her deskmate surrounded by his parents, Ye Nuan felt a little strange.

After blowing out the candles, everyone took out their gifts.

Ye Nuan secretly felt relieved. Fortunately, after finishing her homework yesterday, she made a birthday card for her deskmate, imitating the cards sent by some caring people on the wall of the orphanage.

Someone sent Ye Nuan some colored paper some time ago. The one she had was useless, but it came in handy now.

"Happy birthday." This was the first time Ye Nuan said these four words to children who were not from an orphanage.

"Thank you, it's beautiful." The birthday girl took Ye Nuan's greeting card, and her mother handed Ye Nuan a small piece of cake.

"Thank you, Auntie." Ye Nuan thanked her quietly. In short, she was never as comfortable here as other children.

As she ate the fluffy cream, Ye Nuan was afraid that if she ate too much, the cake would be gone immediately. This was the most delicious cake she had ever eaten before she started working part-time in a cake shop in high school, and it was also one of the few times she had tasted such a delicious cake.

After a while, the hamburgers came and Ye Nuan got one.

But, do I really not have to pay for it myself? Ye Nuan hesitated.

"Why don't you eat? Don't you like this? Do you want to change it? Let me tell you, my parents are treating us today, they will make sure you all eat your fill." The birthday boy saw Ye Nuan sitting still while talking to the friends who came one by one.

"No, I want to drink some water before eating." Hearing that she didn't have to pay for it herself, Ye Nuan picked up the package and opened it embarrassedly.

I secretly looked at the classmates next to me, then imitated their posture and started eating in small bites.

Except for her tablemate, no one spoke to her during the entire banquet. While others were playing games in pairs, Ye Nuan sat in the corner with her hands clenched, not knowing what she was thinking.

In her class, not many people talked to her. One reason was that she never took the initiative to talk to others. The second was that others seemed to know that she was an orphan, so no one came to the parent-teacher meeting at the beginning of the school year.

She always kept her head down, and the clothes she wore didn't seem to fit her well.

Later, Ye Nuan recalled the first party she was invited to, and thought about herself, who was always alone, and realized that she had met someone who took the initiative to talk to her.
