Chapter 217 Zhao Ting: Blink if you're being threatened.

Looking around, one could see Cheng Si lounging lazily on the black leather sofa in the office, one hand behind his head and the other hanging down almost touching the ground.

His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, revealing firm and smooth muscle lines in his arms. A magazine was covering his face, and he looked like he was sleeping.

Zhao Ting was completely taken aback by the scene that greeted him upon entering.

He clearly remembered that before he went downstairs to pick up Shi Miao, Cheng Si was sitting at his desk looking at his computer. How come he went to sleep on the sofa in such a short time?

Zhao Ting looked at the girl standing next to him, gestured for her to sit down, and said with a smile, "Night God, let's go sit on the sofa."

As soon as he finished speaking, the man on the sofa finally stirred.

Cheng Si raised his hand to pick up the magazine covering his face and slowly sat up from the sofa.

Her hair was a little messy, and her eyes were misty, making her look like she had just woken up.

He looked up at Shi Miao, who had just sat down opposite him, and said in a slightly hoarse voice, "You're here."

Shi Miao gave a faint "hmm," her gaze seemingly drifting to Cheng Si's head as she pondered how to get her hands on his hair later.

Zhao Ting: "By the way, Night God, would you like something to drink?"

Shi Miao's eyes flickered slightly. She hadn't expected the opportunity to come so soon. This was a good chance to get Zhao Ting out of the way. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Cola, please."

Zhao Ting stood up. "You know what, our company actually keeps Coke on hand. I'll go get it for you right now."

Shi Miao: "..."

Cheng Si leaned back on the sofa, one hand propping up his forehead, a slight smile playing on his lips. "You like cola too?"

Shi Miao lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes obscuring her vision, and softly replied, "Mm."

"You guys keep chatting, I'll be right back," Zhao Ting said, and left the office.

...

After Zhao Ting left, a brief silence fell over the office.

Cheng Si suddenly stood up, his deep eyes fixed on the girl opposite him. His casual tone carried a hint of nonchalance, "I'm quite curious, you kept saying no yesterday, why did you suddenly change your mind?"

Shi Miao was just debating whether to knock the person unconscious, pluck a few hairs, and run away.

Hearing him speak, she snapped out of her daze, lifted her eyelids, and said in a serious tone, "Don't you know that girls are always fickle?"

Cheng Si raised an eyebrow slightly, seemingly somewhat incredulous, "Really?"

Shi Miao also stood up, walked around the coffee table that was in the middle, and stopped in front of Cheng Si. "Do I look like someone who's joking?"

Cheng Si put his hands in his pockets, his expression quite serious, and said, "I think it looks pretty much like it."

Just as Shi Miao was about to speak, Zhao Ting suddenly pushed open the door, poked his head out, and called out, "Um, Night God, we're out of cola, how about orange juice?"

Upon hearing this, Shi Miao turned her head to look at the door and said, "Okay."

Zhao Ting nodded. "Okay."

After Zhao Ting left again, Shi Miao looked away and her gaze returned to the man's hair in front of her. "You seem to have a gray hair on your head."

She paused for a moment, then said, "If you don't mind, I'll remove it for you?"

"Impossible." Cheng Si frowned, took out his phone from his pocket, opened the camera, lowered his head slightly, and began to ruffle his hair in front of the phone screen.

Shi Miao's eyelids twitched involuntarily. While he was focused on fiddling with his hair, she quietly circled around behind him.

Without the slightest hesitation, she raised her hand and chopped at the back of his neck with incredible speed, far too fast for a normal person to react to.

However, Cheng Si seemed to have eyes in the back of his head. Before Shi Miao could even see his movements, he had already grabbed her wrist.

Shi Miao's eyes were filled with deep surprise, and for the first time, her expression was somewhat broken. She never expected that Cheng Si's skills were far superior to hers, and that she couldn't break free at all even when she used all her strength, which was outrageous.

Cheng Si turned around, released her wrist, his eyes narrowed, and a faint but dangerous aura emanated from him. "What, you attacked me?"

Shi Miao took two steps back warily, rubbed her reddened wrist, and said calmly, "No, I just saw a mosquito on your neck and wanted to swat it."

Cheng Si looked at her with a half-smile, took two steps forward, and asked, "Are there mosquitoes this time of year?"

Shi Miao pursed her lips, walked around him, and sat down on the sofa again. Her tone sounded quite calm. "It's normal to have one or two mosquitoes this season."

Cheng Si turned and walked to her, leaning down and resting his arms on the sofa, pulling her into his embrace. A smile played on one corner of his lips. "Is that so?"

Shi Miao's brow twitched. Just as she raised her hand to push Cheng Si away, a startled exclamation suddenly rang in her ears: "Holy crap, what are you guys doing?!"

When Zhao Ting pushed open the door, he saw the two in such an intimate position. The glass of orange juice in his hand fell to the ground with a clatter. He stared at them in astonishment, speechless.

Cheng Si straightened up, plopped down on the coffee table behind him, turned to look at Zhao Ting at the door, his eyes filled with complete indifference, "Of course, it's to exchange feelings."

Ignoring the shards of glass and orange juice scattered on the ground, Zhao Ting quickly walked over and whispered, "Night God, blink if you're being threatened."

Shi Miao: "..."

Cheng Si: "???"

Shi Miao took out her phone from her pocket, glanced at it, stood up, and said calmly, "Something came up at my school, it's quite urgent, so it looks like we can't talk today. Let's reschedule for another day."

"Huh? Okay." Zhao Ting was naturally in no mood to talk about business anymore, and was full of doubts.

I never expected that in the time it took me to get something, things would develop so quickly, and we were almost hugging each other.

He glanced at Cheng Si on the left and Shi Miao on the right. Both of them looked quite calm, and he couldn't detect anything unusual.

Shi Miao ignored Zhao Ting's probing gaze, greeted the two of them, and left the office.

...

After watching Shi Miao leave, Zhao Ting finally couldn't hold back any longer and asked anxiously, "Wait, what's going on between you two? You're not really trying to steal her away, are you?!"

Cheng Si got up and sat in the spot where Shi Miao had just been sitting, casually putting his long legs on the coffee table, his eyes lowered, as if he was thinking about something.

"Boss Cheng?"

Cheng Si lifted his eyelids to look at him and asked sincerely, "Are there really mosquitoes this time of year?"

Zhao Ting scratched his head, somewhat unable to keep up with his train of thought, but still answered honestly, "Yes, I occasionally see one or two at home, but they all fly around listlessly, and you can catch them with a single swipe."

"No, don't change the subject. Are you plotting something against her?"

Cheng Si crossed his arms, glanced at him, and slightly raised his narrow, phoenix-shaped eyes. "Why don't you say she had ulterior motives towards me?"

Zhao Ting: "Hehe."
