It was noon when Shi Miao came out of the examination room.
She rubbed her throbbing temples and took her phone out of her bag.
Lu Hansheng, carrying his schoolbag, walked slowly to her side and said softly, "How did the exam go?"
Shi Miao put her phone in her pocket, turned her head slightly to look at him, and said casually, "It's alright, how about you?"
Lu Hansheng nodded. "It should be fine."
As they talked, they unknowingly arrived at the school gate.
"Sister Miao!" Ji Sinian's eyes brightened when he saw the two people who came out, and he strode forward.
"How did you two do on the exam?"
Shi Miao, hands in her pockets, eyes slightly red, lazily said, "It's alright."
Ji Yanchen and Gu Wanqing also came over.
Gu Wanqing took Shi Miao's arm and said with a smile, "You must be starving."
Shi Miao nodded. "A little."
Ji Yanchen reached out and took the backpack from Shi Miao's shoulder, his eyes filled with a mixture of tenderness. "Let's go, what do you want to eat?"
After thinking for a moment, Shi Miao said, "Hot pot, please."
Just then, Gu Wanqing's phone rang. She let go of Shi Miao's hand, took her phone out of her bag, glanced at the caller ID, and walked to the side to answer it.
Ji Sinian touched his nose and turned to look at Lu Hansheng standing to the side, "Do you want to come eat hot pot with us?"
Lu Hansheng's eyes flickered slightly, and he said calmly, "No need, I'll be going back to H City soon."
Ji Sinian pursed his lips and suddenly said, "Uncle, I won't go to dinner with you. I'll go back to H City with Lu Hansheng first."
Lu Hansheng was slightly taken aback, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, not understanding what was wrong with him this time.
Upon hearing this, Ji Yanchen looked up at him and gave a faint "hmm".
Gu Wanqing walked over with her phone in hand. "Miaomiao, Mom has to go back to the Piano Association to take care of some things, so I won't be going to dinner with you."
Shi Miao: "Okay."
......
After everyone left, Lu Hansheng turned to look at the boy beside her, her eyes filled with inquiry: "Why are you coming back with me?"
Ji Sinian crossed his arms and smirked, "Tsk, it's just that I think you're too lonely by yourself."
Lu Hansheng frowned slightly, lowered his eyes, and walked forward. "Who told you I was lonely?"
Seeing this, Ji Sinian followed, saying, "I was just saying, look at you, always going around by yourself without any friends, how can you not be lonely?"
Lu Hansheng paused, staring ahead, and said coldly, "That's none of your business."
Ji Sinian raised an eyebrow slightly, a smile playing on his lips. "How can it have nothing to do with me? I say it does, so it does!"
Lu Hansheng glanced at him out of the corner of his eye and said indifferently, "Childish."

Ji Yanchen drove Shi Miao to a hot pot restaurant that had recently become quite popular in the capital.
"Young Master Ji!"
As the two walked hand in hand to the entrance of the hot pot restaurant, Qin Mingyue's surprised voice came from the side.
Upon hearing this, Ji Yanchen stopped in his tracks, frowned slightly, and said coldly, "What is it?"
"What a coincidence..." Qin Mingyue's cheeks flushed slightly; she hadn't expected to run into Ji Yanchen here.
At this moment, Qin Xiao walked over with his car keys and said in surprise, "Shi Xiaomiao, you're here for hot pot too? What a coincidence."
Shi Miao raised an eyebrow slightly, surprised that they could run into each other while having a meal. She casually replied, "Hmm, what a coincidence."
Qin Xiao glanced at the two people in front of him and suddenly suggested, "Why don't we eat together?"
Upon hearing this, Qin Mingyue's expression stiffened, and she gently tugged at Qin Xiao's sleeve.
Qin Xiao looked down at her hand and asked, puzzled, "Why are you pulling on me?"
Qin Mingyue pursed her lips and turned her head away. "It's nothing."
Ji Yanchen ignored the two of them, squeezed Shi Miao's hand, and said in a low, soothing voice, "Let's go in."
Shi Miao had clear, sharp eyes and a somewhat languid expression. He nodded and said, "Okay."
Qin Mingyue stared at Shi Miao and Ji Yanchen's tightly clasped hands, a hint of jealousy flashing in her eyes, and bit her lip in resentment.
......
After the two went inside, Qin Xiao turned to Qin Mingyue, frowned, and asked, "What's wrong with you today?"
Qin Mingyue's eyes flickered slightly. She hugged his arm and said coquettishly, "I don't like Shi Miao. Brother, you shouldn't associate with her anymore."
Qin Xiao's expression suddenly turned cold. He pulled his arm away and said in a serious voice, "My affairs are none of your business."
Qin Mingyue never expected that Qin Xiao, who always doted on her, would scold her for the sake of Shi Miao, who came from a humble background.
Her eyes were slightly red, and her tone was urgent and sharp: "What's so good about her? She's just a country bumpkin from H City. I think you've been fooled by her face."
Qin Xiao's face instantly darkened, a hint of coldness flashing in his deep eyes. He warned, "Don't let me hear you say that again, or I'll make you regret it."
Qin Mingyue's pupils suddenly contracted, her almond-shaped eyes filled with disbelief, and she shouted, "Qin Xiao, are you crazy? Are you still my brother?!"
"I have something to do, so I'll be going now. You can go back by yourself." Qin Xiao said, then turned around and left without looking back.
Qin Mingyue was so angry she felt like she was going to grind her teeth to dust. She stomped her foot and quickly chased after him, calling out, "Brother! Wait for me!"
