Chapter 249 Bomb Gift Package

The group didn't stay at the airport for long before setting off back to the Shi family manor.

On the way back, Shi Miao leaned back in her seat, feeling a little sleepy. She turned her head to look at the buildings rushing past outside the window. Suddenly, her eyes flickered, and she finally remembered that she hadn't told Ji Yanchen what had happened here.

The main problem is that I haven't had time to check my phone since the incident, and it's been in airplane mode the whole time, so I haven't received any message notifications and I've completely forgotten about it.

As for why Shi Jing and his group were able to receive the news so quickly, it was simply because the plane they were on was the Shi family's private jet. Naturally, if something happened, the relevant person in charge of the Shi family would be notified immediately.

Shi Miao sat up slightly, took out her phone from her pocket, and turned off airplane mode. Sure enough, a bunch of message notifications popped up on her phone the next second.

She opened WeChat, found her chat with Ji Yanchen, and the latest message was Ji Yanchen's reply: "Message me when you arrive."

Shi Miao tapped her phone screen slowly and deliberately, not mentioning the time bomb, but simply sending a message: 【Something came up, I'm not leaving for now.】

He then replied to everyone else's messages one by one.

After she finished replying to all the messages, Ji Yanchen still hadn't responded, so he must be busy.

About ten minutes later, the phone suddenly rang.

Shi Miao glanced at the caller ID and then answered the call.

"Just finished. What happened?" A man's cool, deep voice, tinged with worry, came from beside me.

Shi Miao glanced at Cheng Si sitting next to her out of the corner of her eye and suddenly thought of his extraordinary hearing. She figured that if she made a phone call now, he would hear everything she said on the other end of the phone.

Cheng Si seemed to notice Shi Miao's gaze and raised an eyebrow slightly, but seeing that she was on the phone, he moved his lips and silently asked, "What's wrong?"

At the same time, seeing that Shi Miao hadn't spoken, Ji Yanchen called her again, "Miao Miao?"

Shi Miao composed herself, waved to Cheng Si to indicate that she was alright, and then said to Ji Yanchen on the other end of the phone, "Are you free to come over now? Let's talk in person."

Although Ji Yanchen was a little puzzled as to why he had to say it in person, he didn't ask any further questions and replied, "Okay, I'm coming over now."

After hanging up the phone, Shi Miao suddenly remembered something, so she opened WeChat and sent a message to Zhong Li, Yiduohua, and her three-person WeChat group.

Get to work.

......

Not long after Shi Miao returned to the manor, Ji Yanchen arrived by car.

After leading him to Shi Miao's room, the housekeeper left on his own.

Ji Yanchen glanced at the open door, guessing that Shi Miao had opened it in advance to wait for him to come over. He then stepped inside and closed the door behind him.

Hearing the noise, Shi Miao looked up at him, her dark eyes shimmering. "You're here."

Ji Yanchen looked at Shi Miao sitting on the sofa by the window and asked, "How could the cabin window be broken? Was it done intentionally?"

Before he arrived, he had someone check what had happened at the airport that day.

Shi Miao lounged lazily on the sofa, her slender, pale hand supporting her chin, and said casually, "There was a time bomb planted on the plane."

Ji Yanchen was slightly taken aback upon hearing this, a hint of surprise flashing in his deep eyes. Combining what Shi Miao said with what he had investigated, he quickly deduced what the two had done in the cabin at the time, but one thing was still unclear: "How did you find the bomb?"

Shi Miao's delicate face showed little emotion, and her clear, cold voice was completely pure, "My brother found out. If it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't have been able to escape this time."

Ji Yanchen's eyes darkened, his mind racing, and he guessed, "The same person who was in the last car accident?"

Shi Miao nodded, her eyes narrowing slightly. "If nothing unexpected happens, it should be."

Ji Yanchen leaned against the windowsill, watching the girl beside him, and asked, "What are you planning to do next?"

Shi Miao raised an eyebrow, her expression nonchalant. "Isn't their only goal the position of heir? I'll take it back then."

Ji Yanchen curled his lips, seemingly thinking it wasn't that simple. "You're letting them go so easily?"

Shi Miao's eyes flickered slightly, her fingers stroking her fair chin, and she said with a hint of amusement, "I gave them a surprise."

Ji Yanchen chuckled softly, not too surprised, after all, he knew Shi Miao was never one to let herself suffer a loss, and asked, "What surprise?"

Shi Miao: "A bomb gift package."

...

Shi Jing acted quickly as well, and upon returning, he decided to hold a banquet the following night to announce Shi Miao and Cheng Si's identities.

That very night, he ordered people to send the hastily made invitations to various families.

The invitation was simple and clear: they wanted to announce something at the banquet the following evening and invited everyone to come and witness it.

The families who received the invitations were quite puzzled and began to speculate about what Shi Jing was up to.

Shi Song naturally received an invitation as well, and it was obvious what Shi Jing was planning to do: announce Shi Miao's identity.

Shi Ying looked at the contents of the invitation, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes, "So soon, tomorrow night?!"

Shi Song snorted coldly, lowered his head and took a sip of tea, "What are you afraid of? The Shi family isn't ruled by him alone. Don't forget there's still the successor assessment."

Shi Ying tossed the closed invitation onto the coffee table. "I know."

Just as he finished speaking, an explosion suddenly came from outside the villa, shaking the decorations in the living room.

Before the two could react, another explosion rang out, this time even louder, as if it were right next to the villa.

"Oh no, Third Master! Miss Shi Ying, let's go!" The trusted aide rushed in and shouted.

Shi Song stood up unsteadily, clearly startled by the sudden explosion.

He looked up through the window, his face extremely grim. "What's going on outside? Where did that explosion come from?"

The confidant approached and took his arm, leading him outside while saying, "Someone has secretly hidden a bomb outside. We don't know if it's inside the villa. Let's evacuate first."

Shi Ying wasn't much better off; her face was pale, and her brows were furrowed with shock. She simply couldn't believe what she was hearing: "A bomb?!"

The confidant nodded solemnly, "Yes, it's very dangerous here. Nobody knows if there will be another explosion later. Let's get out of here quickly."

When Shi Song heard the word "bomb," his temples throbbed. For some reason, Shi Miao's name immediately popped into his mind, but he quickly dismissed it.
