Chapter 68 How a person lives depends on themselves

It's hard to say whether it's because of the identity of the eldest daughter of the Nie family, or because of this batch of goods. Si Yu Zhang San is out on business and hasn't returned yet, so it's possible that the location has been exposed and someone is watching him.

In short, leaving is the best option, but it seems that someone is determined to take Kongsang's life. The elevator is rising rapidly, and its target is most likely their floor.

Lin Changli pulled Kong Sang, whose face was slightly pale, into the stairwell. He casually touched Kong Sang's thin back. The absence of blood did not mean that Kong Sang was not injured; he was likely bruised and battered from the shockwave.

His face was cold and stern, yet radiating absolute calm: "Sangsang, bear with it. We have to leave."

"Don't worry, I won't hold you back. I'll follow your plan," Kong Sang said calmly.

Appreciating Sang Sang's composure, Lin Changli's lips curled into a smile.

After descending only a few floors, Kong Sang suddenly said, "Kill at 5 o'clock."

Lin Changli raised an eyebrow, his fingers twitched slightly, and a water arrow seemed to condense in the air and shot out.

A muffled groan was heard, followed by the sound of someone falling to the ground. The two didn't even glance at the sound and continued running downhill.

The Kongsang River seemed like a precise instrument, constantly revealing the location of everyone who climbed up the building. One person would call out a number, and the other would kill. It was clean and efficient, and they reached the lobby on the first floor without any delay.

The explosion upstairs has caused panic, and there are many people on the first floor who are trying to get out.

Kong Sang lowered his head slightly and walked out with Lin Changli, disappearing into the crowd.

Neither of them had any face coverings or masks at the moment; their striking faces were difficult to conceal.

Amidst the crowd pushing outwards, some people were pushing in the opposite direction, their purpose quite clear.

Lin Changli's azure eyes appeared, a chill running through them. The person closest to him had their brain crushed by the water pressure, bleeding from all seven orifices as they collapsed.

The crowd gasped and surged outwards in a frenzy. Some who hadn't managed to get close froze in place, their faces filled with shock. This tactic was beyond their expectations...

Kong Sang was also shocked by Lin Changli's abilities and was pulled out of the hotel.

An hour later, Lin Changli led the disheveled Kong Sang into a hotel that didn't require identification. His familiarity with the place made it hard for Kong Sang not to wonder if this guy had been here before.

Holding the medicinal wine he bought from the shopkeeper, Lin Changli asked seriously, "Will you take it off yourself or should I do it for you?"

Kong Sang glanced at the medicinal wine, turned his back to Lin Changli, took off his robe down to his waist, and lay down on the bed.

The noticeably heavier breathing behind her made her look awkward: "Hurry up, stop thinking nonsense."

Lin Changli chuckled as she gently stroked the butterfly-shaped shoulder blades that seemed ready to take flight: "If I don't want you to worry, then I probably have a problem in that area."

Despite the provocative words, the man still poured out the medicinal wine and carefully rubbed the bruises on Kong Sang's back to prevent her from suffering later.

Looking at the skin that should have been as white as snow, now broken.

Lin Changli said, "Sangsang, why are you so stubborn? If you just want to leave the Nie family to catch your breath, you can rely on me. You don't need to endure all this."

Kong Sang lay on the bed, her voice muffled: "Lin Changli, if I were the kind of woman who uses her body to please you, then how would you be any different from Nie Jingxing to me?"

The hand behind him paused slightly.

Kong Sang didn't care and continued, "For a while, I didn't really want to live because I couldn't see any hope, and I didn't feel that I could live a different life than before."

"Later I realized that how a person lives depends on themselves. I can pick up a weapon and hurt others, so why should I just give up and let others trample on me?"

“I know you’re interested in me. I could even sleep with you and then bluntly ask you to do anything for me, but I wouldn’t feel any different from before. In my eyes, that’s not living!”

His bare back was covered by a powerful body.

Lin Changli's breath brushed against her temples: "Sangsang, you're not a girl who likes honesty. The fact that you're telling me these things means that I'm not the same to you."

Kong Sang turned her head and met his deep blue eyes, which seemed like treasures in the sea, without saying a word.

Lin Changli seemed to understand something, and with a pleasant smile, he approached, touched her soft lips, and licked them little by little, sweeping through every part of her territory.

A large hand gripped Kong Sang's shoulder, intending to lift the half-naked man up, when at the crucial moment, the phone rang shrilly.

Kong Sang immediately gave him a push and quickly put on her bathrobe.

Lin Changli sighed, glancing at his phone. Sure enough, it was Si Yu. That bastard really knows how to pick his timing.

The meeting went smoothly, and both Si Yu and Zhang San breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that everyone was alright. They had been really worried when they heard about the hotel explosion.

"How badly are you injured?" Si Yu looked at Kong Sang's back; the smell of medicinal wine on him was impossible to hide.

Kong Sang, who had already changed into her newly bought clothes, shook her head: "It's nothing, it's just a minor ripple."

Si Yu frowned: "I've contacted Huo Xun. Although I don't know that the owner of that shipment is you, Huo Xun is conspicuous, and many people covet what he intercepted."

"Our arrival at this time is undoubtedly in the eye of the storm. Given Nie's status as the eldest daughter of the Nie family, coupled with the fact that we are unaware of the inside story, people are likely to make a lot of connections."

"They probably want to kill you in Shenxi Pass, pin the blame on Huo Xun, and use the Nie family to get rid of him."

Kong Sang was neither surprised nor angry; given the Nie family's name, such things were unavoidable.

She gave a soft "Mmm": "When will Huo Xun see me?"

"He'll send someone to pick us up tomorrow night, we..."

Kong Sang interrupted, "Without us, it's just me and Zhang San. You and Lin Changli either go back to the capital or wait for me here."

Si Yu's face darkened: "I thought that by the time we got to the plane, you understood what we meant. Why do you have to keep us at arm's length?"

"You know very well that neither I nor Lin Changli will force you to do anything because of this. We're just worried about you, don't you understand?"

Kong Sang remained calm: "I know very well that you have more goodwill towards me than anything else, which is why I don't want you to continue getting involved. It would attract Huo Xun's attention. In fact, don't you really have any guesses about what this thing is?"

"The reason I haven't torn off this mask is simply because none of you believe that I, the eldest daughter of the Nie family, would risk my life to do things that none of you would even dare to imagine."

“I can take responsibility for my own actions, but I can’t afford yours. I don’t need your well-intentioned protection and involvement. I can handle my own affairs.”

Kong Sang slung his backpack over his shoulder, intending to take Zhang San, who had a strange expression, away, but his wrists were grabbed from both sides.

Lin Changli said with a playful tone, "Since Sangsang doesn't need goodwill, let's just talk about interests. I don't need to repay the funds I invested; consider it an investment."

Si Yu also raised his eyebrows and said, "I'm investing based on my connections, while Qi Yunshen has connections on both sides. We are quite interested in Sangsang's courage to change the world."

Kong Sang's eyes darkened slightly: "As expected, the three of you had some suspicions from the beginning, and you were just waiting for me to lose my temper and reveal myself, weren't you?"

Si Yu smiled and said, "Sang Sang, don't think of us as such a bad person. We just didn't want you to feel threatened, so we chose a way that makes you feel comfortable. The initiative is in your hands."
